Work Text:
He stomped into the medbay prepared to give the rat a speech about being reckless but was welcomed by an empty bed. No rats to be seen in the room. Great. He rushed out and headed towards Sage’s office hoping the man in question was there.
“Breach, do you need anything from me?” Always calm and always polite, except when strong motherly hand was needed, Sage smiled at him the moment he opened the door.
“Thought the rat might be here, he’s missing” Her expression immediately changed to ‘not surprised and not impressed’, she took her comm and tried to call Cypher. Signal was beeping but no answer. She sighed resigned and got up from the chair. “Let’s look for him, go ahead and I will inform others to help us.” Breach nodded and went straight to elevator to get to the bottom floor where Cypher had his den.
“What’s the sour face big guy?” Phoenix greets him inside the elevator but as soon as he said this Sage’s message came in and he whined annoyed. “I was about to watch movies with Jett and Neon…now we have to look for him?”
“Stop whining the sooner we find him the sooner you can go back to your cringe TV show”. Breach didn’t even wait for the remark as the elevator stopped and the door opens.
He stopped in front of doors to Cypher’s room and look up looking for the camera, usually it make itself present when someone was in front of the room but not this time. He banged at the door few times but still no movement. He looked around for tripwires hoping that triggering one might ping rat’s attention but he found nothing. This might indicate that Cypher wasn’t in his room since they came back from the mission. Where the fuck did he goes?
After two hours of searching through the base the whole team met in the dining room, some of them looked worried some irritated. No traces and no answer on the comm. Sage was trying to keep calm but she was worried, she patched him up but the risk of opening wounds was too high.
“There is no way he left the base, not in his state” Killjoy adjusted her glasses as she was trying to remember Amir’s favourites hiding spots when he wanted to be alone and not bothered. “He must be somewhere when he feels safe but if he is not in his room…”.
“Well I don’t know about him but I always feel safe in yours querida” Raze wrapped her arm around the engineer making her blush. Rest of the duellists whistled and cheered up excited except of Reyna who was drinking her coffee at the far end of the room. She didn't want to have anything to do with the rest of the group today. After the total disaster on Pearl she had to take few painkillers for her headache and calming ones not to kill her friends. She noticed Breach almost running out of the room but said nothing, right now she couldn't care less if the rat would die in the sewers.
There is no way, why would he be there. Breach finally reached his room and stopped to listen for a moment. No sounds. He opens the door as quiet as he could and noticed the room was completely dark. The blinders were closed, which was not done by him. He looked around and the first thing he noticed was Cypher’s hat on his chair. He moved further into the bedroom and on his bed he could see an arm sticking out from under multiple covers.
“Found him... he’s in my room can you bring something to eat and drink for him?” He said it as quiet as he could over the communicator but it still woke up the sleeping man. He moved under the covers and a whine escaped his mouth as his wound reminded him its still there fresh and not fully healed.
“Breach?” He said weakly as he pulled the cover from his nose and eyes. The mattress sank under the extra weight.
“If you were not injured I would beat your ass so hard right now you know that?”
“You mean fucked right?”
“No, beat, with a belt”
“Kinky”
“Fuck you”
“Later, I’m tired and injured”
“Fuck off”
They stay silent but eventually Amir couldn’t hold it back any longer and starts laughing before he whined as his injury reminded him of its presence once more. Breach didn’t laugh, he normally would but he was still angry and disappointed.
“What happened there, why did you rushed at them like a rabid rat.”
“I don't know. I know its their job but sometimes I wonder if some of them have braincells at all. In those situations sometimes I think I loose my braincells as well because I want to help and not sit in one place waiting to be cornered from all sides while my team bites the dust.” He tried to pull the cover over his head again but a metallic hand stopped him.
“I know its frustrating, and there are some days I do stupid shit too...”
“Yea but you are listening to me most of the time, if I tell you don’t go there I have everything set up I got it, you always listen.” They looked at each other and Breach finally relaxed a little bit. He brushed the messy hair from Amir’s forehead and leaned to kiss him. They never kissed like that, it was always rushed and full of passion and with promise of sex. This time he kissed the Moroccan slowly and carefully like he was afraid to break him. The door hissed open and suddenly light was turned on. They both groaned from a sudden flash bang in the eyes.
“I’m sorry” Sage entered with a tray in hand, she sounded far from sorry and by her face Breach could tell she was still annoyed at the spy. He decided to stay at his side for a little bit longer, it was always amusing when the two sentinels argued and he could feel it coming. Besides he had to make sure the rat stays in bed this time and as he was currently in his bed he could have an eye on him while he was tinkering at the desk. It’s a win-win situation. Or so he thought.
