It was sometime after 3pm and they had just finished dance practice for the day. They had a short break before they had to do some vocal recording and Hyunjin had decided to make a quick trip to the nearest Starbucks to get himself an americano and maybe a little snack as well, because he was feeling a little bit peckish and in desperate need of coffee. 

As he left the practice room he asked if any of the other members wanted anything and they all declined his offer, but thanked him for asking. He grabbed his jacket and made sure he had his wallet in his pocket, before he walked out of the door and down the hall towards the elevator. As he reached the ground floor he exited the elevator and walked to the exit of the building. 

When Hyunjin got to the exit, he put on his face mask and hat to disguise himself from any fans that might be lurking in the area. He walked out of the door and down the street towards the nearest Starbucks. 

The weather was on the sunny side with a mild breeze running pass Hyunjin’s face as he walked down the street. He stopped for a moment to just enjoy the wind and the sun on his face, as he had been inside the stuffy dance practice room most of the day and hadn’t gotten much fresh air or sun in the last couple of days, since they have been preparing for their next comeback which was set to be in a few weeks and they had to perfect the dance for the title track. 

He put his headphones on and started to walk down the street, getting lost in the music and the nice weather. Suddenly his music was interrupted by the sound of an incoming text message. Hyunjin pulled his phone out with a frown wondering who was texting him. 

It was Felix. 

Hyunjin smiled and opened the messages to see what his boyfriend had sent him, as he did that multiple messages came in at rapid speed.

Hyunjin let out a little laugh at the way his boyfriend had texted him and shook his head at how silly Felix was and how endearing he found it. Hyunjin knew he was so deeply whipped for the other boy that it was absolutely tooth rotting sweet. Just like Felix’s coffee order apparently.

i can do that for sure, are you sure you want 5 pumps? 

Hyunjin answered and put his phone back in his pocket as he continued to walk down the street. He managed to reach the Starbucks before he got a response from Felix again.

Hyunjin smiled as he shot a message back to Felix and pushed the door open to the coffee shop and stepped inside.

Hyunjin pocketed his phone again, before stepping up to the counter and waiting for a server to come up to the register, so he could place his order. He pulled his headphones as a server came up to him.

“Hi and welcome to Starbucks, what could I get for you today?” the server said with a smile. 

“A grande iced americano and a grande iced americano with 5 pumps of caramel syrup, thank you,” Hyunjin answered and pulled out his wallet to pay.

“That is going to be ₩7.500, sir and what name can I write on the order?” 

“Uh, Jinnie is alright,” Hyunjin answered knowing he couldn’t give his actual name in fear of being recognised. 

“Alright, sir, if you could just scan your card on the machine, then your coffee will be ready in just a few minutes and handed to you further down the counter,” the server said with a smile and gestured for Hyunjin to move down the line and wait at the other end of the counter. 

“Thank you,” he said with a bow and stepped away and down to the other end of the counter and waited for the coffee. While he waited, he looked around the coffee shop and observed the other people, who were sitting around and having a nice cup of coffee. His eyes fell on a couple in the corner who was sitting close to each other and whispering to each other. Hyunjin smiled at them behind his mask, but also felt the sadness fill him as he knew he and Felix could never have that in public. 

Not only were gay couples looked down upon in South Korea, but with them being idols, they couldn’t publically be a couple either, since it could ruin the reputation that Stray Kids had and send their career down the drain. Of course the other members knew about Hyunjin and Felix's relationship, but they all knew to keep it under the wraps together with the other relationships there were in Stray Kids. Hyunjin knew he was lucky, that the rest of the group accepted them and everyone else, so they at least had some safe space to be themselves with each other. 

“One normal grande americano and one grande americano with 5 pumps of caramel for Jinnie,” the server called and placed the cups on the counter. Hyunjin turned to the counter and picked up the coffees, thanked the server and walked towards the door. He spared one glance at the couple again as he pushed the door open and walked out of the coffee shop.

As Hyunjin was walking back towards the company building he got curious about Felix's order and how it possibly tasted. Hyunjin then raised the cup up to his mouth and took a small sip and immediately cringed and felt like spitting it out again. 

It was so goddamn sweet.

Hyunjin stared at the cup in horror and wondered how the hell his boyfriend could drink something so sweet and not be in a constant state of sugar rush and have really bad cavities. He guessed that Felix was probably used to it and took good care of his teeth in the end. 

Suddenly Hyunjin had a thought and he pulled out his phone with a smile and opened it to Bubble.

Hyunjin laughed at his silly joke, even though it was very much true, that the coffee is just as sweet as Felix was and it made Hyunjin break out in a massive grin. Felix was really one of the sweetest people he had ever had the pleasure of meeting and that he was so lucky that Felix had fallen just as much for him as he had for Felix.

Hyunjin looked down at his phone as the responses from Stays slowly trickled in and a lot of them made him both laugh and cringe. But most of them were just Stays thinking it was cute how Hyunjin described the coffee and agreed with him that Felix was very sweet. Hyunjin could only smile at that and agree. 

He put his phone back in his pocket and continued his walk back to the company. 

He finally reached the company and entered the building. He made the short trek to the elevator and pushed the button up to the floor where their training room was. He walked down the hall to the room and he could slowly hear the other members. They were really a loud group, since he could hear them nearly all the way down the hall from where he came from.

He pushed open the door and was immediately jumped by Felix, who gave him a massive kiss on the cheek and reached for his coffee.

“Thank you so much for that, Hyune,” Felix said with a massive smile and took a huge sip of the coffee and cringed at it. 

“Oh my gosh, why is it so sweet?” he exclaimed and looked up at Hyunjin like it was Hyunjin's fault that the coffee was so sweet. Hyunjin looked back at him in confusion.

“But that is what you wanted?” he asked.

“Not this sweet, how much did you ask them to put in?” Felix asked him again and frowned down at his cup.

“Five pumps of caramel, just like you asked for,” Hyunjin said, puzzled. He pulled his phone out to show Felix what he had sent him.

Felix looked at it for a while and then looked up at Hyunjin with a guilty look on his face.

“I meant to say three pumps,” he said in a quiet voice. He looked down at the coffee again as the feeling of stupidity and shame filled his body as he realised he had tried to blame his boyfriend for his own mistake.

Hyunjin laughed at him and pulled him into him with a massive smile and leaned down to give him a sweet kiss on the lips. 

“As I told Stays on Bubble then it is a coffee just like you, sweet to the core. Don’t feel bad about it, sweet sweet boy,” Hyunjin said with a smile and a reassuring voice as he pulled away from Felix. 

Felix blushed at that and buried his head in Hyunjins chest with a groan, but he couldn’t argue with his boyfriend on that at all. He sighed and raised his head to look up at Hyunjin with a pout on his face. Hyunjin just smiled down at the other boy and kissed the pout away from Felix's face. 

“Ahem, not to break up this disgustingly cute display of affection, but we have to get back to practice. You can continue this later for all I care,” Minho interrupted. He gave them a blank stare as the two boys pulled away from each other with a flush and apologised to the other boy, who just brushed them off. 

Hyunjin sent a small smile to Felix and walked over to the side, where he placed his coffee and started stretching and getting ready, so they could continue their practice. 

Felix smiled and shook his head and decided that he needed to tell Stays about this dumb mishap. He pulled out his phone and started to type out the messages as he continued to drink his coffee, even though it was overly sweet and made him pull a face every time he took a sip. 

Once the messages were sent, he looked over at Hyunjin again and smiled. He put his pocket back in his pocket and didn’t think much about what he had sent and got ready for practice again.
