Chapter Text

Apollo hc(pt.1):
Since he is commonly associated with healing and life, he can feel it everytime one of his kids dies. He has a small island in the middle of the ocean where he makes graves for them.

It also has makeshift graves/dedications to Hyacinthus and Daphne, two of Apollo's dearest love interests. When a child of his dies, none of the gods will see him for weeks after.

After the first titan war, he disappeared for 4 months. He spent the whole time sobbing on the island and creating graves for his darling children.

Bonus: Artemis and Poseidon are the only gods who know where he goes. Artemis knows what it is because she was the first person who knew about Hyacinthus's death. After toa, he made a grave for Jason and took Thalia there once during the grieving.

Apollo hc(pt2)

He doesn't actually have a favorite season. As much as he loves summer, he adored the other seasons as well and here's why:

Summer: This one is pretty self explanatory, but he loves the feeling of the sun on his face. It reminds him of when he was a child, alone on Delos with Artemis and Leto. Chasing the winds and playing in the fields with his sister. It makes him feel nostalgic and he often visits his mother because of it(but also cuz he's a mamas boy and a good son-).

Spring: This one has kind of similar to summer except this time is a bit sadder. During spring flowers usually flourish, right? Well, Hyacinths are no exception. Not to mention they are quite popular in the areas Apollo frequents the most. It will sometimes make him feel upset and he visits the island he made(check out my earlier post lol) a bunch.

Fall/Autumn: He really likes fall because of all the colors. Apollo will often walk around rural areas in human form and just marvel and the beauty of nature. He will do this for hours on end. At one point, Artemis had to go find him because none of the gods had seen him for 19 hours. She found him wandering around an orchard in Kentucky.

Winter: Despite most people thinking he hates winter, he actually quite likes it. He does find it a bit cold, but that's just because he's god of the sun. It also gives him more time. Nothing in particular, just time in general. This is because in winter, days are shorter which pushes back both when he starts his journey across the sky, and when it ends.

Chapter Text

-Apollo kids are always immediately identified bcuz Apollo is the patron of camp half blood

-Also, most of his kids make it to the camp without any major injuries/attacks because he puts blessings on his kids the second they're born

-adding onto the last one, she is always there when one of his kids is conceived

-if his partner is the one giving birth, he holds their hand and makes sure the pain is more bearable

-even before his trials, he was one of the better godly parents

-In fact, when the "ancient laws" that restrict the whole interacting w/ your kids thing first happened, Apollo immediately protested to Zeus.

-plus, it's part of the reason he was turned mortal for the second time. He had gone to see his son(Asclepius) against his father's rules, which ended in Zeus killing Asclepius. Then, Apollo, in a parental rage, killed one of zues's cyclopes, and blah blah now he's mortal.

-He can communicate with his horses, you know the ones that pull the sun chariot? Yeah, he can talk to them, but only them.

-he can talk to any of 'his' animals, or his trademarks and symbols.

-ex: crows, his horses, his red cows, mice/rats, etc.

-He wears dresses! While he wears them in public a lot, he was hesitant at first to visit/hang out with his kids in them. After a while though, he tested the waters and wore a long skirt to visit his kids at chb.

-C7 was super supportive, as was the rest of the camp.

-(Dionysus ended up putting a skirt on in solidarity. Only Chiron and Will saw it, but still)

-Apollo and Meg hang out a lot after the trials

-based on a fic I can't be bothered to find rn, Apollo eventually gets roped into mortal therapy.
It's for anything, but most of the attendants are survivors/victims of child abuse. Their group therapist almost cried when Apollo tells her about his dad lol.

-obv he leaves out the godly stuff, but he thinks she might know(she's a legacy of Minerva ofc she knows)

-she figured it out bcuz the way Apollo acted/looked + described the Olympians

-she hasn't brought it up cuz she doesn't know if it'll trigger something

-moving on

-he and the muses used to have lots of gossip talks

-after his trials they catch him up with all the latest drama lol

-Hes very parental to his kids, plus even some of the campers who aren't his(Clarisse, Nyssa, etc) but he thinks they need a good parental figure(something he needed desperately -leto)

-i headcannon that Apollo and Artemis are rarely allowed to see their mother because of hera's hatred for her

-they usually ignore her and see their mom whenever they want to

-Artemis thinks Apollo looks immensely like Leto. Whenever he has a determined look on his face, all Artemis can see is their mother. Almost everyone on Olympus can see it. The most obvious time it's appeared is when Zeus put the restrictions on their kids laws.

