Work Text:
It started off with their first fight, seven years ago, as they were sent to test each other, that’s when the sparks first ignited. Something reeled him in the moment he first set his eyes on Park Jonggun and it reeled him in real deep.
Sometimes he wishes it didn’t, that he could turn back the clock and never meet him at all.
Every punch felt like a kiss, a hot iron rod prodding at his flesh, burning him as a punishment for daring to challenge the other, yet it left him wanting even more. Until he could feel the familiar bitter, coppery tang taste of blood in his mouth, dripping down to chin as he smiled.
Shouts of “yes, that’s it.” and promises of not going easy on each other has led them to this point
Both of them bleeding, and bruised, the fight seeming endless until their legs gave way, harshly scraped knees buckling against the floor, only left to stare blankly at each other’s eyes, as they lay on the rough asphalt round
Goo heard the other inhale sharply, his ribs probably fractured from the way he took a lungful of the air, sputtering as he slowly sat up, while Goo was still laying on the ground trying to regain some strength, he probably broke a bone or two, maybe even more than that.
Gun took out a cigarette pack from his front pocket, taking one, his scarred hands trembling ever so slightly as he looked for his light.
Gun turned over to Goo, reaching his hand out, cigarette in palm, as if motioning to ask if he wanted the cigarette.
As if.
Goo just swatted his hand away in annoyance, cigarette falling to the ground, Gun just picked it back up, and continued to brush it off on his bloodied clothes.
“I don’t smoke.” Goo replied, voice hoarse, his throat hurt, well, everything hurt right now
“Suit yourself.” Gun said, pressing the cigarette against his lips, inhaling the smoke greedily, as he sighed in relief.
Goo didn’t get a chance to look at Gun properly during their fight earlier, now was a better time than any, he turned his neck to glance at the other, ignoring the painful stretch of his nerves, the feeling as if there were needles pricking deeply inside, calling out to stop the torture he was putting himself through.
Gun Park was something beyond his expectations, and not just through his fighting capabilities.
His eyes didn’t shine brightly, in fact they did the exact opposite, luring you into the trance of the void, with the two white pearls sitting on the edge of it all. His sculpted face morphed into one of seriousity, crescent eyebrows furrowed while taking another long drag of his cigarette, puffing out the smell of smoke everywhere which pissed Goo off even more.
Nothing about his features were soft, besides his chapped lips, you couldn’t tell but maybe if he actually moisturised there’d be a difference, Goo thought to himself, chuckling.
Oh, and that newly opened gash right between his eyes, the one flowing wound currently dripping blood onto Gun’s cigarette and shirt, staining it with the crimson liquid. Goo winced slightly seeing the severity of it
Ooh.. that’s gonna leave a nasty scar.
It added to his face even more, how annoying, Goo had just done him a favor with this fight.
Gun suddenly looked at him, his face more relaxed now, taking another hit at his cig
“That was good.” Gun coughs out, his voice sounding roughed up from the fight as well
“What?” Goo says, confused, the ache in his chest making it hard to talk or think at all
“The fight, I mean. You were good.” Gun repeated, looking back into the fake blondes eyes, his own still dripping with crimson in the middle. Goo is taken aback for a moment at this sentence, then his face pulls into a wide toothy grin.
“Oh, I know I’m good.” Goo replies, sounding cocky even while beaten down on the rocky pavement.
He’ll never forget this moment, it’s now ingrained into his brain. Every little detail of how they fought, it was raw, absolutely chaotic and violent, And it took his ability to think away even if it was just for that mere second Gun looked at him.
The hell am I thinking?? This isn’t some love at first fight type of bull crap.
Goo shook his head, or atleast, tried to while mentally kicking himself. Attempting to sit up, he hissed at the sharp pain in his body. It hurt all over, he really did break some bones, huh.
…
“Mind helping a guy out over here?” Goo said, placing a hand on his chest, checking for the most prominent spot that hurt. “ Augh , I think I broke a rib.”
“Nah.” Gun replied, smirking.
“You- I really should’ve beaten your ass to a pulp!” Goo spat out, still feeling the ache within his body grow more and more agonizing
Gun scoffs at his situation, standing up as he finally throws his cigarette away, it hits the ground quickly without a sound, he put the last remaining light within it out with the heel of his tattered shoe, looking over at Goo on the ground.
“Ah , fine! Come on, help me up.. please?” Goo groaned, reaching out an arm weakly towards Gun, “You’ve already got me begging for it.”
Gun turns his back and shakes his head tauntingly. Just as he’s about to walk away, suddenly his phone, still surviving by some type of miracle, rings abruptly.
The raven haired man pauses, and pulls out the phone to accept the call, raising it to his ear,
Silence ensues until he can faintly hear someone on the other line
“Yes, chairman. ” Gun murmurs, after some more silence and words that Goo cant hear, Gun lets out an exasperated sigh and replies “No, chairman.” and hits the end call button.
Gun hesitantly turns back around and walks towards the still floored Goo, his steps heavy as you could hear the weight on them, grabbing Goo by his arm as the other yelped out from the sudden motion, propping him up
“Hey… Hey! That fuckin hurts!” Goo whined, propping himself against Gun’s shoulder for support, leaning on the man.
“Shut up.” Gun hissed angrily, holding Goo reluctantly, obviously bummed out by the orders from Charles, his face pulled into a scowl.
“What’s with the switch up?” Goo questioned as they started slowly walking “I thought you were gonna leave me for dead? Change your mind?”
“No. I couldn’t care less if you died.” Gun replied bitterly “I’m just following the Chairman’s orders.”
“Wow, Lucky me .” Goo said, voice full of sarcasm, still limping as they walked.
