Chapter Text
The bus was filled with eager young campers. Kids talking, singing, and laughing along as the bus takes them to Camp Campbell. And for the original trio, Nerris, Dolph and Neils girlfriend, Annie, they were sitting at the back of the bus.
“I have to say, Max. I’m surprised that you haven’t got a girlfriend yet.” said Nerris. “Yah! We were expecting to see you and Nikki be boyfriend and girlfriend by now.” said Dolph. “Say, Max, you haven’t finish sharing your story about that hike you and Nikki had alone.” said Annie. “Oh, noooooooo! I refuse!” said Max. “I also refuse to share!” said Nikki, as she crosses her arms and look away.
“Well, I must mention that you two have become a lot closer after our first summer here.” said Neil. “Like how on your Instagram page, all the photos you two appear in together, you always have your arms over each other.” Nerris said, cheekily. “Oh, please! There’s nothing more special than being best friends. All the love and affection things are cringe by far.” said Max.
The bus stopped. They finally arrived at camp. All the kids cheered as they rushed off the bus to be greeted by David and some new woman.
“Goooooooooood morning, happy go campers! Welcome to Camp Campbell! My name is David, and this is Victoria, and we will be your camp counsellors!” David said, eagerly. Victoria just stoon there, not moving or saying anything.
Not a second later, David notices a familiar bunch of children exiting the bus. “Max?! Nikki? Neil? Nerris and Dolph?!” David said in shock. “And this is Annie. She’s, my girlfriend.” said Neil. “Well, that’s fantastic! If you’re happy, I’m happy!” David cheered.
“Your girlfriend looks funny looking.” Victoria said, rudely. “Yeah, well you look like Shrek's sweaty ball sack!” Max shouted. The crowd of kids busted out laughing.
“Now, Max. I know how you’d acted when you first came here, I do not want a repeat like before.” David said, sternly. “She literally made a rude comment on a new girl.” said Max.
David ignores Max.
“Well, listen up, campers! We will show you where all the important places of this amazing summer camp.” said David, as he started marching over to the mess hall.

“Well, Annie seems nice.” said Max, as he is sorting out his cot. “I’m apparently the coolest kid at school, according to her.” said Neil. "So, she’s from Andorra, right?” Max asked. “Yep.”
“Y’know, it’s just us two, now. No one, hopefully, is around listening to our conversation. You can tell me what happened on that hike back in 2016.” said Neil. “Oh, God! I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again! We just locked eyes in a weird way. Get over it!” Max moaned.

“...and I told him that my mother is a lawyer, and he ran off crying!” Nikki almost died of laughter, telling a story to Nerris. “Nikki, you have one crazy school life. I wonder how you haven’t had any boys taking an interest in you yet.” said Nerris. “Oh, I doubt I’ll have a boyfriend before the age of 25.” said Nikki, drastically. “Don’t beat yourself up. There’re a few boys our age here; well, that aren’t Max or Neil.” Nerris rolled her eyes. “I think I’m going to be fine being single for now. I know teenagers supposed to have some sort of romantic relationship at some point after getting over some stupid childhood crush, we had when we were 10, or something.” said Nikki.
“Yeah, who hasn’t had a silly childhood crush?” Nerris chuckled. “Errr, me! I never had a crush on anyone before. I have no idea how it feels!” said Nikki, as she laughs weirdly.
“What’s wrong, Nikki?” Nerris asked. Nikki curled up in a ball and dropped herself into her cot. “What if I do develop feelings for someone? What does it feel like? More importantly, how to control it?” she worried.
“Ah, don’t worry, Nikki. We’re here. You’ve got me, Max, Neil, Dolph, and Annie. We can help you through it all.” said Nerris, calmly. “Thanks, Nerris.