-Apollo was absolutely livid. He adored each and every one of his kids, so he said something about it. He openly yelled at Zeus, fear momentarily pushed aside to make way for maternal instinct and fury.

-She shocked everyone with his boldness against his father. It was this moment that showed how dangerous the son of the goddess of motherhood could be if his children were threatened.

-No one saw Apollo for months after that. The only reason the sun continues to rise was because of other deities who reign over the sun(Ra, Sol, Helios, Arinna, etc) continued their duties

-like I said before, he ignored these rules openly to see his kids, specifically Asclepius

-wandering away from this pipeline now

-he and Artemis are the protectors of young(I assume because of Leto) and they both are known to take underprivileged children under their care(for Artemis, the hunters and Apollo's is camp half-blood)

-barely anyone at camp knows Apollo made the actual camp

-chiron was the second to know(after Artemis) and Dionysus only found out when he was punished and put there as a guardian

-when Chiron let it slip in conversation with some campers, Apollo was visiting his kids and was in his cabin, trying to get Kayla to ask Nyssa out(kaynyssa my loves<3)

-they were taken out of their peace by the four kids Chiron accidently told pounding on the door

-when he was confronted, Apollo went bright red lmao

-he answered all their questions and the campers found out that the magical barrier around the camp is supported by not only the golden fleece or thalia's tree but also the twins' combined power

-Kayla cried and hugged her dad when she found out(she was so proud that her dad was the reason so many demigods were safe and happy all because of her dad's compassion)

-Apollo went and found Artemis and her hunters and spent the next 4 hours following his sister around and ranting about how perfect his 'little ones' are

-i also headcannon that he calls all the campers(plus Chiron cuz he low-key adopted him lol) his 'little ones'

-he just really loves them okay

-now I'm going to explain my little idea on how Georgie was born, raised, and eventually taken in by Jo and Emmie(I have not read toa in a while so some things may be a bit inaccurate)

-Georgie is actually from Vancouver, Canada.

-Her mom was a poetry teacher and Apollo met her at a cafe

-they hit it off immediately and Apollo was head over heels already

-sadly she had a history of mental health issues(Apollo was unaware of this) and was schizophrenic

-about a year after she gave birth to Georgie, she stopped taking her schizophrenia meds

-this led to her holding Georgie hostage in a standoff with police. She ended up shooting herself when she knew she couldn't win. Georgie was found with minor scratches but no other injuries.

-Apollo was listed by his mortal name as her father and was immediately called after the standoff to take his daughter.

-They cried when he found out. He hugged her baby Georgie and mourned his daughter's loss of innocence. He did take care of her for a few days, but he knew he couldn't raise her himself.

-Apollo could sense the prophetic power of the child, and knew eventually other gods and monsters would be able to as well.

-so he started to look for a stable home that knew about the whole demigod and monsters thing

-while in Indiana, he found Emmie and Jo in a park. Obv he was invisible and spied on them a bit bcuz Emmie sounded kinda sad.

-she was sad because the two wanted a child, but because of the government not having either of them in the database, they weren't allowed to.

-Apollo immediately looked into their memories to see if they'd be good parents for Georgie. After seeing them in his sister's hunt, he knew he could trust them.

-a couple days later, Jo walked out of the house to see a small woven basket on the porch. She immediately looked around to see if she could see anyone.

-All she found was a sleeping Georgie and a note. The note read as follows:

"Dearest Hemethea and Josephine, this is Georgina Smith. She is a demigod by an Olympian. Her mortal mother is no longer alive, so I was in search of a good house to care for my darling. I was in the park and I saw you two. I sensed your longing for a child,and went into some of your basic memories to see if you would be good parents.

After seeing you two in the Hunt, I knew I could entrust my daughter to you. I beg of you, please, to care and love her as your own. I will include some basic information on her on the back of this letter. I would have loved to raise her by my side, however, I unfortunately cannot without attracting the unwanted attention of the king.

I have envisioned bits and pieces of my girl's future. She will be a wonderful child if raised correctly. Somehow, she got all of the good traits between me and her mother. I adore my littlest one, and I sincerely thank you for caring for her in my place.

