The others had told Nile that whenever Andy got really tired, she would lie down on the first surface she saw in the safe house without caring if others were already lying there. So, when Andy had shown up a couple of hours ago and made all of the signs of aiming for the sofa, Nile lifted her laptop just in time before Andy threw herself down on the sofa. When Andy was lying down, Nile returned to watching her movie.
When nature called, it took some manoeuvring before Nile got loose from Andy's tight grip. When Nile stood on the floor, Booker, who was sitting in the armchair working on something, clapped in a very sarcastic way with a smug look on his face.
Nile: "Very funny."
Booker: "I'm French. We invented funny."
Nile: "I doubt that especially because your idea of fun is to prank Joe all the time. With more or less success."
Booker looked at the telly and saw that France was behind with two goals.
Nile: "When are Joe and Nicky back from date night?"
Booker: "Who knows? Why?"
Nile: "Thinking of using the opportunity to take a long hot shower in the tub now that the boys are gone, and Andy is sleeping."
Booker: "Do you want me to scrub you back?"
Nile: "Maybe another time. Something tells me you'll be busy yelling at the telly."
Booker looked at the telly again and saw that France was behind with three goals now, which made him yell at the telly.
Nile: "Be careful not to wake the lady with the axe."
Booker looked at Andy, who turned around with a snore while weaving her arms. Nile left the living room and found all the things she needed for a long hot shower. Her plans of taking a shower changed when she opened the door to the bathroom.
Nile: "I didn't need to see that."
Nile turned around after seeing Joe sitting between Nicky's legs in the bathtub, which was filled with bubbles. Joe had his back pressed against Nicky's chest, and while Joe was drawing, Nicky was reading and running his fingers through Joe's curls. They had put candles on every surface and shared two bottles of wine so far.
Joe: "Hi, Nile. How is your evening going?"
Nile: "Ok, I think. The movie was good. When you said date night, I thought you had left the safe house."
Joe: "Not this time. We felt lazy and didn't want to go too far. And after checking with Andy and Booker, we decided to use the tub."
Nicky: "We asked Booker to tell you that we would be done around 10 PM."
Nile: "Enjoy your last hour. I need to speak with someone who thinks he is funny."
Joe and Nicky looked at each other when Nile closed the bathroom door.
Nicky: "What was that about?"
Joe: "I think Booker didn't give Nile your message."
Joe craned his neck so he could kiss Nicky.
Joe: "Please keep on reading. I want to know what happens next on that boat."
Nicky: "You already know that since both you and I have read Death on the Nile many times. Including seeing the movie."
Joe: "I know that, but I love hearing your voice."
Nicky kissed Joe on the curls before he continued to read. Nile left her things outside the bathroom before storming into the living room, where Andy looked grumpy.
Nile: "Have you seen Booker?"
Andy: "He left when you left after shouting at the telly again, saying something about another venue. And he woke me up."
Nile: "Go back to sleep Andy. I'll deal with Booker for us both."
Andy: "Great and thanks. Do you want to borrow my axe?"
Nile: "Not this time. I got something else in mind."
Andy: "Tell me more once I have slept."
Andy lay down on the sofa again while Nile put on her boots before she left the safe house. When she found Booker, she would have a word with him about being funny.
