Chapter 1: - Character Info -
Chapter Text
Name : Izumi Midoriya (later Aizawa)
Quirk : - Pyrokinesis
Breathing Style(s) :
- Hinokami Kagura (Sun Breathing)
- Thunder Breathing
~
Pyrokinesis : Like Nezuko, her great Grandmother, her quirk (formerly known as 'Blood Demon Art') allows her to create and control a special type of flame from her blood that are greenish and gold in color. These flames can harm or heal whoever she wants it too, and she is able to manipulate the temperature of the flames at will, being it hot or cold. Izumi can use this quirk by igniting her own blood or creating it out of thin air. (More powerful when ignited by her blood.)
Extension : - Enhanced Regeneration - Ever since she was younger, Izumi has unusual regenerative abilities that allow her to heal a touch faster then other kids her age. (Courtesy of Nezuko's demonic origin). As she gets older, she discovers that her regeneration abilities have gotten a bit faster.
- Enhanced Strength & Speed - Izumi possessed an unnatural physical strength ever since she was younger. Once she receives hand-to-hand combat training and experience, she will become a force to be reckoned with. If ever she loses her weapon in combat, she will rely on her pure strength, like Nezuko, to deliver fast and coordinated kicks and punches.
Drawbacks : If her flame ability is overused or if she loses to much blood, she will most likely pass out from exhaustion and sleep to regain energy and regenerate. (just like Nezuko-)
~
Hinokami Kagura : This quirk (Also known as 'Dance of the Fire God' or 'Sun Breathing') is compressed into twelve techniques in total. In Nezuko's (Tanjiro's) old notebook, the breathing utilized in the 'quirk' allows the user to never exhaust themselves, no matter how long they fight. This style mimics the characteristics of the sun and presents it in the user's movements. All of the techniques are extremely varied depending on the user. With no solid pattern, this makes it extremely versatile to against enemies. Users of this 'quirk' can see themselves manipulating solar flames when this is in use. Izumi noticed that this 'quirk' increases her overall strength, power and speed.
Extension : - The 'Transparent World' - Once Izumi awakens her 'Mark' (DSM), she will be able to utilize a special form of ocular extrasensory perception that will alter her vision and allow her to perceive other human beings as if they were transparent, and only being able to see their internal bodies. User's are able to se the flow of blood, muscular contractions, breathing and movements of the joints. One could use the Transparent World's power as a way to predict and evade opponent's attacks, as well as to find some openings for their own. The user is also able to see the world around them as if in slow-motion, dramatically increasing their speed, dodging reflexes, and attack potency.
Drawbacks : If Izumi goes over her limit, she will find that it gets harder to breathe and her regeneration ability would not kick in at first, leaving her vulnerable to oncoming attacks. Training this will definitely stretch her limit, but it won't really get rid of this weakness.
~
Thunder Breathing : This is a style that mimics lightning, specifically with swift strikes and movements akin to lightning ripping through the air, and replicates it in the user's movements, techniques and abilities. Most of, if not all, known techniques and forms of this style involve moving at blinding speeds and immensely fast strikes and slashes to overwhelm the enemy in an instant. The previous users of Thunder Breathing are said to also visualize themselves creating and manipulating lightning and electricity when unleashing their techniques. Users also mimic lightning to such a high degree that they cause the air around them to vibrate when poised to unleash a technique and then create loud sounds alike to thunder with mere footsteps.
Drawbacks : If used too much and to a high degree, her legs may become incredibly sore and the muscles and nerves in her legs might begin to spasm.

I wanted to write a story with Female Izuku since forever after getting back into MHA and since I also love Demon Slayer, I decided to combine the two! If they were her great grandparents, then Aizawa's mother was their daughter while Aizawa was their grandson, making Izuku the great granddaughter- . . . Also my math sucks and I always lose motivation, so please try and be patient with me.
Anyways, I also have other stories that I need to update sooner or later, so that will probably get in the way of my updating schedule. I'm also not that great of a writer, so we'll see how this will turn out!
I forgot to mention that she will have some demonic traits that Nezuko had, such as sharper nails and small fangs. (She's had them all her life.)

Chapter Text
Izumi's bad luck had to start the day she was born. All of her life, she has never once had a father figure to look up to, nor someone to comfort her when her mother was working into the evening and was late to pick her up from elementary school. Her mother told her that her father was just very busy and never gets to come home, but it was getting harder to believe that, even for Inko herself. Inko was getting worried about her more often then not, since she was friendless. Izumi never really had any close relationships with any of her classmates to call any of them her friends.
Her only friend, who was with her since birth mind you, was Katsuki Bakugo who is the son of her mother's friend, so it was expected that they would at least get along. The icing on the cake was when her mother brought her to visit the quirk doctor at the tender age of 5. Both mother and daughter expected a positive response, thinking that Izumi was probably just a late bloomer, like some of her classmates. Reality had other ideas in mind.
"Sorry kid, it's not possible."
Izumi felt like a bomb was thrown and exploded right by her head. She couldn't comprehend what the doctor was saying at all, nor what he was explaining to her mother about 'people with quirks are commonly seen with only one toe joint.' It felt as if she was running on auto pilot as then were heading back to their apartment complex. It didn't register in her mind that she was officially quirkless until after dinner, while she was watching a video about AllMight [Current #1 Hero] saving people. Of course, Izumi did what everyone else would do in her situation.