-Jo was shocked but immediately picked up the still-sleeping toddler and brought her inside.

-Her and Emmie had a talk and decided to take care of Georgie

-They do sometimes talk to the unknown father of Georgie. They'll tell them about her day, or a new thing she likes.

-Because of the memory wipe thing Apollo didn't remember anything about Georgie, but before his punishment he knew everything about the child.

-He visits the Waystation often after his punishment to help raise Georgie, or cook with Jo and Emmie, or just to talk with one of them or Leo.

Chapter Text

-Apollo and Artemis will and have killed for each other

-Even though they fight over who's older, we all(including both twins) know Artemis is older

-Artemis has a bunch of little cabins in the deeply wooded areas of different places/countries

-Every single one has several paintings as gifts from the sun to the moon

-She'd never admit it, but she loves it when her brother makes something for her

-But he never confronts her physically about it. Whenever there's a new one, there's always either a letter next to it or a note on the back. It's always written with a super happy and cheerful tone bcuz Apollo loves giving things to people, especially Artemis and Leto.

-They are all extremely detailed and diverse, showing several different categories

-some are portraits of Artemis, others are of her animals or the moon itself

-one of her favorite is one of the moon phases with a wolf in the foreground

-Apollo doesn't know how much his gifts mean to her

-anyway bcuz of his gifting thing, most of the people he loves(mortal and immortal)

-Leto has a cool jewelry collection, Artemis has paintings and rocks, Will has pretty leaves, Kayla has pretty bugs preserved in amber, etc

-nico is not safe from this either lol

-sometimes Apollo visits Italy to find rocks and take pictures etc. he then hids them in places Nico will find them(under his pillow, on his doorstep, etc)

-Nico knows where they come from but hasn't told anyone.

-Apollo's palace/temple on Olympus has hand painted murals of big events in history. Some are ones that affected him personally, others are things that had big effects on history. The further into the building you get, the newer the paintings get. Oldest painting is him and his sister being born, surrounded by the goddesses and their mother. Newest is his second battle with Python and his (almost)fall into Tartarus.

-After he finds out, he paints one of Nico and Will fighting in Tartarus. They can't look at it for too long without tearing up.

-Very few people know about the more personal murals. Even fewer have actually seen them.

-Apollo can control when they are visible to anyone other than their creator.

-Artemis, Hestia, the Muses, and Leto are the only immortals who see them at all times.

-Zues, Hera, and Ares have never seen a single one.

-Depending on the day/Apollo's mood, Aphrodite, Hermes, Hephaestus, Dionysus, Athena, Demeter, and Poseidon can see them every now and then.

-On Delos, deep in the forests, there is a huge tree that has hundreds and thousands of names carved into it. They vary in age and meaning, but most are long lost lovers and children of Apollo. Each one is carved with precision and love, despite some of the names being soaked with tears as they were cut into the tree.

-They hours she has spent, sobbing over the roots and watching as his tears water the soil of the beautifully tragic memories.

-No one knows where it is. Artemis has a theory that there's something out there that only her sibling knows about, but she doesn't want to cause him to break, so she leaves it alone.

-i feel like talking about the clear-sighted headcannon and who I think has it.(ps this next bit is just a bit of history on Apollo's family and heritage. It explains a bit on how he got his prophecy power, and how Delos was "formed." If you don't want to read that you can skip ahead :))

-Apollo is the only god who can see truly everything, but his aunt and grandmother(mother's side) both have abilities in the prophetic and vision categories.

-Phoebe is both a namesake of Apollo(Apollon Phoebus) and his predecessor as Goddess of the Delphic Oracle. According to the Illiad, the line of succession was Ouranos, who gave it to Gaea, Kronos then gave it to his sister Themis. Zeus then gave it to Phoebe, who became the Goddess of Prophecy until she gave it to Apollo as a gift.

-Asteria, Leto's sister and Apollo's aunt, had turned herself into an island to escape Zeus(who had romantically admired her) and was the only place on earth that was willing to defy Hera and allow her sister to give birth on her island.

-The island was renamed once the twins were born as Delos, which became a sacred island to both twins, Leto, and Asteria, but mainly Apollo.

