“Bruce, how’s it going over there?” Tony yelled across the room. A grunt came in reply.

“Well besides the fact I’m stressing over this PowerPoint and running on fumes, pretty good. But I feel like I’m going to pass out soon.” Bruce said.

“I can get coffee or something? There’s that new place that opened downtown.” Tony offered. “I think it’s called Sanctum or something.” Bruce nodded in agreement. “Just grab two black coffees.” He said as Tony left the room.

The Sanctum was half a mile away. It was modern yet gave a cozy aura around it. Tony walked in, taking note of what it looked like. There were a few people there. A few people sipping coffee and tea and a blonde man wearing an apron and cleaning a table. Walking up to the counter, he began to tell the barista his order.

“Hi. Can I get two large black coffees?” Tony said, flashing the barista a smile.

The barista looked up from the textbook his nose was in. “Yeah, your total is 6.49.” He said, with a quiet voice. “Cash or card?”

“Holy shit,” Tony thought as he handed the guy a ten, telling him to keep the change. The barista had gray eyes framed with gorgeous cheekbones. His hair was a jet-black fluffy mess with white streaks. ‘ Stephen ’ was scrawled on his name tag in barely legible handwriting. “Must be a med student, doctor’s writing.” Tony deduced.

“Can I get a name for the order?” Stephen asked.

“Tony, Tony Stark,” he said, looking into the worker's now blue eyes. “ Maybe they changed color,” Tony thought. “And yours?” He asked, wanting to hear the barista’s soft voice again.

“Stephen Strange,” The barista responded. Even his name fit him. Tony decided right then and there that he had two goals to complete. The first being to grab the coffee and finish their project. The second was to get the cute med student’s number and take him on a date.

“Alright and just finished!” Bruce happily announced as they turned their presentation in. “We should get food to celebrate, I’m thinking coffee and donuts?”

“Hell yeah!” Tony said, “We can go to the Sanctum. Their coffee is really good.” ‘ And their barista is cute too.’ Tony couldn’t stop himself from thinking.

The drive was about five minutes. When they got there, Tony began to search for Stephen. His search was interrupted when Bruce poked him in the side.

“Who is that ?” Bruce asked, pointing to the same blonde man Tony had seen the first day.

“I don’t know,” Tony said, still looking for Strange. “Why don’t you ask?” He said with a shit-eating grin. Bruce rolled his eyes and went to find a seat.

“Tony!” He whipped around to see the cute barista. “The same as usual?”

Tony had been going to the Sanctum for a month, mostly to see Stephen. He nodded and smiled at the worker. Tony stared at his salt-and-pepper hair, mustering up all the courage he had.

“Hey, Steph,” Tony started, noticing the barista blush slightly at the nickname, “I was just wondering if maybe you wanted to hang out after you get off of work?” Stephen flushed.

“S-sure, I get off work at 5:30, here's my number.” He said as he passed Tony the receipt, with his number scrawled onto it. “Call me later,” Stephen said quietly. Tony nodded and grabbed the two cups.

Tony was beaming when he sat back down with Bruce. “Bro, I got the date!” Tony said excitedly, “Maybe I should help you get one with the blonde over there.” Tony said as Bruce rolled his eyes at his friend, blushing slightly.

Glancing over at the barista, Tony grinned, already planning where to take Stephen.