She burst out crying. Even when her mother came into her room trying to console her and get her to calm down, she kept a flood of tears going.
"I'm so sorry Izumi.. I wish it didn't turn out this way."
This was only just the beginning.

[ 9 and a half years later ]
Izumi Midoriya is now at the age of 13, nearing 14, and still has a full 2 weeks until the end of her last year in Aldera Middle School. Over the years, everyone found out about her quirkless status, and she was then ether shunned or pitied by her peers for being weak. The bullying only started getting physical when she was 8. Her previously solid friendship with Kacchan [Katsuki Bakugo] died out and he soon joined in on the bullies antics, but for some weird reason he could never look her in the eye. Neither did he join in of the physical fights, just calling her names when she walked by, stealing her lunch money or just scaring her with his Explosion quirk.
She gained the nickname 'worthless Deku' after tripping and falling and just being plain clumsy for so long, but surprisingly somehow kept her studies and exams within the top 10 students in her year. That was only just the tip of the iceburg, though.
Inko Midoriya was in the hospital and suffering from a deadly illness, she has been for a year now. Working late in the evening and early in the morning gotten to her head, so she has had a bad bill of health for a while now. While she was heading to work one morning, her office building was completely destroyed by a villain, and she got hit with an out-of-control quirk. Thus, ending up with Izumi's mother in the hospital on the verge of death.
"Now, it's time for you to decide on which high school your planning on attending-" The voice of Izumi's home room teacher echoes in her ears, and snapped her out of that hideous thought cycle she constantly found herself drowning in.
"But, I don't even have to ask you do I? You all want to get into the Hero Course!"
As expected, the entire class cheered and showed off their quirks until Bakugo jumped in and said "Ha! You all think you'll be able to get into U.A.'s Hero Course with your lame as hell quirks? They only have a 1% chance acceptance rate, and what would they do with you when they could have me? Get a life, losers!" He smirked "I mean, you guys would just be lucky to get hired off some busted D-Lister!"
Izumi just watched as the class burst out in angry shouts directed towards the boy with ash blonde hair and the teacher scolded him for his attitude towards his own classmates.
"Oh yeah, Midoriya! Didn't you say you also want to go to U.A.'s Hero Course?" The teacher suddenly blurted out while shuffling through all the high school application forms as the entire classroom went silent, all eyes turning in her direction. 'Darn. The teacher exposed me..' She thought nervously, tilting her head downwards at her desk in embarrassment as everyone started laughing and taunting the green-haired girl.
As her head was tilted downwards and her eyes were closed shut, she missed a pair of ruby red eyes staring guiltily at her from a few seats in front as the boy quickly turned his head away and shifted his burning gaze towards the teacher in the front of the class who was smirking in triumph.
Class went somewhat normal after that.

As she was walking home, deciding on taking the long route instead of through the shorter alleyway she usually uses, Izumi reflected on all her life choices and what she might've done wrong. Growing up without a father had a large impact on her life especially since her mother was barely at home and working away to earn money. That was before the incident. Now, Izumi always comes to an empty apartment room with nobody there to welcome her back. All she wished for was loving parents that were actually a main part of her life.
Clutching tightly onto to her Hero Notebook, Izumi held her head up high and glared as hard as she could straight ahead. This was no time to be moping like a lost puppy. She will definitely become a hero that saves everyone, just like Allmight had!
"Help me! Please!"
A desperate shout sounded from the alley she was walking by, and she immediately cut her crazed mumbling short in surprise. Turning to face the shadows, she quickly raced in, determined to help whoever that was in need of some help.

[ 5 Minutes Earlier ]
Katsuki Bakugo POV :
School just ended for the day. Katsuki was currently walking towards the arcade with some of his fellow classmates who dragged him by force to come along, while casually ignoring most of their dumb conversations about high school or girls or just getting rich. He just butted in with snide comments here and there. That was, until they got to talking about his childhood bestfriend, Izumi Midoriya.
"How does she even think she can get to Hero Course without a quirk? Lame!"
"She probably won't even be able to get into their General Studies Course! She's so stupid and weird."
As much as it pained him to hear his childhood bestfriend receiving rude comments behind her back, he staying silent, neither encouraging it nor denying. Katsuki has known Izumi most of his life, so they were awfully close before she was diagnosed quirkless by her doctor. He was always very protective of her, even when they were kids. Like this one time when Izumi tripped on a stick and started crying, he destroyed the stick until it was just a pile of wood chips and gave her a piggyback ride home to get a bandage for the small cut. Those were some good times.
He's now wondering when everything went wrong for the both of them, from her being known as 'quirkless' to him joining forces with the bullies. He regretted it all once he heard about what happened with Auntie Inko and the stray quirk, and the Bakugo's constantly checked up on Izumi's mother's condition in the hospital every day. Everything coming down to how he could have hurt Izumi even more down the road if had he not stopped sooner came to mind, and he immediately felt guilty all over again. This was not how a hero should be acting.
Katsuki looked up towards the sky that was brimming with fluffy white clouds, reminding him of Izumi's fluffy green hair, and thought determinedly to himself 'When I become a hero, I'll defeat every villain that dares to challenges me...'
'..and I will protect Izumi at all costs.'