-okay history over now getting into my personal thoughts on it

-i like the thought that Apollo and Artemis led their mother to a safe haven while in the womb, so because of their prophetical similarities, I think Apollo asked for help and Asteria helped lead Leto to Delos.

-I think that Asteria helped raise the twins, along with Leto, so both Artemis and Apollo are close with both titanesses.

-moving on lol(can you tell I want more immortal family in his life?)

-She and the Muses are in a fwb/poly/open relationship???

-They always him "The girls' male wife" or some rendition of that lol

-they do have kids w/ some of them, but all 9 sisters plus Apollo usually share custody of the kid

-the girls and Apollo met when he was only a few hundred years old, so he had just barely become holder of the sun

-One of the main places Apollo will be if he's not with a familial member(his kids, Artemis, meg, etc) or in his temple, they'll usually be with the muses

-anyway

-they way Apollo chooses to appear varies heavily. The best way to identify her is his eyes. They can change color, and the often do, but there's always some form of gold in them. Either specks of gold, or golden irises, just it's always there.

-moving onto some rare non-apollo ones!(how rare I know lmao)

-Nico, Thalia, Hazel, Percy, and Leo are in a club that they titled "Guess what bitches, I lived!"

-get it? Cuz they're all technically supposed to be dead.

-Leo and Annabeth would have definitely been friends, but all the other kids on the Argo absolutely did not want that to happen cuz Gods know what would happen(spoiler alert, no they don't!)

-Nico and Leo used to have late night "therapy" or venting sessions on the Argo. Because of Leo's paranoia and Nico's insomnia, they were both constantly awake when everyone else was(mostly) sleeping.

-they trauma bonded over their past(aka moms dying)

-leo was the first person to figure out about Nico being gay. At the time, they didn't tell him that he knew, but Leo did pull him aside after he came out to come clean.

-is this my excuse to give two of my favorite boys a support system? Blatantly, yes :)

-adding onto that! In my au, Leo is transmasc, demisexual, and bisexual :)

-nico is gay(mlm) and uses he/they

-nico was the first person other than Nyssa to know about his cisnt-ness

-also she saw him w/o his shirt on and saw his crappy old binder, so she bought(stole) him a new one, and comforted him(ie, told him it was completely normal, helped him figure out what felt right, etc)

-Leo and Calypso dated briefly, before they sat down and decided to break it off. Their goals were too different to be romantically compatible, but they're still very close friends, just more like siblings.

-legally, Emmie and Jo have custody over Leo. After they found out abt the whole dead mom/foster trauma, they sat him down and, through a LOT of tears and hugs, got him to sign the papers.

-Leo and Piper knew each other before the whole demigod thing. They were friends in the wilderness school. Leo had been taken in as, basically a project to make the school look better(think Tyson's situation)

-piper would share her fancy ass lunches with Leo and he would make her little gifts out of wrappers, paper clips, etc

-piper loved that, even though they looked cheap and out of place on her, she loved the contrast from her wealthy upbringing.

-leo and Piper would come to each other with crushes, gossip, even just to comfort each other after a bad night.

-piper was shit in the dating area lol

-like she sucked at giving relationship advice, didn't find any of the boys attractive(ha duh)

-except Leo. Piper loves Leo, and he loves her too. They would tell people that they loved each other, but would never date each other.

-they don't have separate closets/fashion. They have one big mass of clothes that they share(eventually after everything, they rope Leo and Percy into it too lol)

-leo used to hate when his hair would get long, but after he met Apollo(post trials, so he was back to blonde-brown wavy long hair), he realized long hair doesn't necessarily have to be feminine, so he lets it grow out.

-Piper wants to be a hairstylist, so she was ecstatic when Leo told her he was growing his hair out.

-leo and Jason had a thing. They knew they loved each other, and wanted to be together. They planned to sit down, and talk it out after everything with Gaea was over, to figure out what they wanted to be with each other.

-piper was well aware of this. After she and jason broke up, Leo came to her in tears and confessed that he was in love with the blond. She hugged him and explained that she knew that they had something that she and jason never did, and that she would be okay with whatever they decided to do.

-i just realized how long this is, so I'm gonna go ahead and post it lol. Hope y'all enjoyed :)

Chapter Text

-About a year before Percy was even found by grover, Apollo had a vision. In it, he saw great war and suffering. She saw the death and pain that befell his camp and his children. So he made a small promise. They would limit the amount of children she would have until the war was good and over. He didn't want to throw more of his babies in the war.

