Chapter Text
swimming as hastily as he could through the water, noah made his way out of the likely shark infested pool of definitely not-safe-for-consumption-and-probably-not-salt-ocean.
a bit of water accidentally went down his throat, and now he was one hundred percent sure he'd be throwing up tonight. he could already feel his body fighting against whichever horrible flesh-eating-bacterias were currently trying to eat him from the inside out.
it was pretty annoying. coming on a stupid reality tv show, thinking you'd get a nice vacation of sorts on some 5-star-resort. he'd thought he would be able to kick back and relax. that this summer would be a nice break from his siblings and all their kids. maybe even peacefully read a few books. he’d even assumed it would be a nice change of scenery, and wouldn't have to move off his lazy ass much.
so, yeah. turns out it was all a scam.
which, honestly, he should've expected. he found out about it from some stupid commercial with a stupidly long contract he couldn't have been asked to read. he now realises he was stupid not to. who the hell goes through four hundred pages of paper work, anyways? it’s not that he couldn’t, he could read that many pages in his sleep- he just didn’t feel the need to.
and look where that had got him now.
the commercial video made it seem as tho it would be an easy way to win one hundred thousand bucks. and the yachts made it seem as tho it was legit. now that he thought about it, it was likely they blew all of their money on those rides. seriously, what's up with that?
noah pulled off his red sweater vest, squeezing it till water started to pour out of it. he grumbled out curse words under his breath. the feeling of his wet hair and clothes sticking to him was positively repulsive. it made him want to run into traffic, if he was being honest.
he comes for a nice time and all he gets is this dingy, disgusting toxic-waste ridden island filled with ridiculous teens of clinches he thought went extinct, an obnoxious, clinically insane host and his buff-and probably boyfriend- co-host, being threatened by a guy who wears a dog collar within the first few seconds of being on air, and then falling into a possibly shark infested and defiantly polluted ocean.
this show, in fact this whole island, was such a disappointment noah was sure going back home to his overcrowded home
would be like paradise.
this was probably the worst thing he had ever willingly ever signed up for, and he now knew to never come back.
it's safe to say, noah was not happy. he just hoped his books weren't soaked. or else he was sure he would go insane on this hell hole without safe entertainment.
he wore his new and thankfully dry clothes as he walked right of the cabins with one hand pinching his nose, a book in his other. owen had stunk it the entire cabin up, making every man and thing run for their lives. if this island wasn't already as toxic before, it definitely was now. he felt like he would pass out. noah had smelt pretty horrid things in his life, but this took the cake for miles. hell, it wasn't even a competition.
as soon as he stepped out of satan's ass, some short white boy went flying, and face planted right into the ground in front of him. he was stunned, and his eyes widened. who expects someone to zoom through the air towards them, anyways?
crossing his arms, he got over it and remembered where he was. better accept the fact this island is the most unpredictable and unreliable place to be. the dude pulled his head out the ground, some dirt in his mouth.
"that's definitely not disgusting..." he mumbled, watching as the new arrival struggled to get off of the ground.
noah felt his face contort in disgust as he watched him spit out dirt and grass alike, a cringe on his face as he shakily got back up and onto his feet. he felt kind of bad for him, but not enough to act on it or even say anything.
"oh...uhm. hi, i guess." he spoke awkwardly, wiping his mouth, clearly embarrassed. noah raised an eyebrow. he looked at the other, and remembered his name as something that started with a c...cory? cora? no, definitely not that...right, it was cody.
the guy was pretty scrawny- not that noah could talk- and looked like every other geek. the only things he was missing was probably braces, which, by the look at his tooth gap, he probably needed. and, of course, signature glasses. the way he looked around though, made it seem as if he didn't wear glasses due to thinking it would make him look nerdier then he already was.
he had hair that was a chestnut brown. his fashion taste was almost as bad as noah's, but seeing as they were all forced to wear the same outfit for the rest of the stay here, it's possible he didn't exactly choose this style. noah found that fact ridiculous. now they look like those ridiculous cartoon characters that have wardrobes filled with the same outfits.
cody smiled nervously, as if the silence was putting him on edge.
"why did you..." noah- or at least, that's what cody thinks his name is- looks him up and down in a judging way. cody felt his cheeks warm up slightly. "...fly through the air like that?"
"oh! uh. i might've been trying to flirt with gwen..." he laughed nervously, pointing towards the gothic girl with his thumb, cracking a smile. noah snorted.
"might wanna give up on her. she's obviously not interested." he scoffed, rolling his eyes. cody winced slightly. "plus, she already has her eyes on pretty boy over there." he then nodded towards the two.
gwen was struggling to ignore some sort of joke trent was trying to crack at her, trying and failing to hide a small smile. cody felt slightly upset, but shrugged it off.
"i guess i should, heh." he rubbed the back of his head, already over it. noah patted his back in mock sympathy, obviously not caring, but cody still grinned a little from the gesture. "you're noah, right?" he started, turning towards the boy. he received a nod and an eyebrow raise.
"yeah. and you're cody, aren't you?" he also nodded as another awkward silence started up.
before cody could continue, he heard chris announce the next challenge. loudly, might i add.
"uhm...i'll see you around, dude."
noah watched as he walked off awkwardly.
what an...odd individual.
the annoyed look on his face returned when he realised he had actual things to do.