[ Back to the Present ]
Third Person POV :
Izumi was dashing down the dark alleyway, her mind whirring through the many different situations while trying to spot the person with the voice that shouted for help. In her mind, she was rapidly flipping through the pages in her Hero Notebook, all her notes about different heroes quirks, strengths, weaknesses and skills flashing behind her eyes. Quickly coming up with a idea in mind, she stopped in her tracks to catch her breath and immediately quieted down, trying to listen for any sound of a scuffle up ahead.
I mean, as much as she just wanted to rush in head first and provide some help, Izumi wasn't dumb, and she wasn't one of the top 10 in her grade for nothing. Rushing into a dark alleyway looking for a fight was already dangerous enough as it was, especially since she didn't have a quirk. Looking down towards the ground, she spotted a metal pipe conveniently a few feet away and picked it up, speed-walking towards the sounds of a battle.
As she approached the end of the alleyway, the sounds of whimpers and maniac laughter became more audible. Up ahead, she spotted a man laying on the ground and bleeding from his right arm while another taller, more muscular man stood above him. The taller of the two held something in his hand that gleamed ominously with the small shaft of light that found its way through the shadows.
'A knife?' Izumi only slightly regretting her decision to rush in. 'This is not the time to back out.' she thought ruefully. Clutching the pipe tighter in her one hand as she raised it above her head, readying to throw it as hard as she could while clutching her Hero Notebook in the other. Suddenly and out of nowhere, a streak of black and grey jumped from one of the buildings and landed right behind the taller guy. Knife-Man was caught by surprise and couldn't react in time as a grey scarf wrapped itself around his torso and flung him into the wall, knocking him unconscious.
Izumi was shocked. Diving behind a nearby dumpster, she peeked out at the new person in the alley with her. She barely even blinked and the taller man was already out of commission and the mystery person was snapping a pair of shiny silver handcuffs on his wrists. 'Wait.. A completely black outfit, a grey capture scarf, and yellow goggles? He seem's familiar..' The green haired girl looked down and narrowed her emerald eyes in thought for at least a two or three minutes.
"Hey kid, if you're done thinking, you can explain to me what you were planning on doing just now." A husky voice right above her head broke through her initial 'Midoriya Mumbling' session and she jumped back in surprise as the mysterious new person was standing right beside the dumpster, staring down at her with his dull black eyes. Izumi blinked 'Where have I seen those- oh yeah! I know who he is! He's the underground Pro Hero, Eraserhead!' she looked down again and poked her two pointer fingers together in second-hand embarrassment.
"S-sorry Eraserhead, sir. I just, uh.. wanted to help the man that was injured over there.." Izumi muttering died out as she realized that the injured man from before was already gone, and the man with the knife was gone as well. 'Well, that makes it even more embarrassing..' The man, now identified as Eraserhead, stared at her for a moment longer, then crouched down and held out her Hero Notebook. Seeing the best object in her arsenal in a strangers hands, she immediately lashed out with her own hands and grabbed it, yanking it away and clutching it closer to her chest.
The black haired man froze for a fraction of a second before he retracted his hand, pulled down his goggles and gave her a curious look. "I just read the first page of that notebook of yours kid, and I have to say, you probably have one of the best observational skills I have ever seen." Eraserhead spoke after a few seconds of silence between the two, then shot her a small, genuine smile "Now that's saying something, since I know Principal Nezu. I can tell, you've got some great notes."
Izumi looked up at the man with a glint of hope in her doe-like eyes and before she could stop herself, the greenette asked him the question that has been weighing on her mind ever since she was 5 years old.
"Sir? Is it possible... is it possible to become a hero.. even without a quirk?"
The hero glanced at her in both surprise and shock before opening his mouth, presumably to give her a response, but then he was cut off by her phone ringing. Izumi fumbled to pull her phone out of her skirt pocket and answer the call, not even bothering to check the caller ID. "Hello?"
"Is this Izumi Midoriya?"
Confused and slightly curious, she responded back, suddenly forgetting that Eraserhead was sitting right beside her. "Yes I am. Who is this?"
"This is Dr. Kaito Ren. Your mother, Inko Midoriya, has asked for your presence here at the hospital. She is currently in critical condition."
Izumi froze with one hand over her mouth and the other grasping the phone as if it was a lifeline. A larger, warmer hand was placed on her shoulder and she whirled around to see Eraserhead patting her shoulder and nodding towards the phone. Her hands were shaking badly as she placed the phone back beside her ear. "I'll be there as soon as I can." She forced out, ending the call and standing up, sliding the phone into her bag.
Quickly, she blinked the tears out of her eyes, 'it's no time to be crying right now, mom needs me!'— she suddenly found herself on Eraserhead's back while he was jumping from building to building. "What are you doing?!" Izumi yelped and clutched the mans shoulders tightly, rapidly shutting her eyes as the wind picked up.
"Getting you there more quickly."
Only a few minutes later, when it would have taken her at least an hour, they were already in front of Central Hospital. Izumi quickly jumped off the hero's back and ran inside, the man following along behind as she ran up to the front desk and asked the secretary about her mother's condition. Now knowing she was moved to room 2E, she speed-walked over to the stairs and made her way up, face twisted into a small frown. Bursting into the room, she rushed over to her mother's side and grabbed her hand. Inko blearily opened her eyes.
"..Izu...mi?"
The younger Midoriya nodded frantically. "I'm here mom, I'm here." She sensed Eraserhead standing all tense in the doorway once he glanced in her mother's direction, but Inko just raised one of her pale, cold hands and placed it on Izumi's cheek.