-one of Apollo’s epithets, Hekatos, is the masculine form of Hekate, both meaning “worker from afar.” Because of this, I like to think Hekate and Apollo actually get along pretty well. By Apollo, I mean the real Apollo, not the facade he puts up for others. She is one of the few immortals besides Hestia, Artemis and Leto to know about him.

-bonus, kids of Apollo and kids of Hekate get along super well, and it's kinda scary lol

-Apollo picked up a lot of traits from his crow and wolf forms, so he can't see glass, he tilts his head when trying to be threatening or appear confused, and sometimes has the most soulless eyes you've ever seen.

-Her hair is made of literal spun gold. It feels like absolute silk and they take care of it constantly.

-They love long skirts/dresses! She'll wear the shorter versions of both too, but longer ones are his favorite.

-after their dad’s trials, little gifts keep appearing in the Apollo Cabin. There's also been a few on Cabin 13’s doorstep(Apollo won't go in there without Nico’s permission)

-Apollo and Artemis have a bunch of codes made over the course of the last four thousand years. For example, certain wolf howls can be separated from a normal wolf howl, to either one of his sisters wolves or her sister.

-Apollo has to explain this to his kids when, mid hang out, he hears a wolf howl and turns into a wolf to reply.

-Her hangs around the forest around camp very often. Despite other places, the wildlife(satyrs, nymphs, etc) adore him. She rarely ever flirts with them seriously, but Apollo does flirt playfully quite often.

-The barrier around Camp Half Blood is made purely of magic. Very few people can see it, none of which are mortals. For the first couple of decades, it's just Apollo’s magic, the wall being created of light. Eventually, Artemis helps stabilize the inside of the dome, effectively combining the two magical together.

-He, Leto, Hecate, and Iris can see “auras” around people. The color and intensity change depending on the person, as well as telling what the person is like.

-This is how Apollo found Austin's mom. She was a part-time aura reader in Tennessee, and Apollo had gone in out of curiosity. Latricia had described him as a “person with strong will, but a horrid past.” She was unknowingly on the nose, and they ended up talking about the struggles Apollo had gone through, Latricia commenting about her own experiences in comparison.

-I headcanon that Latricia grew up in poverty and hit it big as an aura reader in the early nineties. She has three siblings, a mother, and her step-father. All are alive and well when canon begins, and they stuck together through the hardships.

-The two ended up becoming close using these makeshift therapy sessions to cope with their traumas.

-After a few months, Apollo told her about the whole god thing. She took it surprisingly well.

-Latricia has slight clear sight, or she can see more than normal mortals, but not as much as demigods can. Apollo explained that what she saw were most likely less dangerous monsters, wandering spirits, nymphs, etc.

-After about a year together, Latricia tells Apollo she wants a child. Apollo sits her down, and explains what would happen as the child aged. Latricia didn't care, and said she would protect the baby with her life.

-Apollo agreed, and placed a blessing on her. The spell would make it so the pregnancy would go well with very few issues, and that Latricia would not feel as much pain during the delivery.

-When Austin was born, both parents were there and Apollo placed a permanent protection spell over both his girlfriend and son.

-He stayed for a few months, before Zeus started to take notice of his son's happiness. As always, he decided to ruin it.

-One night, Apollo showed up to Latricia’s apartment looking terrified. He explained that if he didn't leave, Zeus would kill both her and their young son. Latricia understood, knowing about the things Zeus had done because of their therapy sessions.

-She agreed that it was for the best, and allowed Apollo to say goodbye to Austin. No one had dry eyes, all three cried. Apollo promised to look over both of them for as long as they lived, and he would guide Austin to camp when he was ready.

-Apollo put Austin in his crib and tucked him in. After that, he and Latricia kissed each other one last time, before he hugged her, said he loved her, and left.

-The next day, Latricia got a letter from Apollo. In it, he told her to move on, to be happy, and to take care of Austin. She did tear up reading it, but was still smiling.

-Apollo kept his promise and protected both his son and ex-girlfriend.

-Austin was actually supposed to be taken to camp when he was 8, but Apollo managed to prolong it until he was 11. He wanted the kid to have a fairly normal childhood for as long as he could.

