Sam is sitting at the table with a cat carrier. The cat distribution system decided choose him today.
Flashback:
Sam was walking to the car with a few groceries. As he opens the trunk, he hears faint meowing. He searches around and in a bush he finds a small fully gray kitten. How could he leave a kitten there? So, he scoops the cat up in his arms and hops in the car.
He arrives at the vet with the gray kitten wrapped in his brown jacket. He checks in at the front desk of the vet.
"Hi, I just found this kitten in a parking lot bush. Do you think someone could take a look at it?" Sam explains.
"Yeah of course. Just sign this and.. what's your name?" The woman at the front desk asks.
"Uh, Sam Winchester." He states.
"Okay great, a vet will be with you in a few minutes. Please wait in the waiting room." She smiles towards him and the little kitten asleep in his arms.
Sam sits down as he pets the kitten with one finger on the head. Sam's heart is melting. But what's Dean going to think?
Dean is more of a no pet kinda guy and Sam is a huge dog person, but he has a huge soft spot for kittens. They've never really clashed on opinions over cats and dogs, except when Dean had the ever loving shit scared out of him by a cat in a locker. But that's besides the point. Dean loves his brother so surely he'd let him keep it.
The vet calls his name, Sam rises from his seat and follows the vet back to a room.
The vet takes a look, gives the kitten shots to prevent worms and other diseases and does a bunch of tests and scans to make sure the kitten was completely healthy.
"She's a little girl by the way." The vet says.
"Oh, great." Sam smiles politely.
"Do you have a name for her yet?"
"No, not yet.." Sam ponders.
A few moments later, the vet is done and puts her in a carrier. He tells Sam he's free to leave and to have a good day. Sam pays at the front desk and leaves. He puts the carrier in the passenger seat and put the seatbelt around it so it didn't fly and he drives home.
Flashback End
As he plays with the kitten inside the carrier, Dean walks in.
"Sammy? What the hell is that?" Dean asks rudely.
"Uh, it's a kitten, I have yet to name her," Sam explains, "I found her in some bushes and took her to a vet."
"Well okay, but you're taking care of it." Dean states firmly.
"Okay, Dean." Sam laughs at him, "So what should we name her?"
"How 'bout Lilith cause she looks like a little devil?" Dean chuckles.
"Sure, it's a pretty name." Sam smiles.
A few weeks pass by with Lilith and shes grown on both of them.
"Okay this little shit isn't so bad." Dean says as he's rubbing her nose.
"See? I told you." Sam jokes.
"Shut up, Bitch." Dean glances at Sam with a dirty look.
”Jerk.” Sam retorts, and smiles softly.
As they were getting ready for bed, Lilith followed Dean to his bedroom. As Dean laid down, Lilith crawled onto his chest.
Dean smiled at this small kitten and fell asleep with Lilith in his arms.
