The pain was out of this world, as the hot water turned red around me. I sat back and waited as I felt the blood flow out of me. I started to feel weaker and weaker as the minutes that felt like eternity went by. It was far too late to get out of this even if I wanted to. My vision became blurry as my tears from the pain and my fading strength set in. Through my cloudy eyes I saw a familiar figure come up beside me and heard his familiar voice.
“Hannah…” he said softly.
“Clay…I’m sorry.” I replied.
This was truly the end. I was seeing a vision of my beloved as I died. It was comforting, despite the pain. The vision continued and I heard him say a few more things to me as I managed to get a last look and say a few last things to him as the darkness took me and everything faded away.

“Hannah! Jesus! Hannah!” Clay Jensen screamed in horror as he and Tony Padilla burst into the bathroom that was filled with bloody water.
“Jesus, Tony! Call 911!” Clay yelled as he held Hannah while she laid in the tub bleeding profusely.
Hannah was barely conscious and turned slowly toward Clay with the little strength she had left.
“Clay…I’m sorry,” she said very quietly.
Clay took several deep breaths as he tried to stop the bleeding, getting water and blood everywhere.
His mouth hung open in total disbelief at the absolutely horrific scene.
“It’s going to be fine, Hannah. You’re going to be okay.” Clay said as he scrambled to help her.
Hannah watched him through her tear soaked eyes.
“Clay, I want to say…goodbye…to you,” Hannah said ever so softly.
Clay’s face was drenched with tears and his chest became tied in an intense knot.
“No! Hannah! Don’t say that! I…I love you, Hannah. I love you.”
Hannah smiled softly as her strength faded away.
“I love you too…Clay…I love you. I…wish there was another way…”
Hannah closed her eyes and went limp in Clay’s arms.
“There is! Hannah! Hannah please! Wake up. Please don’t die! Please…” he pleaded, as he held Hannah’s lifeless body tight.
He was covered in Hannah’s blood and bathwater as held her for the next several minutes, gently stroking her hair, and crying his heart out. Those few minutes may well have been all of eternity before the paramedics arrived. Hannah Baker was pronounced dead at the hospital while her parents, Clay, and Tony stood in the lobby in total shock and numbness.
