Chapter Text

After enduring relentless bullying in middle school, you decided to change everything about yourself now that you're in high school. From your hair color to your thick glasses being changed to a pair of contacts. To complete your ultimate change, you even convinced your parents to let you move out to a different city and continue your studies there. With this, surely no one would recognize you, and you can have a fresh start.

A few weeks in high school, and you already managed to make a lot of friends. You've also been elected as the new student council secretary, gaining more recognition from your peers. Things have been going well, and just as you thought you can finally move on from your past, you met the student council president, Scaramouche.

You took a deep breath as you stood outside the student council's office. This will be the first meeting with the newly elected members. You knocked on the door before slowly opening it, peeking inside. There, you see a boy sitting on one of the chairs, a textbook in his hand.

There wasn't anyone else in the room yet, and you surely don't want to be alone with a stranger. You were about to quietly leave but then stopped in your tracks as the boy turned to look at you, your eyes immediately being glued to his indigo ones.

His eyes were cold and sharp, skin pale and delicate; like a rose in spring. If human beauty is like a flower, his appearance is the dew upon it.

After a long, awkward moment of silence just staring into each other's eyes, he finally spoke, making you shriek in surprise, "Why are you just standing there?"

You gulped. His eyes are undeniably beautiful, yet so intimidating which gives you this feeling of crushing pressure. His voice, stern yet commanding. He has this irresistible yet strong presence, like a storm.

"I-I-I—" You can't even form coherent words as his eyes never left you. His gaze reminds you of those looks you always hated. It's almost like... he's just like them...

"Take a seat."

You automatically complied before you could even process what he just said, taking a seat across from him. The next moment was once again filled with complete silence as he continued reading his textbook, paying no mind to you at all.

"U-Uhm.."

He looks at you with a brow raised, "What?"

"He's kinda scary..."

"I-I'm (Y/N)!" Your voice wavered, making you want to smash your head on the wall. You told yourself you'd change, but you still stutter at the simplest words. So lame...

After seconds of staying silent, he lets out a laugh, pushing his glasses to his face with his fingers, "I know. We're in the same class."

"Eh?" You tilted your head to the side in confusion, "He does look extremely familiar..." "W-Well, I hope we get along."

He only answered you with a nod. You continued eyeing him, you're pretty sure you've met him somewhere.

He noticed you staring, giving you a grin before opening his mouth to talk, "Scaramouche."

Scaramouche? Is that supposed to be his name? It sounds... utterly familiar. Where did you hear that name?

You went silent to think for a moment before your eyes widened as the sudden realization hit you, "Th... That Scaramouche from middle school?"

Silence stretched out before the said boy stopped what he was doing and instead turned to face you, the grin on his face completely gone, making you fold in terror. He removed his glasses, his lips curving into a smirk, "You know me?"

Without his glasses, you could confirm it was the same Scaramouche from middle school, that one guy everyone was afraid of, even your bullies squirm in fear at his presence. You don't know how it's possible, but the glasses made him look scrawny, like someone he would bully.

But you should be fine, right? He won't remember you, you bet he doesn't even know who you are in the first place. After all, you weren't someone important in middle school, you just existed for others to pick on.

Though, you can't help but wonder... what's with his sudden change of look?

"Hey," He made his way towards you, looking down at you with those sharp eyes as you froze on your spot. He leaned down, face inches away from yours as he grab ahold of your cheeks. His touch was gentle, yet you swear your heart stopped for a moment.

"This stays between the two of us, you understand?"

You immediately nodded, unable to say anything as fear enveloped you. With that, he removed his hand from your face and gives you yet another big, charming smile, "Good. Let's get along."

Get along? He might stab me the moment I turn my back...
