“That’s for tomorrow me. You can prepare all you want for the future, but who says it’ll go your way?” Alfred sighs, turning back to the stars, looking up to them for guidance. “See what I’m doing now, Arthur? I’m just. Living. And that’s enough for me.”
“That should be enough for anybody.”

Alfred, newly crowned King Consort, is unsure of his place, and his queen makes his job no easier. But just as he begins adjusting to the royal life, he discovers there is much he still doesn’t know. To right the wrongs of their past and flip the hierarchy on it’s head, Alfred will have to dismantle the Council and their secrets. But what he has to do to achieve his goals may just be the tipping point setting off a series of events that spiral out of control.Arthur, Queen of Spades, is third in the Kirkland family line to serve as queen.
