Chapter Text
John Laurens
John picked up the paintbrush, slowly swirling it around the murky water in the plastic cup. He stepped back from the desk, critically examining the tiny painting. Perfect!
Well, close enough. Maybe it needed a few more sunflowers.
He sat back down, scooping up his milkshake to take an absentminded sip when the door to his dorm opened to reveal…
The most beautiful man he had ever laid eyes on.
John rapidly inhaled a bit of his milkshake, choking on it and erupting into a coughing fit. He doubled over, trying to force some words out- “S-sorry- cough- didn’t m-mean- cough- to-”
“Are you okay?” asked the stranger, bending down to him. Not waiting for an answer he forged on. “Good. I’m Alexander Hamilton, your new dormmate. My motto is ‘Write like you’re running out of time!’ Of course, many people-”
“Laurens!” blurted out John. “Uh, sorry, I meant, uh, that’s my name! L-Laurens! Johnrens! No, I meant, um, Laurjohn, wait-”
Don’t look at him, don’t look at him-
There! A distraction! John focused his eyes on the turtle plushie on his desk, taking a deep breath. “John. John Laurens. That’s my name.”
“Well, nice to meet you, John!” Alexander chuckled, his eyes sparkling.
Those eyes…
“I think I left my other bags downstairs, though, I’ll go get them now.” He straightened up, turning towards the door.
“N-nice to meet you too, Alexander.”
Alexander paused. He turned in the doorway, “Call me Alex,” he grinned, flashing John a breathtaking smile.
And then he was gone.
Holy-
John picked up his phone, fumbled through his contacts, and brought it to his ear.
“Pegs, I need your help…”
