Work Text:

Jeonghan couldn't sleep.

He didn't know what time it was, all he knew was that it was dark outside.

'Woah, never would've guessed', a voice inside him spoke.

He lied in his bed trying to roughly calculate the time it could be right now but then again, he was a music major for a reason.

He could get up and grab his phone from the bedside table to check the time.

And the thing is that he would.

If it weren't for a certain 178 cm tall man with long eyelashes and fluffy hair, curled into Jeonghan and holding onto his arm like Jeonghan was gonna diffuse into thin air if he let go.

Jeonghan looked to his other side to find a bunny of a man sleeping soundly with Jeonghan's hand in his hair. Jeonghan removed his hand from his hair as he tried to reach for the phone on the other side when said bunny-man threw his right arm and leg smack onto Jeonghan's torso, locking his arm between him and the man in the process.

Jeonghan didn't need to know the time anyway.

Not when the man on his right looked like he ascended from the heavens. When he probably made the angels so jealous they had to send him to Earth. Oh how grateful Jeonghan was for that.

For the angels to be so envious of Choi Seungcheol that they couldn't stand the existence of a being more beautiful than them.

Little did they know, Seungcheol wasn't in heaven, the heavens were in Choi Seungcheol. Seungcheol was the heaven.

He brought eden with him to earth.

Jeonghan took in the sight in front of him. Watched as the moonlight from their blinds hit the man's cheek. Watched as Seungcheol gleamed brighter than the moon itself. He was sure the moon was jealous for it never had someone that looked at it the way Seungcheol was looked at.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.

Choi seungcheol was breath-taking. He was gorgeous. He was all a person could be and Jeonghan was so full of love he felt like would explode because of him.

“Hannie?”

A soft voice interrupted his train of thoughts. He turned his head around to look at Joshua, who was now staring at him, sleep still evident in his eyes.

“Shuji, baby, why are you up right now?”, he asked Joshua. It was still night (another astute observation by yours truly) if the darkness and the singing of the nightingale outside was anything to go by.

“You were shuffling around a lot, are you good?”, Joshua says and his words come out jumbled, probably because he was stuffing his face into the crook of Jeonghan's neck and oh God, Jeonghan feels so hot right now.

“Yeah, just couldn't sleep, you should go to sleep now”, he says and Joshua follows with a hum before planting a light peck on his cheek. So softly Jeonghan might not have even realized it if he were just a tiny bit distracted.

Joshua was just like that, soft and tender. He was oversized sweaters and desserts. He was just so gentle with everything. They say a person should treat others how they want to be treated and Joshua was doing exactly that. He was treating everything with so much patience and kindness that it would be a crime not to return it plus a thousand times more.

“I love you, Hannie”, Joshua said as he stared intently into Jeonghan's eyes.

God when did Jeonghan get so lucky.

There's the same 3 words again and Jeonghan feels himself filling up with so much adoration for the younger.

“I love you too, shuji” and Jeonghan meant what he said. Every single word of it. Every cell of his body recited it like a mantra. And he's always loved them both, and he still did and he always will and even death can't do them part because Seungcheol's taking both of them to heaven with him, the angels be damned.

He didn't realize how deep in thought he was until he heard soft snores and warm breaths fanning his neck. And just like that, ladies and gentlemen, Hong Joshua was back to sleep. He looked so peaceful right now, Jeonghan wasn't sure if this was the same Joshua who left him and Seungcheol at the parking lot of the grocery store on purpose because they didn't buy his favorite flavor of ice cream. He remembered the smug look on his face as he winked at the two and drove out the lot just like that, leaving behind his two boyfriends dumbfounded.

It's probably really late at night (Einstein is shaking in his boots at Jeonghan's intelligence) and he knew he'll wake up in a grumpy mood, with eye bags adorning his eyes and a throbbing headache tomorrow but he has solutions to all of those so let him think of about his lovers in peace.

There are no eye bags his concealer couldn't hide, and one paracetamol is all it takes to beat that headache's ass anyway.

And he knows his mood will instantly be good the moment he sees his boyfriends. Because no matter how tired or gloomy or angry he is, just one look at Seungcheol still asleep even after Joshua woke him up three times, and he will be elated.

Just one look at Joshua wearing his shirt and Seungcheol's pants while he cooks them breakfast and he will be fully content with life. He'll watch how the shirt slips off his left shoulder and how the sweatpants pool at his ankles because they're a few sizes too big and oh, Joshua is beautiful.

He wondered how he got so lucky. To have not one but two amazing boyfriends who look at him like he personally hung the stars in the sky. Most people (author and reader) don't even have one and here he is with two man babies who claimed to have grown but how was he supposed to believe that when Joshua still roared while eating dino nuggets? And when Seungcheol whined like a little kid to sleep for 'five more minutes' when they woke him up?

Jeonghan had hit the jackpot and he knew it.

Because Jeonghan still remembered the first time they talked and it feels like it was yesterday.

He remembered the moment he realized he had feelings for two of his friends and how he had thought that it was just teenagers teenaging and it wasn't love, just hormones or whatever they told him in 10th grade biology that he forgot because Jeonghan was a music major.

He remembered their first date like it was yesterday, when the three of them went to an amusement park and Joshua was eating a corn dog and Jeonghan made a dick joke. He remembered the way Seungcheol started fussing over how Joshua was a softie and he should only be cuddled up into a blanket burrito and fed loads of chocolate cake.

He remembered how Joshua had whispered into his ear, “will look forward to eating your corn dog” and with that he had left.

Oh that sly bastard.

Lovingly, of course.