"My dear Izumi.. I love you... so much..." She coughed into her palm before continuing with her sentence "..I left you... a letter.." The older Midoriya coughed much harder this time, a rough shudder passed through her body before her hand dropped from the latters cheek, and she flatlined. As doctors rushed into the room and pushed Izumi and the pro hero outside while they performed CPR.
The middle school girl couldn't stop staring at the door to the room with tears streaming down her face. Only was she then snapped of her trance when she was pulled into a loose hug. It was Eraserhead. Acting on instinct alone, she wrapped her much thinner arms around the taller man and burst out crying, her sobs muffled by the black haired man's shoulder.

[ 10 Minutes Earlier ]
Shota Aizawa POV :
"Sir? Is it possible... is it possible to become a hero.. even without a quirk?"
When the smaller girl in front of him asked this question, he was shocked. 'I thought-.. I was sure she had a quirk... I can sense it. It feels awfully powerful, as well..' I opened my mouth to give her my response that 'Yes, of course it's possible' right as her phone started ringing. The green haired girl answered the call and somehow forgot that he was sitting right beside her.
The person on the other end of the phone informed them that he was a doctor from Central Hospital. When he heard the name 'Midoriya', it rung bells in head. He himself knew someone with that last name, he just couldn't remember exactly who it was. When the girl, Izumi 'Midoriya', hung up and shoved her phone into her bag, he threw her onto his back and started from building to building towards Central Hospital. Besides, he had a sneaking suspicion that he knew this girls mother.
Once they arrive and were informed about Izumi's mother's condition, they started jogging up the stairs and down the hallway towards the designated room. Once he entered the room, Shota was hit with a powerful sense of déjà vu. He knew that dark green hair anywhere, and he was surprised he didn't understand any of this earlier.
This woman was Inko Midoriya, his old girlfriend from after high school. And if this girl was calling Inko 'mother' then this must mean that she was his biological daughter.
Shota remembered that time from at least 14 years ago. The time when he left Inko on the excuse of work because it was becoming such a hassle to keep up with, even for himself, and he didn't want the older Midoriya to get caught up in all this Hero Politics and so she wouldn't worry about him to badly. It hurt to be leaving his soon-to-be family, since Inko was already 3 months pregnant with their future child and they were planning on getting married right after.
Seeing Inko right now in the condition she was in pained Shota to the core and he immediately felt an immense guilt wash over him, taking the form of his muscles tensing up and leaving him unable to move. Shota was shoved back into reality (literally) when the sound of flatlining coming from the heart monitor reached ears and the doctors burst into the room to push the man and the young girl out. He barely spared the door a glance before shaking his head and turning to face his newly found daughter only to find tears streaming down her face and dull eyes staring blankly ahead.
'Inko was the only parental figure in her life..' Shota thought guiltily to himself, slightly shifting himself over to pull the girl into a loose hug. The older of the two felt her thin arms immediately wrap themselves around him as her quiet sobs were muffled and the fabric of his shoulder started to get wet but he didn't mind. Right now, he needed to focus solely on his daughter.
'I will never leave your side ever again, Izumi.'
Notes:
Ended this chapter off quite abruptly, but that’s all I could think of when I wrote this. I know Aizawa may be pretty OOC, but it’s been a while since I watched MHA so please forgive me.
Chapter 3: 'ʀᴇᴠᴇʟᴀᴛɪᴏɴꜱ ᴀɴᴅ ᴅɪꜱᴄᴏᴠᴇʀʏ'
Notes:
This chapter will be Aizawa's revelation of being her biological father. We will also get some 'Bakugo Redemption' time! Yay!
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Seeing Inko right now in the condition she was in pained Shota to the core and he immediately felt an immense guilt wash over him, taking the form of his muscles tensing up and leaving him unable to move a few steps past the doorway. Shota was shoved back into reality, quite literally, when the sound of flatlining coming from the heart monitor reached ears and the doctors burst into the room to push the man and the younger girl outside. He barely managed to spare the door a glance before shaking his head and turning to face his newly found daughter only to find tears streaming down her face and dull eyes staring blankly ahead.
'Inko was the only parental figure in her life..' Shota thought guiltily to himself, slightly shifting himself over to pull the girl into a loose, unfamiliar hug. The older of the two felt her thin — too thin — arms immediately wrap themselves around him as her quiet sobs were muffled in the crook of his neck, and even after the fabric of his shoulder started to get wet; he didn't mind. Right now, he needed his focus solely on his daughter.
'I will never leave your side ever again, Izumi. I promise, I will try to be someone that you can rely on.'

// Third Person POV... //
A few minutes later, after Izumi calmed down enough to talk, she pulled herself out of the man's arms with her face a bright tomato-red in embarrassment. Aizawa just gave the younger Midoriya a small, albeit genuine, smile (just a slight upturn of the corners of his lips) and patted her on the head, silently marvelling how the teenager's hair was so fluffy. Just like a cat or a bunny. Preferably a cat.
"S-sorry, sir.. that was probably quite weird and impolite of me to hug you.." The greenette mumbled apologetically as she shuffled out of his reach and hugging her arms close to her chest, staring downwards at the ground with her face still slightly red. Aizawa felt his heart ache in the slightest, and even though they just met each other a good 11 minutes and 47 seconds ago (Yes, he was counting), he was ready to protect this young girl — his biological daughter — to the best of his abilities.
