Jenny knows Sarah’s been ostracized from the group for a while now, it’s this that makes her break away from the group and approach the other woman, snagging up two glasses of wine before offering one to Sarah as they watch the group meeting.
“It’s not so bad once you get used to it.”
“They accept you…”
“No they don’t, they tolerate me because I didn’t leave.”
Jenny’s voice softens even as she moves a little closer.
“You’ll do fine, just drink the wine and come with me…”
So she does, she drinks the wine, she follows Jenny into the group and she dares to hope that maybe, just maybe, she won’t be ostracized anymore.
