Summary:

Part 1 - First meeting for Frey and Jun

Work Text:

The first time it happened was a genuine mistake. A split second to slow to react and the Vampire was on him. He was slammed into the wall, knocking the breath from his lungs and he was sure he felt a rib break. He swung his arm down with his silver dagger, desperate to recover some control over the situation, but a strong grip shoved his arm back, and his dagger fell from his grasp.
He squeezed his eyes shut, not wanting to see, waiting to feel the fangs pierce his skin, but nothing happened.
A roar, a whistle of wind, a weightlessness as the body on him was flung to the side. Jun opened his eyes cautiously and saw a second demon with white hair and gold horns atop the first, ripping it's throat out with sharp claws.
Not wasting a moment, seeing that the hunt was not going his way, Jun fled.

The second time a vampire got the jump on him, he wasn't even expecting a hunt. He was just out getting a hotdog before dusk fell, when an ambitious vampire pulled him into an alley. Same again, the white haired vampire took out the first. Jun reached into his back pocket for his knife, ready to engage. The white-haired vampire snarled at him and vanished up the wall.
The third time, Jun was testing a hypothesis. The vampire in front of him was new, weak. She couldn't have been more than a year old, clumsy and aggressive in her attack. He could fight her off easily, vampire hunts like this were pretty much routine by now. Against his own better judgement he was curious to see if the white-haired vampire would appear again. Once was a coincidence, twice was unlikely, but three times? Three times meant there was more going on.
The vampire screamed and dashed for him, rather than sidestepping Jun let her collide and they both fell into a wall. She wasn't strong enough that he was in any danger, and his hand was coolly gripped on his knife. He waited.
Sure enough, there was a whistle of wind and the young vampire was thrown to one side, her neck torn out faster than he could see. However, Jun made a move to push off the wall he was shoved roughly back, and a new body pushed against his.
The white haired vampire.

Jun hated vampires. He knew what they were, monstrous abominations. Aberrant creatures that killed with no remorse. Inhuman. He was trained and conditioned to end them on sight.
But this creature pressed close to him. This couldn't be a vampire. He was... beautiful. Delicate features on rose pink skin, long soft eyelashes framing almond-shaped eyes... and the eyes, they were completely obsidian, but they glittered.
The vampire had a hand on his throat and Jun felt how strong they were. He swallowed and stared impassively at the creature holding him still.
It considered him, head tilted to one side.

"I thought Vampire Hunters were supposed to be good at this." It said, voice lilting and deep. Jun smirked in return,
"That's right." He pressed the tip of his knife into the creature's sternum. It looked down and snarled. Then moved closer so it's breath was tickling Jun's neck.
Jun breathed softly, pushing the knife harder.
"Do it then," it whispered, pointed teeth scraped ever so slightly against his skin, a threat. Jun wanted to, he wanted to shove forward with his wrist, drive the silvered blade hard into the creature, but he didn't.
A huff of laughter, a flick of a tongue on his pulse point, and the vampire was gone.