'She seems scared of physical contact. What would Inko do..' Aizawa twitched at the thought of Inko but shoved the feeling into the back of his mind for the moment. Just shrugging it off, the man replied with a simple "No worries, kid." After this, it just lapsed into silence between the soon-to-be dynamic duo. Neither one of them were much experienced in the social interaction department. Both of them wanted to break the awkward silence but didn't bother.
A few minutes later, when the silence almost become unbearable to Izumi and she was planning on something she was going to ask the Pro Hero, a doctor exited the room and stopped right in front of the two. Jumping up from her seat and lunging forward, Izumi pestered the doctor with multiple questions.
"How is my mom? What happened to her? Was it some sort of reaction? Is she feeling ok? How is the—" Her rambling was cut short as Aizawa stepped forward and patted her on the shoulder, immediately grabbing her attention while he questioned the doctor. The teenager was surprised at the 180 degree turn his personality took, and found that it only slightly weirded her out.
"Well, your mother is stable again... but our equipment can only do so much. I'm afraid she only has about nine to ten months left to live, possibly even less. The minimum being at least 7 months. I'm sorry we couldn't do anything more to help." The doctor explained slowly and bowed with his last sentence, lifting his head back up after a few seconds. Turning to face the awfully tensed up hobo-man, he asked "Sir? Are you this young lady's father? If so, please come with me to sign some papers for your wife-"
Izumi flinched and made a small shocked yelp, immediately objecting to his statement "Oh no no no, Doc, you got it all wrong! This man is n—" and before she could finish her sentence, yet again, Aizawa hummed quietly in thought and then asked the doctor.
"Hey Doc? Is there anyway you could get us a DNA test? And a quirk test while you’re at it?"
The teenager just stared in disbelief at Aizawa with her mouth agape, at first not registering in her 'supposedly smart' brain what he said. The doctor raised an eyebrow and replied slowly "Well.. of course we can. May I ask why you are requesting for a DNA and a quirk test? It does not.. seem quite necessary."
Aizawa just grinned with all his teeth (scary!). "Just wanted to prove something I've been thinking about.." The black-haired man replied mysteriously, the other two with him sweat-dropped.
`This guy-..!`
[ . ~ . ]
// Katsuki Bakugo POV //
Katsuki had set his feet on his doormat for literally two seconds before his parents dashed down the stairs, his mom grabbing his arm at the elbow and dragging him back out the door, all dressed up and ready for something. She shoved him into the car and they took off with a lot of protests on his part. Only after a few minutes have passed without his parents answering his questions and only conversing in lows tones in the front seats. He spoke up yet again, about to ask where they were going when he realized the roads that they were taking led to only one place that he and the rest of the Bakugo family frequented pretty often.
A place he was very familiar with. A place where he himself nearly broke down from guilt.
A place that was the last hope for his childhood friend's mother.
Now that he had very much confirmed where they were heading, he drooped down in his seat with his head hanging low, blonde bangs shadowing his eyes, and stared at his half-laced shoes. What would she think of him right now?
Only 20 minutes later once they pulled into the hospital parking lot and found an open spot conveniently closest to the door, proved to worsen his already quaking nerves as his parents immediately jumped out once his father turned the engine off. Pulling open his door much slower than his mom, he trudged in after the both of them, not paying attention to his surroundings and relying on his instincts to guide him forward. Lost in thought, he jerked into reality when he slammed into his father's back by accident. He was about to lash out when he also noticed what his parents were gawking at.
Izumi was conversing quietly with a man who had long, messy black hair that reached his shoulders and looked like he never got any sleep the night before. If the eye bags he had was any indication. `He may look like any weird homeless guy at first glance, but his clothes are actually pretty expensive. Especially that weird grey scarf.`Katsuki's vision narrowed onto the suspicious man and he stalked forward with his hands shoved into his pockets while ignoring the whispered-shout from his mother. As he speed-walked over to the duo, Izumi was the first one to take of notice him.
"Kacchan! What are you doing here?" The green-haired girl gave him a small, hesitant small. He noticed that her eyes were slightly red and the skin around it was puffy, like she had been crying before the Bakugo's got there. Katsuki inwardly growled to himself, `I swear if that old-man made her cry, I will blow him all the way to the sun-` "Oh, Mr and Mrs Bakugo! You're here as well! I guess you came to..uh.. visit my mother, right?" Izumi greeted his parents, her sentence getting less enthusiastic closer to the end, which made Katsuki's blonde-brow rise in confusion.
Mitsuki Bakugo— his mom— pulled the younger Midoriya into a tight embrace before leaning back to pat the girl on the shoulders. "Yeah. Since we're Inko's sponsors, the hospital called us a half-hour ago to let us know her condition. I hope you can explain what happened to us. And I already told you Izu-chan, call me Mitsuki." Once the younger girl nodded, Mitsuki turned to stare at the black-haired old man with a small frown on her face as Katsuki twitched. "If i may, who are you? Izumi would never talk with strangers unless it's absolutely important.. So who exactly are you?" Mitsuki gave him a tight-lipped smile, her eyes glowing like blazing rubies under the sun.
