Chapter Text

It was a cold night as Regulus pulled up his hood and trudged down the path, the faint rattling sound of the cans in his bag the only sign of his presence. He ducked into an alleyway and dumped his bag on the floor carefully. A mask was at the top of the bag's contents and he put it on quickly. He pulled out a can labelled Sea green and took off the cap.

After shaking it, Regulus sprayed a quick line near the floor to test it. It was clear and he raised it to the wall. He sprayed a quick phrase, "Protect Trans Kids". Pulling out 3 more cans, a light blue and pink with a white, he drew a flag around the words. After he had finished, he pulled down his mask and took a quick moment to admire his work.

He pulled out his burner phone and took a photo before grabbing his bag and slinging it on his back. The streetlights were on and he looked up the sky. He saw the constellation he was named after and looked away. His phone rang and he pulled it out. The contact had a name he knew all too well. "Bartyyyyy" was emblazoned on the screen and he picked it up.
"Yes?"
"What are you doing!" The boy, Barty, on the other line basically screamed in his ear.

"Going home." Regulus left out a tired sigh before adding, "Why"
"I'm bored!"
"I can tell." Regulus was about to hang up when Barty said,
"Dad's on my back, again, because I told him I didn't want to play in another match." Regulus paused and spoke,
"You can come to mine in half an hour, okay?"
"I'll be there!" Regulus could hear the smile in Barty's voice as he hung up.

The walk home was quiet and he saw a squirrel run up a tree near his house as he hopped over the wall that surrounded the building. The gate was creaky and would wake up everyone in the house if he opened it, so he just climbed over the bricks to avoid getting hit. He crept to the bathroom window at the back of the house and climbed in. He shut the window and left the bathroom.

He snuck up the stairs to his room and pulled his drawers forward. Behind them, there was a little vent that was always shut and he shoved his bag into it before putting the drawers back. Regulus changed quickly, sitting on his bed in just pajama trousers and his binder. A thud on his window pulled his direction from writing his homework on fucking physics and he hauled himself off his bed. He looked out and saw Barty standing below his window.

Opening the window, Barty whisper-yelled, "How the absolute fuck do I get in!?" Regulus shrugged,
"Figure it out.", he replied, before turning to sit back down on his bed. After a few minutes, a few faint rattles are heard outside before Barty's head pops up in the window.
"I hate you so much." He mumbled and climbed through the window.
Regulus looked up at him in confusion before asking,
"Wait, how did you get up here?" He got up and looked out the window. There was a ladder underneath the window.

"Okay, how the fuck did you find a ladder?" He said a bit too loudly. Barty just walked over and pointed to a bush outside, that enveloped part of the wall surrounding the house.
"It was under that bush." Regulus sighed and whispered, whilst pinching the bridge of his nose slightly,
"For fucks sake Sirius... You fucking idiot..!"

Barty flopped onto Regulus' bed as he spoke.
"What were you doing before I showed up?"
"Ugh... Physics homework." Barty groaned as Regulus answered him and smiled. Regulus smiled back and asked, "So, what do you want to do?" Barty's grin widened.
"Makeover?" Regulus sighed and walked over to his drawers.
"You are so lucky that my parents still make me dress up."

Barty sat up and replied chirpily,
"I know!"
