Chapter Text
Other people fall in love easily.
Nene Yashiro is in love with a new guy every week.
Kou Minamoto puts his whole heart into loving people.
Akane Aoi isn’t exactly subtle about who he’s in love with.
Apparently, love is supposed to be like a flower. Blooming from a little seed and blossoming into something bright and colorful. Slow and graceful, beautiful and natural.
Apparently, love is supposed to be like a lightning strike. Hitting you right in the moment, shocking you with impact. Bright and loud with emotion.
Apparently, love is supposed to be like a photo. A fond and forever kind of memory, preserved and framed. Admired and acknowledged often.
Apparently, love is supposed to be easy and is supposed to happen to everyone.
Aoi Akane isn’t so sure about that.
Neither is Sousuke Mitsuba.
And even less so is Teru Minamoto.
Apparently for them, Love is as stupid as falling for a new guy every week or forgetting to water your plants.
Love is as useless as forgotten, dusty photos in a shoebox or trying your best to make everyone happy when you know that will never be possible.
Love is as far out of reach as the likelihood of getting struck by lightning or Akane Aoi having his feelings actually accepted by Aoi.
Simply said, love wasn’t something Aoi, Teru, or Sousuke bothered to think about.
There were more important things in their lives.
Like the gardening club Aoi is president of.
Like the student body Teru is president of.
Like the photography club Sousuke is president of.
It does not take a genius to sense a common theme here.