The hobo-guy sighed and rubbed the back of his head as if debating whether or not he would actually tell them his identity, before slowly raising his other hand. "Yo. I am an underground hero, Eraserhead, but just call me by my civilian name for now. It’s Shota Aizawa." Both of the Bakugo's jaws hit the floor. `This guy is a hero?! I thought he was some random old geezer in this hospital trying to strike up a conversation with Izumi!? I don't recognize him, so I guess he's not that well known. I mean, he did say he is an underground hero...` Katsuki analyzed as quick as he could, though admittedly slower then his childhood friend. His shoulder blades were tense and his fists clenched inside the pockets of his school's black blazer.
`...but why in the Nine Realms of Hell was he talking with Izumi?`
[ . ~ . ]
// Third Person POV //
Masaru trudged back to the group with a sour look on his face. Katsuki nearly jumped when his father appeared right behind him, he didn't even notice that he left to talk with Inko's doctor. Mitsuki immediately started to worry and asked him if there was any bad news involving the older Midoriya. His father pulled his mother to the side and they both started conversing in quiet tones. In his peripheral vision, he spotted a brunette nurse making her way down the hallway in their direction with two files clutched to her chest like a lifeline.
"E-excuse me?" The woman pulled to a quick stop in front of the black-haired Pro Hero, her grip on the files loosening in the slightest "Are you Mr. Shota Aizawa?" The said person in question turned to face the brunette fully and nodded his head, blank facial expression unchanging.
"I am. Are those the two tests I requested be done?" Aizawa inquired while Katsuki looked on in confusion. The nurse nodded and gently passed the two files into the man's awaiting hand. The brunette stays a bit longer to explain that all the information he needed was in the files and should he need anything else just to ask, then she bowed and skittered back down the hallway to where she came from. The black haired man sighed in resignation and plopped down on the seats by the room's door to read over the files.
Since both his parents were still quietly chatting in the corner, though he could tell his mother was getting more anxious by the minute, Katsuki slowly approached his childhood friend who was leaning against the opposite wall in thought. This was his chance. When the younger Midoriya saw him walking closer, she just flinched but otherwise didn't do anything. Katsuki rubbed the back of his head, thinking of how to word his apology.
Yeah. Apology.
In truth, the blonde had been trying to figure a way to apologize to Izumi for a long time now, but all attempts that he conjured up in his head failed miserably. Either with him being mean to her again or Izumi telling him to buzz off (unlikely). But now, right now, he was determined to at least get her to acknowledge his effort.
"Uh.. look...Izu-izumi-" Said girl stiffened and stared at the blonde in shock. He just used her first name! Katsuki sighed, but decided to just get it over with. So he did.
"I'm sorry for everything I did or said to you that make you feel sad, hurt, upset.. I want to apologize for everything. I'm so sorry. For everything that I've ever done. I understand if you don't.. want to forgive me, hell, I wouldn’t forgive me either. I just… needed to get it out there."
The greenette stumbled into a more back-straight standing position than being uncomfortable by leaning against the stark-white walls of the hallway while her mouth was in the shape of an 'O'. Katsuki's ruby eyes stared at the ground, and Izumi could tell that her childhood was being genuine with his words. I mean, they basically grew up together since they were born, it would come as a surprise if there was something that they both didn't know about the other.
"K-kacchan..." Izumi murmured while her eyes were still blown wide open after the blonde's genuine apology. She then sighed and directed a warm and genuine smile to Katsuki, showcasing her dimples and the small crease lines between her eyebrows while her eyes themselves were bright emerald and welcoming. "You do know.. that I forgave you a long time ago right?" The greenette stated, awaiting Katsuki's reaction "I don't even think I was ever mad at you. For anything."
The temperamental blonde's head shot up so fast to stare at Izumi in shock. "Wait.. what?" Katsuki muttered incredulously "I thought… you should hate me!". The greenette just gave him a closed-eye smile and was about to say something before a certain someone interrupted their conversation. Aizawa was leaning forward in the chair and staring at them before beckoning the younger Midoriya over. Izumi's head cocked to the side, looked at Katsuki for a few seconds then slowly made her way over to the black haired man.
"This is... going to be very shocking for you, Midoriya." The pro hero started "Remember when I asked the doctors to conduct a quirk test and a DNA test?" The greenette slowly nodded "Well, your quirk test has actually come back positive."
Both teenagers want dead silent, the prospect of Izumi actually having a quirk after all the years she's gone without one and gotten bullied for it was unbelievable. `It could have something to do with her unnaturally sharp nails and small fangs. As well as her weird ability to heal from a bruise within a fucking day..` Katsuki thought with his brows furrowing. Before either of the two teens could say anything, Aizawa continued on his small tangent.
"The DNA test that I requested has also been brought back and.." The black haired pro quieted down for a few seconds, as though thinking of how to word his next sentence.
"...I believe I should reintroduce myself. It's nice to meet you, Izumi. My name is Shota Aizawa. Your biological father."

Yoooo! I'm back! Sorry for the delay in updates, but now that it's summer (and that I don't have such a stressful schedule and now have more motivation) I will try to write as many chapters as possible! Now let's not delay any further, onto the story!
Warning: OOC-ness ; Probably cringe ; I do not own My Hero Academia or Demon Slayer, they belong to their respective creators.

Chapter Text

"The dna test that I requested has also been brought back and.." The black haired pro quieted down for a few seconds, as though thinking of how to word his next sentence.
