Summary
Sequel to The Convict. Levana has been captured by the Necromongers, and Converted, but she retains her sense of self, even as Kyra did at the end of Chronicles of Riddick. She becomes a soldier, and advances quickly through the ranks under the tutelage of young Sub-Commander Vaako. However, when he marries a young noble with a very dark and manipulative mind, the friendship of the thief and the Sub-Commander is threatened. Throw in an ex-convict and ex-cellmate, and what could possibly go wrong for Levana?
