catch my heart (go swim)

Summary:

Wednesday should’ve said no. She should’ve sent Enid on her merry way back to her own bed. It would’ve been easier and less complicated than this.

Wednesday couldn’t make her way to sleep.

She ended up staring at the ceiling while Enid puffed out slow, steady breaths. The blonde's head replacing the weight of what would’ve been Wednesday's hands on her own chest. Her body was hot, skin burning up where Enid’s hands had snuck under her sweatshirt, delicate digits unconsciously grazing over her stomach.

Or

You watch as Enid and Wednesday navigate their way through a relationship.

Chapter 1: cute

Summary:

Wednesday is intent on taking a nap. Enid is intent on being held.

Chapter Text

The atmosphere of their room never changed after they had established their relationship-Wednesday was very grateful for that. They weren’t very affectionate behind closed doors. Enid was too worried about scaring Wednesday away and Wednesday was waiting for Enid to initiate something. So for the time being they were settled on fist bumps and high-fives until Enid got the courage to do something about it.

So there was never a single moment that felt different, charged with anticipation. They were allowed to sit in their own space and simply enjoy the other's company without any hidden intentions.

Until today.

It was all too much. Too much talking, too much noise. Wednesday needed some time alone. She thought of her alone time as moments where she could cleanse herself from the rambunctious and boisterous activities from the day. Be truly by herself.

She was going to take a nap.

If Wednesday was going to spend any time alone that wasn’t for writing, she would much rather be spending it unconscious.

She laid on her back, eyes shut, arms pressed cross against her chest. Breathing rhythmically. deep breathe in. exhale out. Deep breath i-

“Can I join you,” Enid’s sickly sweet voice cut through her bubble.

The raveness hesitated for a second, “Hurry up.”

Wednesday soaked up the feeling. She wanted to melt into Enid’s delicate touch, fade away into the other body, and stay like this forever.

Enid pressed herself deeper into Wednesday, nuzzling her face into her girlfriend's neck as if she unconsciously was aware of her lover's thoughts. Her arms squeezed around Willa's waist, tightening her grip. It was possessive almost, Enid's way of saying ‘mine’. She sleepily mumbled into Willa's skin, and puffed out a little breath before returning back to a peaceful sleep.

The sunset caught on her face, illuminating warm yellow on her pale. A small smile tugged at the werewolf’s perfect pink lips. Cute.

It was weird having someone rest on top of her, Wednesday knew this. She wasn’t someone people were comfortable with. She made them uncomfortable, her presence became known as one to be cautious around and feared. So how was it that there was someone who was able to feel relaxed like this. To be completely vulnerable around such an unreliable selfish person .

Wednesday assumed that Enid was crazy, but now that she had found her, Wednesday didn’t plan on letting her go anytime soon. She had a hand on Enid’s back tracing little circles into the fabric of her girlfriends sleep shirt all, while her other hand played with the ends of Enid’s hair.

Wednesday's way of saying ‘mine’.

“Willa, go to sleep.” Her voice was muffled, the words vibrating into Wednesday's neck.

That was new. When did she wake up?

“I am sleeping.”

Enid moaned, unwrapping herself out of Wednesday's arms to look at her. “You don’t look asleep to me?” She spoke still in a drowsy state, her voice was raspy laced with sleep.

“I can sleep with my eyes open,” Wednesday deadpanned. “It’s a rare trait that not very many people hold, so I understand you not knowing.”

Enid let out a little giggle, holding her down while she laughed, so it would hit Wednesday's chest. “Shut up.” She looked down at Wednesday-when she was done with her teasing laugh-who was giving her these eyes. Daydreamy eyes that twinkled at Enid like she was the prettiest thing in the world.

A smile shone on Wednesday's lips, one that was toothier than she would normally give to anyone else. “You look cute.”

Enid looked like she just woke up from a nap, disheveled hair, smudged lipstick. Her eyes still held a sleepy look in them. But it didn’t stop Wednesday from giving the compliment or Enid from placing a hand on her girlfriends chin, turning Willa’s face upward to face hers. She leaned down their lips inches away from each other. Wednesday’s lips were slightly parted ‘I’m ready’, but Enid missed it.

“I should get up, if I stay any longer I might not sleep through the night,” she cleared her throat, turning away from her lover.

“No,” Wednesday wrapped her arms around Enid's waist pulling her back down onto the black sheets. “You owe me. I never got to sleep.”

Enid rolled her eyes, “Fine, but if you’re not sleep in five minutes I’m leaving.” Wednesday laid her head down on Enid’s chest-just to see what the fuss was about-she sighed, it felt nice. This was nice.