"...I believe I should reintroduce myself. It's nice to meet you, Izumi Midoriya. My name is Shota Aizawa. Your father."
[ . ~ . ]
// Izumi Midoriya POV… //
She was in shock. 'What? My father? That can't be true.. my father left us a long time ago, mother even told me!... but he dosen't seen to be lying, and he even has that DNA test to prove it.. So he really is my... My father?' After this thought there was a tug of familiarity in the back of her mind connected to this man and she realized that both of then shared an uncoincidental curve of the cheekbones and how both of their eyes were shaped mostly the same way. It's no wonder that she also had small streaks of pitch black hair when her mother had a much lighter shade of green locks.
Suddenly, the unmistakable but quite unfamiliar feeling of anger coursed through her entire being, her veins, her blood, like a bright wildfire that couldn't be contained within her petite body. This only happened one time before, and that was when she found out her mother was dying in the hospital. Though this time, the fiery, gut-wrenching rage that consumed her mind and body made her feel a lot different.
It was like pure-liquid strength was being injected into her muscles from an inside source, a gateway to power creaking opening to unleash a pent-up beast that has been locked away and hidden for centuries. All she had to do was let it consume her. It was like a voice echoing in her brain. Accept me and you can have unlimited power for the rest of your days. You can get back at all those who wronged you, you just need to accept me. Accept me. Acceptmeacceptmeacceptme-
Izumi took a deep breath. She needed to calm down, she was sure that the black haired Pro Hero had a reasonable explanation and Izumi wanted to hear it before raging out at him. The fierce beast seemingly growled and retreated into the recesses of her mind and back through the gate, non-provoking but silently listening in. Feeling the anger which previously almost consumed her body slowly evaporate, she opened her eyes— when did she close them?— to stare at the black haired man in front of her who had an eyebrow raised.
She wanted her answers. Now.

// Third Person POV… //
Everyone in the immediate vicinity could feel the abrupt increase in temperature surrounding the younger Midoriya a few seconds after Aizawa's untimely reintroduction as her father. It was like the hall was suddenly encased in a heatwave that made them feel as if their blood was slowly turning to fire and starting to burn their bones and muscles from the inside out.
Katsuki noticed that thin veins began sprouting on the green haired girls forehead and, most unsettlingly, her normally round pupils became cat-like slits as the usual viridescent shade of her eyes brightened yet still seemed so very cold. Izumi's fists were clenched so tightly that the whites of her knuckles were starting to show and the tips of her hair seemed to gain the slightest tint of gold before it disappeared.
The tension in the hall evaporated soon after the temperature went back to normal, making everyone sigh in relief. Not that a certain person would want to admit that he actually felt just a little fear of his childhood friend. Aizawa raised an eyebrow as Izumi opened her eyes and stared at him, her body was tensed up but she had a look of determination plastered on her face.
"You're my father?" The younger Midoriya asked cautiously, eyes calculative and focused on the man in front of her. Aizawa just leaned back against the wall and nodded in agreement. Izumi studied his face, looking for any kind of emotion as a sign that he was lying to her, but she found none. Sighing, the green-haired girl relaxed her aching shoulders and gave the Pro Hero a tired, albeit happy smile. "Well, it's.. nice to finally meet you fath- I mean Aizawa." Izumi stuttered to a stop before blinking up at the man with a furrowed brow. "Is it alright if I... um.. called you father?" She mumbled with a dusting of pink on her cheeks in embarrassment.
Aizawa reached out a hand and patted the girl on the head, surprising both Izumi and Katsuki at the unexpected action. "You can call be anything you like. It's your choice." The Pro Hero paused "..as long as it's not something too insulting. Or not something insulting at all, actually." He remarked with a straight face. Both Izumi and Katsuki sweat-dropped at the same time with matching expressions.
'Did he just... try to make a joke?!'
Suddenly, Mitsuki jumped into the conversation with confusion written all over her face. "Hold your horses, sorry to interrupt this reunion so abruptly. But I have one question which I hope can be answered." Both father and daughter, plus the youngest Bakugo, turned to gaze at the oldest woman in the hall at the moment and she stepped forward to face Aizawa. "What did you mean by Izumi having a quirk? Inko told me that Izu was quirkless after their visit to the doctor." Mitsuki inquired, eyes narrowed in suspicion.
Aizawa's eyebrows lifted. "They said she was quirkless? Her test just came back positive for a quirk. And what just happened seemed to be quite abnormal for someone without a quirk, don't you think?" Mitsuki went silent for a good few seconds, thinking it over, before reaching out and grabbing the files the Pro Hero was holding out.
The man turned to face Izumi, a bout of awkward silence passed between them as they made eye contact, Izumi shifted her gaze away and towards the walls, thinking about anything that could help her get out of this situation. Aizawa closed his eyes and sighed, his mouth moving automatically, "What do you want to do now?" Izumi stared up at the man with wide eyes before an expression of confusion blossomed onto her face. "What...do you mean?" She asked quietly, but Aizawa was able to hear her just fine.
"With Inko... here... you don't have anyone to take care of you at home. That shouldn't be happening, you should have at least one guardian with you at all times. If you wanted, you could.. come and live with me? It's your decision, of course. I do not want to force anything upon you when you clearly don't want it."
