Chapter Text
In full honesty, Rev didn't mean to become a villain.
It just happened. Ever since they tried blowing up the hero tower they were known as one.
So, why not become one, instead of being known as one?
That's how they found themself going by the alias Umbra. Glow's villain outfit was simple to them, but to others not very much.
It consisted of a black mask that covered their mouth, blue-tinted sunglasses, a dark blue hoodie, a black shirt, white gloves, a belt around their waist that held all their weapons, black pants, and light blue light-up sneakers. Glow also had some blue accessories that hung from their white horns and wings.
Glow thought it was cool! The light-up sneakers were the best part of the outfit, in glow's opinion.
-
Rev was in their apartment, sitting on the couch. They suddenly got reminded of something, and they shot up.
"Oh fuck-" They mumbled, "I promised Mockingbird I'd rob a bank with them.. "
Gem stood up, rushing over to put on their villain outfit.
Once it was fully on, they realized; oh. I don't have a gun. Guess it's time to go visit Star..
Star was a person Rev didn't know too well. It seemed not too many people knew a lot about them. Not even Vat, who seemed to know everything.
They still remembered Vat's words.
"I'm sorry, I don't have any information on them. To make up for your missing fifty – I can offer some information on Windwhirl, if you'd like?"
Moving on, Rev - Umbra - snuck out their window, teleporting into one of the shadows. There were lots of shadows near gem's apartment, thankfully.
Umbra teleported through the shadows. If they were correct, they had about thirty minutes until they had to rob that bank. So, if they hurried, they could get to Star's 'bakery' within twenty minutes to ask for weapons.
Once glow got to the 'bakery', they stepped in.
The bell chimed, and the baker behind the counter spun around.
Ah, that definitely was Star. Umbra would recognize those purple-pink antennae and glowing yellow eyes anywhere.
Star smiled as Umbra stepped in front of the counter.
"Umbra, are you..?" Star trailed off.
Umbra knew what they were getting at, so glow nodded. "Your little.. Private business ."
Star nodded, leading the other into the back.
Umbra had been in this room too many times for comfort, the number was most likely over twenty. The room had a large table in the middle, and was decorated with space-like things.
"What are you looking for? I can make anything."
"Gun. Specifically, one powerful enough to shoot someone's brains out."
Star paused, ".. Okay. Thirty dollars."
The villain put thirty dollars on the table, watching as Star created the gun.
Once the other was finished making it, they handed the item to Umbra.
"Thank you." Umbra said, smiling under their mask.
"Of course." The alien-hybrid nodded.
-
It was time for the robbery. Or, in Mockingbird's words, a 'heist'.
Umbra approached the alleyway Mockingbird said they would meet up at, spotting an avian with blue ingrown wings.
"Mockingbird, nice to see you." The demon greeted, waving at the avian.
Mockingbird looked over, "Ah, Umbra. Fancy seeing you here."
Umbra chuckled, "Yep. Anyways, how are we gonna do this? You didn't exactly explain the plan to me."
"So, we're both gonna go in."
"Obviously."
".. Then you hold someone hostage, and I make one of the workers direct me to the safe."
"Perfect planning." Umbra jokes.
"Oh shut up, we both know you wouldn't be able to make a better plan!" Mockingbird responded.
Umbra paused, that was true. Glow was terrible at planning.
Mockingbird laughed at the other villains' silence, walking over in the direction of the bank. "C'mon, bitch."
"Oh fuck off!" Umbra growled, running up to Mockingbird.
The duo walked to the bank, sending glares to each other.
Mockingbird kicked down the door, pulling out xe's gun. "Don't move!" They snapped.
Umbra walked in behind them, silent.
Everyone's attention seemed to turn to Mockingbird, which the villain laughed at.
Mockingbird walked up to the counter, signaling for Umbra to take a person hostage.
The blue-haired villain settled on a middle-aged wolf-hybrid.
Glow pointed the gun to the man's head, finger on the trigger.
Mockingbird was about to speak, when police sirens sounded in the distance.
Ah, the stupid workers must have called the police. Pussies.
Mockingbird sighed, "Guess we'll do this the hard way. Lead me to the bank vault, or I use your blood to paint my bedroom walls."
The worker nodded, leading Mockingbird into the back hurriedly.
The police entered the bank, immediately looking over to Umbra.
Umbra dug the gun harder into the man's head.
In that moment, so much happened.
Two gunshots, a loud thump, and yelling.
Umbra managed to dodge the bullets, yet the man glow was holding hostage was not..
Mockingbird stepped out of the back, holding two bags of money.
Xe looked over to Umbra, "Powers."
They were confused for a second, before Mockingbird pointed to a shadow.
Umbra nodded, teleporting over to it. Thankfully, it was just outside the bank. Mockingbird rushed outside, shooting everyone and everything.
Once the two were outside, they rushed into an alley with lots of shadows.
"Are you still here?" Umbra asked, remembering that Mockingbird's power was that they wouldn't be seen in shadows.
"Yep."
"Alright," Umbra sighed, "Till next time?"
"Till next time. I hope to see you again, Umbra."
"You too, Birdy."
"Oh fuck off.."
