Work Text:
I ran down Noble Nook, looking around for my girlfriend. I knew Holly was around here somewhere because my Shticker Book said so, but finding her was really tough sometimes. She was constantly on the move because, 'these Suits needeth mine supervision to do anything correctly.'
Just then, I spotted her. Holly was in a conversation with another Cog, her eyes practically glaring daggers while she scolded them for something. The Cog, a level 4 Swindler, looked pretty scared and was apologizing profusely. I chose to hide around the corner of a nearby building and listen.
"...fifth time thou hath ruined thine own corporate attire today! Thou cannot roam these streets with rags!"
"I'm sorry Miss Grayelle, a Toon knocked me over into the mud after they threw a pie at me!" the Swindler apologized. Well, their health meter was slowly blinking red...
"I careth not! Fix thine attire this instant or bother not with returning to work tomorrow!" Holly scoffed, turning around and leaving the Cog to clean themselves up. When was sure she wasn't looking, I approached the Swindler and handed them a handkerchief from my pocket.
"Don't let Holly find out a Toon helped you or she'll fire you out of a cannon faster than Chip," I whispered, rummaging through my pockets until I also found a sewing kit, "Here, do you know how to sew?"
The Swindler looked confused at first, but slowly accepted my generosity. They still gave me a suspicious look before asking me, "Why are you helping me, Toon?"
"Because-"
"Which Toon DARETH challenge mine authority?" Holly suddenly shouted, and I could hear her turn around to come back.
"Run, dude," I urged, pushing the Cog away. This time they didn't protest or hesitate and quickly walked away, hiding into a nearby alleyway. At that exact moment, I could hear Holly turn the corner.
"Lucky Felix?!" Holly seemed surprised to see me.
I turned around to face Holly and gave her a casual smile, "Hey cutie, what's up?"
"NAY calleth me that on the clock!" Holly scoffed, "Thou art but an enemy Toon when I'm doing mine own j-"
"Heyyyyyyyy, do you wanna, like, get some ice cream together so I can tell you there's something on your cheek and kiss y-"
"Thou shall NOT interrupteth me!" Holly took another step towards me so she could tower over me. I did a stereotypical happy cat face at her and stuck out my tongue.
"I think I just did. What are you gonna do about it, hm? Throw curses at me that I can interrupt again?" I grinned.
Holly was clearly quite surprised with my response and stammered for a few seconds, which I interrupted by standing on a nearby barrel so I was a little taller than her and kissing her helmet. She fell completely silent afterwards, but from this angle I could see the blush obscured by her helmet.
"Aww, no more good comebacks?" I giggled and threw a 'cute' peace sign. When I was greeted with a second of silence, I continued, "Guess that mea-AH!"
It was my turn to be surprised when Holly picked me up so she supported my entire body weight, dipping me down so I was looking up at her. As she lifted her helmet I tried to come up with a snarky response, but it came out as unintelligible stammers that she easily shut up with a kiss on the lips. At first I kind of protested out of embarrassment, but eventually I gave in and just let her take the lead.
When she pulled away, I knew my entire Toony head was probably red with blush at this point. Holly gracefully adjusted so she was carrying me bridal style, not seeming to care about the crowd of Toons and Cogs that was beginning to form to watch as Holly Grayelle herself interacted with a Toon like this in public. I, on the other hand, refused to make eye contact with anyone. Our relationship wasn't a secret to anyone and had made headlines several times, but the most PDA we'd had until now was holding hands and an occasional kiss on the cheek or hug. Oh, and flirting. A lot of flirting {mostly from me}.
"Doth thou challenge me again, Toon?" Holly smirked at me.
Despite having already been given my own public humiliation, I returned the expression and said, "Yes."
