Notes:

Hey guys!
Quick note: This one's going to be divided into chapters instead of being one big oneshot like the other two. It's mostly to see which of the two I like more.

Now, here's the first chapter, it's the beginning of the movie to the title card.

Chapter Text

A jet landed in the middle of a frozen forest, but none of the occupants were dressed for cold weather. A group of six exited, all dressed for a fight.

A man with a bow, a red haired assassin, a red white and blue war hero, a norse god, a scientist with rage issues, and a red and white war criminal, their leader. He looked at a small building not far from where they landed.

“Alright, let’s get to work.”

Alex was having the time of his life shooting at HYDRA agents with Clint. They were standing in the back of a military vehicle that they ‘borrowed’ from a small HYDRA base, and the two were currently raining fire on the enemy soldier while Nat drove.

Steve was on a motorcycle behind them while Tony and Thor were above, all taking out soldiers and watchtowers. He smirked to himself as he watched Hulk take out more armored vehicles, the green guy was also having fun.

Fun had to stop briefly when they came across a barrier and they jumped out the vehicle, his other teammates jumping over or flying over as well, but the fun came right back when they landed and started raining fire on the oncoming soldiers. This must be so embarrassing for HYDRA, getting beat by seven people while they have a small army.

In the distance he heard something metallic hit an energy field.

“Shit!” Tony’s voice rang out through his com.

Alex sighed and was about to channel ‘Dad mode’ as Tony put it, but Steve beat him to it. “Language!”

Alex raised an eyebrow in the super soldier's direction but moved on. “JARVIS, what's the view from upstairs?” He opted for instead, focusing back on the mission.

“The central building is protected by some kind of energy shield. Strucker's technology is well beyond any other HYDRA base we've taken.”

“The Mind Stone must be here. Strucker couldn't mount this defense without it. At long last.” Thor sounded relieved that they finally located the Mind Stone, not that Alex could blame him. He should have taken the stone back to his planet with him, but he was tired and wasn’t really thinking straight after the Battle of New York.

“‘At long last’ is lasting a little long, boys.” Nat’s voice brought him back to the fight as she shot down a few more agents. Alex saw another armored vehicle heading their way and shot it in the engine, destroying it.

“Yeah. I think we lost the element of surprise.” Clint said as he shot at more agents. Alex shot behind Clint and hit some more agents, killing five.

“Tony, get in there and find the stone.” Alex ordered. “And everyone, remember what Bucky told us about the Maximoffs.”

Bucky had told them about a brother and sister duo that had joined HYDRA and were the first people to survive human experimentation with the Mind Stone, giving them powers.

The girl had electric interfacing, telekinesis, and mental manipulation. The boy had increased metabolism and improved thermal homeostasis. Or, as Steve liked to put it, he’s fast and she’s weird.

“Wait a second. No one else is going to deal with the fact that Cap just said ‘language?’” Tony asked incredulously.

“Yeah, I thought that was weird too.” Alex commented as he reloaded.

“I know.” Steve sighed as he threw his motorcycle into a group of agents driving towards them. “It just slipped out.”

Alex just rolled his eyes as they advanced closer to the building.

“Sir, the city is taking fire.” JARVIS informed them.

“Well, HYDRA’s not gonna care about civilian casualties.” Alex said as Tony sent out the Iron Legion.

He watched as Clint fired an exploding arrow at a bunker, but it never blew up. He leveled his rifle in his direction, something wasn’t right.

As Clint popped out to fire again, a blur ran past him and knocked him to the ground. The culprit made the mistake to slow down to taunt him.

Alex shot the Maximoff boy in the leg, removing him as a threat. He stalked over and smirked at the fear in his eyes.

“Don’t touch my team.” He helped Clint up, but the both immediately ducked as they were fired upon.

“The Maximoff boy is down, keep an eye out for the girl.” Alex warned the others.

“And can someone take care of that bunker?” Clint begged.

Hulk decided that it was a job for him.

“Thank you.” Clint said and Alex began to interrogate Maximoff.

“You want to tell us where your sister is or are we gonna have to identify her body?” Death threats always have a knack for making people talk.

“She’s inside.” Fear was overflowing in his eyes. “Please, don’t hurt her.”

“If she strikes first we won’t hold back.” Alex told him and a small amount of relief washed over the kids face.

Why can’t Xisuma and I be like this?

He heard a blast in the distance. “Drawbridge is down, people.” He then heard another small metallic blast, closer to them.

“Steve, Thor, what did I say about doing that?” Alex sighed.

“... To not do that.” Thor answered.

“Mhm.” Alex looked back at base. “Get the Mind Stone, we’ll talk on the jet.”

Thor flew off as Steve began trudging over.

“And for gosh sake, watch your language!” Tony added jokingly, and Alex couldn’t help but snicker.

“That’s not going away anytime soon.”

“Not at all.” Alex confirmed. “Now stay on guard, the Maximoff girl is inside there somewhere.”

“Copy that. Anything else Dad?” Alex rolled his eyes at Tony’s joke.

Nat smirked as she walked over. “Hey, be nice to our father, Tony. His old heart can’t take it.”

“Yeah, we wouldn’t want to give him a heart attack, would we Tony?” Steve added.

Clint was snickering. “Yeah, be nice to our dad!”

“The sad part is I don’t know who you’re roasting, me or Tony.” He got a good laugh out of all of them.

“Well this might cheer you up, I found a secret door.” Tony said, and Alex got a great idea.

“Awesome, I’m so proud of you son.”

He made everyone laugh as Tony sighed. “I gave you the perfect opportunity, didn’t I?”

“Yep.” He looked over at Hulk and smiled. “Hey Hulk! How you feeling?!”

“GOOD RED MAN!” Hulk yelled. “DONE NOW!?”

“Yeah, we’re done now!” He confirmed.

Hulk nodded and became Bruce again, Alex already holding an extra shirt out for him.

“Thanks Dad.” Bruce smirked as the two spies laughed.

“That’s it, all of you are grounded, except for Thor.”

Steve swore through the coms. “Found the girl, be careful Tony. Also got Strucker.”

“Well, I got something… bigger.” Alex did not like the sound of that. “Alex, I got eyes on the prize.”

“Good to hear, grab it and get out.” Alex said, but he began worrying when Tony said nothing for a while. “Tony, everything alright?”

“Huh- no no- I’m fine, but, um, I think the girl just did something to my head.”  Tony sounded like he was out of it a bit. Steve said he was heading over and the team stood by patiently.

“Yeah, hey, can you give my head a look over when we get to the jet?” Tony was not sounding good.

“Already planned to.” Alex confirmed and he nodded at the rest to start heading back, Clint dragging along the Maximoff boy.

“Hey, um, why is Thor the only one not grounded?” Tony sounded really out of it, and from the grunts Steve was probably carrying him.

“Because he was the only one who didn’t make a dad joke.” The others thought about it for a second before groaning.

“Hey, you were the ones who set me up, stop complaining.”
