Day 3 - Writer

"ARG!"
With a growl of frustration, you mash the backspace key on your computer. You watch as the cursor backtracks across your screen, undoing the last half hour of work. "No, No, NO!!!!" You snarl, stabbing the backspace a few more times before relenting and leaning back from your computer.
"Writer's Block again?"
You look over your shoulder to find your roommate peering into your room. Jane is use to the sounds you make when writing becomes tough. You groan and spin your chair away from your desk, "Block? More like the Great Writer's Wall of China."
Jane snorts as she steps in your room, "Dramatic much?"
Your glare is short lived because you like your roomie too much to stay angry with her, "I have a deadline coming up in a couple months and I have nothing! My agent keeps bugging me for a rough draft of the first couple chapters and I have two pages of garbage. My publisher is gonna dump me, I know it!"
Jane plops down on the edge of your bed and chuckles, "Who would have though that trashy romance was such a high pressure genre."
"Hey!" You yelp, "The Pirate's Bride series is trashy HISTORICAL romance, I'll have you know! And you don't realize how brutal this genre is. If I don't keep producing, my fans will switch over to that hack Maxwell and her Knight's Conquest series..... or worse, Torrid's Victorian Vixens series. Have you read that schlock? She uses the word 'like' every five words!"
Jane lets you vent for a bit before jumping in, "Well.... I think you need to get out of here. Breath some fresh air. Meet someone new."
You give Jane a side eye, "You're trying to set me up with someone, aren't you?"
"Yes." Jane admits, "Don't look at me like that, please! He's Thor's brother and I promised I'd find him a date."
You crane your head back and stare at the ceiling, hoping for some divine intervention but find nothing but that crack that looks like Harry Potter's lightning scar.
"Please." Jane uses that tone that always makes your resolve crack, "Just one double date."
You make a noise like you're gargling glass before huffing, "Fine. One date!"
With a small squeal, Jane jumps to her feet and heads for your bedroom door. "Awesome!" She shouts over her shoulder, "Get dressed. We meet them in an hour."
You blink, staring at the spot your best friend just inhabited. "An Hour?" You shout after her before groaning, "What have I gotten myself into?"

With a groan, Loki raises a hand to wipe at his eyes before staring up at an unfamiliar ceiling. He blinks a few times, frowning at the lightning bolt shaped crack before his memories catch up to him.
His brother had strong armed him into going on a date with his girlfriend and her roommate. The last thing Loki wanted was yet another attempt by Thor to force him into public interactions. He would much rather curl up with a good book and a cup of tea then sit in an overly loud restaurant and make small talk with a woman who cares more about her cellphone then her own family. But, Thor had won out and dragged him to some little back alley cafe where he kept an eye out for any possible escape roots.
Then Jane walked in dragging you along behind her. Those escape roots vanished from Loki's mind the moment he caught sight of your awkward form half hidden behind his brother's girlfriend. In an instant, the evening went from potential disaster to something much more promising.
The click-clack of computer keys catches Loki's attention and draws him away from his memories. He looks over and finds you hunched over your keyboard. You're pounding the keys with a manic energy and your eyes are darting across the screen. Wearing nothing but an overly large shirt and lit by the computer screen, you look like an absolute angel.
A pleased smile spreads across Loki's face as his memories of what happened after the date play across his mind. The wonderful ache in his muscles confirm just how.... energetic the two of you have been. His back stings from the scratches you enthusiastically left there and his loins are a bit sensitive from the amount of use they got.
"Save!" You hiss before smashing one last key. Loki watches you lean back, a look of satisfaction on your face as you turn towards him. "Hey, uh... I wanna thank you."
Loki raises an eyebrow, "For?"
You run your hands through your tousled hair, doing nothing to fix the mess Loki's own hands made of it. "I've been stuck for weeks. Haven't been able to write jack squat and then you showed up and...." A radiant smile spreads across your face, making Loki's heart skip a beat, "It's like a dam burst in my head and I couldn't get the ideas down fast enough. You're the inspiration I needed to write my next book!"
"Oh." Loki says, momentarily at a lose for words, "You're welcome then."
Still smiling, you stand up from your computer chair, revealing what Loki suspected. You're wearing nothing but your shirt, long shapely legs on full display. Crossing the room, you reach for the hem of your shirt and pull it over your head, giving Loki an eyeful of your naked form. You drop the shirt on the floor before grabbing the sheet covering Loki's body and pull it away, leaving him as naked as yourself.
Crawling onto your bed, you straddle Loki's waist, "How about.... you give me a little more....." You bite your lip and grind yourself against Loki's hips, "Inspiration."
Groaning, Loki reaches for your waist before smirking up at you, "My dear, it would be an honor to give you all the.... inspiration.... you need."

Three Months Later....
You tear into the package as soon as it arrives. Cardboard and paper fly as you behold your latest novel....
"Winds of Desire: A Pirate's Bride Novel"
Instead of your usual cover art, showing the massive blond form of Captain Johnathan Cutthroat and the diminutive brunette shape of Princess Catherine in each other's arms, this time there's two new characters. Well.... not really.
Lady Christine Dorne has been an important character in the previous five novels. Lady in Waiting to Princess Catherine, she's been there from the beginning. From Captain Johnathan's abduction of the Princess to their falling in love and to their wedding in the previous book. She's done everything in her power to help her Princess and best friend find her happy ending with the man she loves, even taking a knife to the gut meant for Johnathan.
She's proven to be a popular character with your fans and now Lady Christine is getting her moment to shine.
You open the book to read the summery, "Mistaken for Princess Catherine, her best friend Lady Christine is abducted by rival pirates only to be stolen from them by the rakish Captain Thomas Williamson. Lady Christine is torn between her loyalty to her Princess and the seductive silver tongue of Captain Williamson. Loyalty or love? Christine must chose as she's swept upon the ..... Winds of Desire!"
You close the book and admire the artwork, especially the dashing figure of Captain Thomas. His shirt half open, showing off a generous amount of well muscled chest. His shoulder length raven black hair blowing in the breeze. His sharp jawline that could cut diamonds. And those eyes, those piercing green eyes that seem to stare out at you.
You clutch the book to your chest feeling a bit giddy. You can't wait to show your boyfriend your newest book. Maybe afterwards, Loki will feel the need to.... 'inspire' you to write another one.