Izumi's face blanked of any discernible emotion before she tilted her head downwards to stare at the ground, shadows from her bangs layering over her eyes as a way to hide her current expression. Inwardly, half of her was panicking while the other half was trying to be rational and sort through all the questions and answers and just plain everything that happened to her today. As well as Aizawa's question, ideas of what her quirk could be— she can finally become a hero!— floated through her thoughts as she struggled to come to a solid conclusion.
Sure, the man sounded genuine enough and seemed to care a lot about her making her own decisions and not forcing her into living situation she didn't want like some of those movies she would watch when she was bored, but he also was never there. He never integrated himself into her life and left Inko to do all the work.
Though, if she had to be honest, she did feel a seed of hope being planted into the back of her mind scape. A hope that just needed to be watered then maybe, just maybe, she would finally have a father figure, someone to rely on in this hellhole she called 'living'. So instead of relying on her brain to make this decision for her like she's done all her life, she listened to her heart for once. Besides, decisions made from the heart were always superior in the end, weren't they? She wanted to give this man, her father, a second chance. So, she took it.
"Alright then."
There was an awkward pause for a few seconds at the unpredictability of her answer, and Izumi had an inkling of what the Bakugo's were going to say. Before anyone else could get a word in, Katsuki stepped forward and grabbed her by the shoulders, fairly tightly but not enough to make her feel uncomfortable. They held each others gazes, viridescent clashing against crimson, without saying anything before the ash-blonde sigh through his nose and let go of her shoulders, backing a few steps away. "It's your decision to make Izumi, and I recognize that determination in your eyes." Katsuki remarked, turning to glare at Aizawa, "..but I swear if you are just making all this up..."
Aizawa nodded his head in Izumi's direction, completely ignoring the last line of Katsuki's sentence in favour of sending her the tiniest smile that she would have missed if she didn't have advanced eyesight. "Okay. Then I guess we could head out soon to pick up some of your stuff for the night? I'll bring you to my house." He offered and Izumi nodded in affirmation. Better head out now before it gets late.
Turning around to look at the Bakugo's, Mitsuki stepped forward and pulled the smaller girl into a tight hug spouting things like 'I'll get the brat to come and pick you up for school-' and 'We'll definitely find time to come and pick you up to visit Inko-' and 'If he hurts you in anyway, just tell me and I'll beat the living crap-' Yeah, no. Just ignore the last thing she said.
After patting Mitsuki on the back in reassurance and giving Masaru a high five, Izumi looked over at Katsuki only to find him locked in a one-sided staring contest with Aizawa. The younger Midoriya sighed in exasperation and tapped the ash-blonde on the shoulder, knocking him out of his revere. "Stop that, Kacchan. It's rude." She stated with a small frown on her face. Katsuki huffed and crossed him arms but made no move to continue glar- I mean, staring at the pro hero. He just twisted around so he was instead facing the wall and not her.
"If you need help... just text me, or some shit. Don't wake me up though." He uttered with a furrowed brow and snarky tone, but Izumi just grinned. "Aye aye, Kacchan!" She laughed lightly while the youngest Bakugo sent her a playful glare filled with no malice but otherwise said nothing else, opting to stand by his parents as they waved her and the pro hero goodbye. Mitsuki and Masaru needed to stay in the hospital for a bit longer to fill out any leftover paperwork, so both her and Aizawa were taking an early leave to head back to Inko's and Izumi's apartment to grab anything she needed to stay the night at Aizawa's.
The two made it outside and were greeted by a bustling street filled with crowds of people clambering to get home from a tiring day at work. Some were rushing by talking on their phones while carrying briefcases. Some were exiting shops either alone, with their significant other, or in a small group. Some were parents getting dragged along by their child or children to different stores to check out some new toys. Izumi glanced up at the sky in hopes to see the many stars that grant her comfort on the days where the bullying would get worse and the stress of having her mother in the hospital got to her.
The stars, or the night sky in general, always seemed to have this effect on her mood. Tonight though, there were no stars because of the heavy light pollution down closer to the ground. Stars were what she relied on during those hard times in her life, she knows that she would always have the stars on her side.
But now she had someone else, didn't she? Her new-found father. To be honest, she still had mixed feelings about this, she pushed them aside to grasp at this chance outcome. Even if she just met him, she felt as if she had known him for a long time now, and was for certain that she should, and would, give him a second chance to be part of her life. She was turning a new leaf, starting the next chapter of her life. This was her beginning on the path of becoming a true hero.
"You okay?" Aizawa inquired, noticing her stopped a few steps behind him while staring at the sky. Izumi blinked, bringing her eyes away from the black and dark blue canvas that was the night sky before her face broke into a wide smile. Catching up to the older man's pace and gazing straight ahead at the city with softly glowing verdant eyes.
"Yeah. I'm alright."
Notes:
Finally finished! I'm sorry this took so long! Just some serious things have been going on in my life and I just couldn't find the motivation to finish this chapter. Though, ever since I started reading more fanfiction, I've been thinking about my stories that I've written and posted online on a whim and now I'm determined to at least make if far with these stories.
Anyway, I hoped you enjoyed this chapter! It's fairly long and I don't think I'll be making chapters this long in the future just so I can get more updates out in a shorter timeframe and not bore all of you readers. I'll probably have to go back and rewatch episodes in season one of MHA just to grasp a better understanding since I haven't watched it in awhile, but I'll try to keep all the main points in the plot while making sure add in my own flair on things at times!
Goodbye, now! And make sure to drink some water today and stay hydrated!
