It was a dark and stormy night. The wind was howling through the trees, making the walls of the small, run down cottage creak and moan. Inside, two men were sitting in opposite corners, ignoring each other. Although a small fire was crackling merrily in the hearth, the room had a chilly feel to it.
The silence was broken momentarily when the dark-haired, bespetacled man readjusted in his seat.
Draco Malfoy sighed. He had never thought the day would come when he'd wish for Weasley's speedy return. It had to have been hours since he left, and being stuck here with Potter was positivily torture.
Nervously, he stole a glance at the other man just as he blew a strand of hair out of his face, and his thoughts went back to earlier that day, as they had been standing on the grassy knoll, receiving instructions.
It had hit him like a brick, and he wondered why he'd never noticed it before. Harry was beautiful, gorgeous. The way his wind swept hair had whipped around his face, his cheeks made delichiously rosy by the cool breeze. He'd felt his heart flutter and stutter, and he wondered why he'd never noticed this before.
Shaking himself, Draco stood and started pacing. Surley it couldn't take this long to buy some food from a muggle shop. Even Weasley should manage that.
The other Aurors were probably off somewhere, having fun, he thought bitterly, while he was stuck here, with these two, on a stupid surveilance mission. It wouldn't have been quite as bad, though, if he handn't noticed these feelings earlier.
The much anticipated arrival of Weasley brought an end to his musings, and he attempted to collect himself.
"All right there Harry, Malfoy?" he asked as he hauled two large shopping bags into the tiny excuse for a kitchen.
"Nothing to report," Harry replied. He pushed out of his chair and went to help with the food. As he went past, Draco could almost feel a breeze, and shuddered.