-He didn't stop the satyr that found Austin from taking the child to camp, but he did follow their journey.

-Latricia doesn't hide anything from Austin, including about his godly heritage. On his tenth birthday, he gets a present with a signature that didn't look like anyone he knew. But Latricia knew. Apollo had seen how much Austin enjoyed playing music, specifically the toy saxophone his school had. So, Apollo had gotten him a real one, one of shining metal, yet still light.

-Apollo enchanted it to be very difficult to break.

-The saxophone that Austin uses today is the same one he got four years ago from his father.

-Apollo teared up when he realized it was the same one.

-Apollo protects all of his lovers and children to the best of his abilities. Because of this, many of his children get to Chb with few or minor injuries.

-When a child of his walks through the barrier, the air around them seems to glow. The hologram above them changes depending on what skill they inherited from him.

-In Austin's case, there was a shower of gold, and the sound of a saxophone played from nowhere in particular, but could be heard around him. The symbol he showed was that of a golden Lyre.

-Will had a similar claiming, except the music and symbol. For him, the smell of fresh bandages and herbs used for healing was clear. The symbol above him was that of a Caduceus, which is a symbol of health and medicine.

-When Kayla was claimed, again the shower of gold appeared. This time, the sounds of a roaring crowd were heard, along with the symbol of a bow and arrow above her head.

-All Apollo kids have, in certain lights, golden hair. They keep their birth hair color, but when their powers are used, or the sun shines just perfectly, their hair looks like threaded gold.

-They all have at least one gift of their father's that they excel in. For example, Will and healing, Austin and music, Kayla and archery, etc. But they also have minor abilities in Apollo's other domains.

-Austin is amazing with music, but is also fairly knowledgeable about medicine. Kayla excels in archery, but can also sing. Will is incredible in the medical field, but can also manipulate light and is good with words.

-Plague powers, although rare, have been seen in children of Apollo. The last known case of a child with these abilities was in the 1880s, who when she was killed, spread Scarlet Fever, which caused the deaths of over two thousand people.

-Currently, the only one with plague is Will, who has the ability to cause sickness. He can't cause any fatal illnesses, but he can sure as hell cause some of the more minor sicknesses.

-His favorite to make is Hay fever, as seen in The Sun and the Star when he gave a primordial goddess the sniffles.

Chapter Text

-When he first met Grover, he cried because the boy reminded Apollo so much of her dear friend Pan.

-Apollo and Pan were both gods that represented life, so they were close.

-Apollo felt when Pan passed and broke down.

-She still mourns him to this day.

-They have several college degrees.

-Apollo knows a ton about random topics. His kids always go to him if they have trouble in school.

-One thing that is often forgotten in mythology is that Athena is the goddess of Strategy, Craft, Warfare, and Wisdom. Not knowledge. That title goes to Apollo.

-okay I'm gonna go a bit deeper into what I think Apollo and Athena’s relationship is like so if you don't want to read that you can just skip it(I'll mark it with this →§)

-Athena is one of the few gods who have seen past Apollo’s charade.

-They have a mostly neutral but positive leaning relationship.

-The two bonded over being the “golden children” of Zeus. The only other person that could truly understand the other’s pain.

-Athena has only ever been struck by her father's lightning once. Apollo, countless times.

-For Athena, the mere embarrassment of the fact that she had done something that her father felt the need to punish her was eating her inside.

-Apollo still denied the fact that their father and the Lightning were the same person, that it was her own father doing all of that to him.

-In the old days, Apollo would invite Athena for private concerts. When she had the time, Athena would accept.

-They both enjoyed these little moments because they both knew the other would always understand. Better than anyone else.

-When Apollo’s punishment was revealed, Athena kept a stone cold expression. However, there was a little part of her that cried. That shook and mourned her brother's suffering.

-Artemis outright protested the unfair punishment. She prayed to the Fates that her brother would be okay. Athena wanted so badly to join her.

-When Apollo rejoined her as an immortal being, she pulled them aside.

-They hugged. They cried.

-Artemis saw her twin get pulled away from the party. All she did was smile and be happy that her brother had another ally she could trust.

-She knew she would always be the first on Apollo’s list

-bonus: Will and Annabeth have a connection. They don't know why, but they immediately related and bonded with each other. They love each other in a (completely platonic!!!)way that neither have ever understood.