Joshua was sly and he knew it. He wasn't like Seungcheol. Seungcheol was dense and soft and he did put up a strong boy persona in front of all their other friends and he did take the lead most of the time but only Jeonghan and Joshua knew how much of a plushball he really was.

Everyone saw the Choi Seungcheol who never backed down from a challenge. The Choi Seungcheol that had so much authority that one snap was all it took to gain everybody's attention. The Choi Seungcheol who liked all eyes on him. The Choi Seungcheol who was always on time, who always surpassed expectations.

They saw the Choi Seungcheol who was too shy to ask to hold hands so he'd brush his fingers with theirs till the other took the hint. The Choi Seungcheol who made origami animals that reminded him of his lovers. The Choi Seungcheol who giggled like a princess. The Choi Seungcheol who sometimes broke down but never gave up.

Jeonghan and Joshua knew the real Choi Seungcheol; the rest only knew of the masked man Seungcheol showed himself as.

Jeonghan loved them both so much. He loved them for being by his side. For holding him close. For helping him through it all. For guiding him out of the dark.

He loved them for loving him.

After all that he went through, they were still with him. During times when Jeonghan wasn't his best self, times when Jeonghan hurt himself and those around him.

People come and go but not them. Not Seungcheol and Joshua.

People came into his life and left but Seungcheol and Joshua had always been a constant.

He loved them so much and he doesn't think he'll ever be able to stop.

Not when Joshua made him waffles for breakfast just because Jeonghan had said he liked them the night before.

“I'm sorry they're a little burnt but”, Joshua had apologetically smiled at him while he looked down and Jeonghan wondered why Joshua even felt the need to apologize when he knows his lovers would accept everything he gives them.

“Joshuji, they're amazing, what are you talking about?”, Jeonghan didn't like cutting people off, he didn't like making them feel small and insignificant but he couldn't hear Joshua talk badly about himself, not when he's right there.

“Hannie's right, shushu, they're so good”, Seungcheol complimented him and Jeonghan thanked the God that Seungcheol knew exactly when to join the convo, “how are we supposed to eat anything else when you keep spoiling us like this?”, Seungcheol said and Jeonghan watched as Joshua's face lit up and so did his and Seungcheol's because his happiness fed theirs.

“I know right, and do you know who is to blame here, cheolie?”, Jeonghan knew what he was doing, he watched as Joshua smiled at them like they were the most beautiful thing in this galaxy.

Seungcheol put his finger on his chin and looked up, as if thinking hard before saying, “Hm, is it my beautiful wife?” He snaked his arm around Joshua's waist, feeding him a piece of the pancake.

“Your wife? Sir I'll have you know that's the love of my life”, Jeonghan jabbed his finger into Seungcheol's chest before sticking a thumb out and pointing it in his own direction as if saying 'mine'.

Seungcheol smiled before saying, “Okay wow you're hot when you're mad, how about we make out? The three of us?”

And with that Seungcheol broke into a fit of hearty laughs and it's the most beautiful sound Jeonghan has heard in his life.

He watched as Joshua threw himself at Seungcheol while his smile kept growing wider.

Jeonghan might just lose his mind.

Especially when Seungcheol's hugging the life out of him and laughing into his chest and Joshua just kissed Jeonghan's cheek with his chin hooked onto his shoulder.

He remembered how his heart swelled at that moment and how he realized these people were the reason for his happiness. He hoped it'll stay that way forever.

How could he stop loving them when Seungcheol kissed Jeonghan like he was all he had?

He remembered how Seungcheol's eyes twinkled at him, how his eyes held tears which glimmered like stars in the night sky.

Seungcheol had broken down and told Jeonghan about his feelings, how he was so scared about losing his best friend. He cried and it broke Jeonghan to see his best friend crying like that. It hurt to see that Seungcheol could even think Jeonghan would leave him when he knew Jeonghan never would.

“Please don't leave, Jeonghan, please”, Seungcheol choked out in the most gut-wretching way and when did Jeonghan even start crying? He didn't know. All he knew was that right now there were tears flowing down his cheeks mirroring Seungcheol's. This was the most vunerable they'd ever been with and he was so so glad he had Seungcheol in his life.

And then out of the blue, Jeonghan had grabbed Seungcheol by the collar and pulled him in for a kiss. Seungcheol's eyes had widened like saucers and for a second, he had Jeonghan second-guessing himself until he kissed him back and Jeonghan felt a rush of god-knows-what through him, all he knew was that it was a good thing.

Their first kiss had been so incredible. Just two best friends sitting by each other, bodies so close they could be mistaken for one, tears flowing down their cheeks expressing the overwhelming emotions their words couldn't. The way their lips moulded against each other, like they'd been made for each other.

Like they were meant to be.

Jeonghan remembered the way Seungcheol was pressed up against Jeonghan and the question of 'what are we?' lingered in the air.

“Boyfriends?”Jeonghan knew he'd be cringing over this for years to come because who the fuck asks their crush to be their boyfriend the same way kindergartners make friends?

“Boyfriends”, Seungcheol replied affirmatively before breaking into a fit of giggles. Jeonghan might've been cringe, but so was Seungcheol so it was even.

Oh, the way they cared for him.

The way they showed they care with their subtle touches, like a silent 'I'm here'.

Jeonghan's mind must be tired from releasing all that dopamine.

And he's so grateful for-

Were those birds chirping?

And when did the sun start rising?

What The Fuck.

Jeonghan didn't get a single minute of sleep.

“Guess I'm gonna have to survive off of concealer and cheol's and shuji's kisses”
