Work Text:
That morning the farmer woke up tired and in pain, it had been a while since this had happened. And she'd woken up seeing a beautiful blonde woman by her side, as it had happened almost every day since she'd married Haley early last spring. And she found an annoyed expression on her wife's face, this never happened before.
"Babe, did something happen?"
“You passed out in the mines. Linus found you and brought you here in the middle of the night.” Haley said.
“Oh. Okay."
“No, it's not okay. It's definitely not okay. It's not even close to being okay."
“Yeah I should have stopped after going down five floors but I really thought there was time for more and I kept finding cool stuff, oh shit did I lost it all?”
“Yes.” Haley said and from the look in her eyes it was clear that she thought it serve her right.
“Even my sword?”
“No, not your sword. It's in the living room."
“Phew, at least I still have my sword... I'm sorry I scared you.”
“You should be sorry.” she said and crossed her arms.
"Do you forgive me?"
"No, I'll be mad forever." Haley said.
And the farmer had to exert some self-control not to laugh at how adorable her wife looked when she was pissed off. She stretched and started to get up when her wife grabbed her arm.
“Stay in bed, stay with me. You need to rest. The farm won't be destroyed if you don't work for a day.”
“I need to feed the chickens.”
“I already fed the chickens and the cows, and all the sprinklers in the garden are on.”
“Did you really?”
“Don't look so surprised, it's not that hard.”
“I'm not... I think if everything is taken care of I can stay a bit more.”
"So stay."
“If I stay, will you forgive me?”
"Maybe."
The farmer lay down again, this time in her wife's arms.
And for the first time since she arrived in the village she didn't go to work, she just lay in bed, feeling her wife's fingers stroking her hair until she fell asleep again.
