Work Text:

“I’ve gone blind!” James shouted and you turned around to see Sirius had a hold of his glasses and was furrowing his brow in confusion as he attempted to look through the frames. “Who hexed me?” James called out “everything’s blurry.”

“I think the same things happened to me,” Sirius said, he’d put the glasses on and was inspecting his hand in the low light of the corridor.

“Merlin give me strength,” you muttered under your breath. “You’ve not been hexed James, Sirius has got your glasses.”

“I have?” Sirius asked, tilting his head like a confused puppy “so that’s why everythings blurry, James you are blind mate.”

James attempted to reach out and take his glasses from Sirius but his hand only smacked into his cheek instead. Sirius whipped to the side “Moony did you hit me?” he asked. “No James did” Remus replied and Sirius gasped dramatically, “why did ya hit me prongs?” he asked. You rushed forwards quickly and pulled the lenses from Sirius’ face, gently sliding them back onto James’ nose before a fight could break out.

“There all fixed,” you said, patting his cheek gently. James leaned into your touch and a light red blush spread across his cheeks at the contact. “Thank you” he whispered softly, looking down and you wondered why he’d gone all shy all of a sudden. James Potter was normally anything but shy.

Suddenly Sirius dragged your attention away from James by grasping your hand and spinning you into a twirl. You shrieked at the sudden movement and laughed as you went toppling into Remus.

Despite being drunk he caught you, his hands circling your waist tightly to upright you. “Thanks” you said a little breathlessly and Remus dropped his hands quickly and stepped back. “It was nothing,” he said, scratching the back of his neck and staring at a spot on the ceiling instead of looking into your eyes. You found it adorable how awkward he looked suddenly.

Just as Remus’ arms left another pair of arms slid around you from behind and you leaned back into Sirius’ chest. “You were supposed to fall for me, love” he said a little petulantly. His body was warm and solid and you could faintly smell the notes of his cologne behind the layers of firewhisky.

“All the girls fall for you, Siri” you told him, gently removing his arms. You wished you could stay in the comfort of them a little longer but it was getting late and you had to get the drunkards upstairs before you were caught.

“Every girl but the one I want to fall for me” Sirius muttered. You lifted your brow, you didn’t know that Sirius liked someone. You made a mental note to grill him about it tomorrow.

“Rem come over here please” you said and the tall boy stumbled over to you slightly, he was a lot less drunk than James and Sirius so you decided to ask him to help you drag them upstairs by holding onto Sirius.

“Come on Jamie” you hooked your arm around James’ arm and tried to drag him towards the staircase. “Where’re we goin’?” he slurred. “Bed” you told him and he nodded and rested his head on your shoulder letting you drag him along. He was a lot bigger than you and you buckled under the dead weight of him.

Somehow - you have no idea how - you managed to get the boys upstairs in one piece. You did get shouted at by a few paintings for waking them up and Remus tripped over his own feet more than once and dragged Sirius with him. But they were all upstairs and no one had thrown up so you were going to take that as a win.

“Rooms spinning a bit, y/n/n” James whispered as you guided him towards the bed. “One sec” you pulled out your wand and whispered a quick aguamenti. It filled the glass beside his bed with water and you passed it to him. “Drink this.”

“M sorry we got drunk” Sirius said sleepily, he’d managed to get his feet tangled in the duvet and you chuckled before helping him free himself.

“It’s okay,” you said.

“Why do you always take care of us?” Remus asked as you moved to pass him some water too.

“You guys are my friends, I take care of you because I care about you.” you told him.

Remus blushed as you leant down and pressed a kiss to his cheek. “Sweet dreams Remmy” he reached out and laced his fingers with yours “night y/n/n.”

You moved to James next, the boy was almost asleep and you stroked a few curls away from his face “your pretty” he whispered and then as his eyes fluttered closed “lookin’ after us just like an angel…” you kissed his cheek too, pleased with his sweet words.

Then there was only Sirius left awake. You moved to his bed and made him drink some water too before he drifted off. “Can I tell you a secret?” he asked as you fluffed his pillow “will you promise not to tell y/n?”

You chuckled slightly and held out your pinky “promise” he hooked his finger around yours and squeezed “I fancy her” he said and your eyebrows shot up at the new information. He carried on drunkenly rambling “we all do but I think I fancy her the most because she’s the only girl i’ve ever really fancied. James liked Evans and Remus liked Meadows for ages, I’ve only ever liked y/n.”

You couldn’t believe that your best friends had a crush on you, it made warmth blossom inside of you and you squeezed Sirius’ hand gently before leaning down to kiss his forehead. “Do you know her?” he asked you through a yawn.

“Yeah” you said with a smile “you could say that I do…”

He sighed softly, turning on his side ready to sleep “you’re lucky, she’s amazing” he said “but don’t tell her I said so.”

“I won’t” you whispered but he’d already drifted off. You tiptoed out of the room casting one last glance at the sleeping boys lit by a sliver of the crescent moon. “Sweet dreams boys” you said “sweet dreams.”
