Appearance

Kōsuna Sunahara is a woman of slightly pale complexion, average height and lean muscular build. As a child, she had caramel brown wavy shoulderlength hair evenly parted but as an adult her hair was streaked with white stemming from Marie Antoinette syndrome after enduring intensive torture. She wears a sandy pink headband patterned with gold and dark blue swirls gifted to her by Tomioka Giyuu with her right fringe mainly draping over the right side of her face and dark blue eyes with white swirls in them.

She is usually seen with an easygoing smile on her face, and wears a regular brown tinted version of the standard Demon Slayer uniform with golden buttons, the jacket unbuttoned and clad in a sandy pink, white, gold, caramel brown, and dark blue Karakusa patterned haori, also with a white long sleeved shirt underneath and all three rolled up to her elbows.

Her white dress shirt is tucked into her pleated skirt with brown tinted shorts under, matching her uniform. Finally, she wears gold thigh-high socks with sandy pink, white, caramel brown, and dark blue Karakusa patterns on the sides also gifted to her by Tomioka and a pair of white zōri with caramel brown straps.

She wields a standard Nichirin Katana with a gold sheen, cream colored tsuka ito, sandy pink and caramel brown tsuka and same, caramel brown kahsira, and a swirled dark blue tsuba with Destroyer of Demons (惡鬼滅殺, Akki Messatsu) engraved on the side of her blade. Her blades scabbard is a slightly darker brownish black of her Demon Slayer uniform with both the edges being caramel brown.

Personality

As a child, Kosuna was extremely arrogant and conceited over her astronomical wealth and remarkable ability to see through peoples bodies. She believed that she was truly special, and better than everyone else, but she dropped that nature around her best friend Yukiya. She was also a habitual liar; after getting in trouble with her father for stealing his keys in order to find where he kept his money so she could go out into the city and buy something for Yukiya as repayment for a gift he bought her, Kosuna immediately blamed her sister Kiyoku and claimed she told her to steal the keys. However, soon after being tortured, Kosuna eventually loses her pride after she has a mental breakdown and falls into a state of grief and shame. After her departure from Muzan, she seems to be no longer be as arrogant and cruel as before and adopts a more empathetic persona. Due to not wanting to revert back to the horrible person she once was, she began wearing the karakusa patterned haori her nonbiological mother Shikusa had given her any chance she got, as, in her eyes, karakusas symbolize growth.

Kosuna is easygoing and has a generally friendly, caring, and cheery personality. She often stays calm and collected in serious situations such as when performing surgeries, and is also humble over her swordsmanship skills and superhuman abilities and senses. She is actually quite courageous and switches to a serious disposition if she or a loved one is attacked. She often claims she is capable of doing things she (unknowingly) cannot actually do, and sticks with the idea of completing them even when the situation proves to be impossible for her and her effects are irreversible. As a further testimony to her recklessly stubborn nature, whenever someone she cares about is in danger, she'll summon a great deal of strength and try to save them. When things subside, Kosuna tends to get highly emotional. She is actually extremely insecure and feels worthless without a high rank or power.