-Kayla calls Apollo mom :)

-Kayla has nightmares about her loved ones(Apollo, David(her mortal dad), and her siblings) leaving her.

-and every now and then she'll have a really bad one about Apollo. Kayla will wake up sobbing, calling out for her ‘mama’

-before Toa, Will and Austin had no idea who her mom was.

-they didn't know until after Toa that Apollo gave birth to Kayla and was able to spend some time with her as a baby(I'll explain after this)

-so Kayla grew up with another parental figure(Apollo) who she only knew as mama

-Anyway, after Toa, whenever these bad nights would happen, the boys would call Apollo

-when they first called them, it was because Apollo might've known who this ‘mama’ was

-When they asked, Apollo was sitting on the floor of the cabin holding Kayla the morning after one of those nights.

-When they asked who Mama was, Apollo gasped and looked down at Kayla.

“Who is she, Dad?” Will asked quietly, looking down at his sister.

Apollo hummed, looking up quizzically at his son.
The god continued to pet his daughter's hair, still trying to comfort the girl who looked oh so fragile in his arms.

“Kayla has always done this. She wakes up calling out for her 'mama'. Do you know who that might be?”

Will watched as his father's eyes widened, and quickly looked down at his daughter somberly.
Apollo sighed, smiled, and looked back at Will.

“Me. To Kayla, I was her mother, and I like to think I did pretty well considering the circumstances at the time. Honestly, I didn't think she remembered me.” Apollo admitted softly, glancing between his children’s faces.

Will’s eyes widened slightly, before his face shifted to one of confusion.

“Wait, but aren't you supposed to not interact with your kids?” Will asked, Austin nodding along.

“Well,” Apollo started, attempting to find the words to explain. “It depends on the child’s aura growth rate. At least, it does for my children.”

Austin then asked the expected question.

“What's an aura growth rate? And why does it matter to tell how much time you can spend with your kids?” The teen questioned.

“A demigod does not always have 50% godly blood and 50% percent mortal blood. Depending on the skill, strength, and amount of godly blood that runs through the child, I can spend the time with them without being noticed. Kayla only has about 30% godly power running through her. That's why I could spend so much time with her. As well as the fact that her Aura grew at a slower rate than normal allowed me to help raise her more than usual.”

“How can you tell how much power each kid has? And what do you mean noticed?” Will asked, seeming quite interested in the topic at hand.

Apollo answered swiftly, wishing to qwell his son's comfusion.

“When a child of mine is born, I always check three things. Their vitals, their physical health, and their power percentage. While it can be off sometimes, it's usually fairly accurate. Like you said, my father forbade us centuries ago from directly interacting with our children. However many gods, especially myself, tend to ignore or bend that law.” Apollo explained, smiling as he watched her sons process the new information.

Austin nodded slowly, before realizing Kayla had started to wake up.

“Dad, look!” He spoke softly, trying not to startle his sister. Apollo tilted his head, before he noticed the movement in his lap. Kayla had yet to open her eyes, but she was squirming around, as if trying to figure out where the blanket was.

When the girl finally opened her eyes, she was met with the grinning faces of her brothers, as well as the loving hold of her mother. Kayla heard the snickering from her brothers as she sat up, not being able to see her hair.

“What are you laughing at?!” She accused her brothers, causing both to burst out laughing. Kayla heard a small chuckle from behind her, noticing for the first time while fully conscious, that her mother was here as well.

Kayla went red, immediately stuttering a greeting to the literal god that just saw her bedhead.

All this did was cause more laughter from the teens behind her.

“Hello, αγαπημένο μου παιδί.*” Apollo gave a soft smile to his daughter.

*(Greek for ‘my darling child’)

Kayla returned the smile quietly, before she stood up.

“Okay, everyone out so I can get changed!” Kayla laughed, watching as her brothers scrambled to get up and out of the cabin. She noticed her parental figure, who was in his usual form.

Their hair was long, and colored brown that faded into gold. He was in just some casual clothes, an old yellow sweater, and some washed out jeans.

Kayla watched questioningly as her father pulled himself up and walked over to her. When he got close enough, Apollo gently tugged Kayla into a hug. She tensed at first, before melting into the warm embrace of her mother.

“Are you alright, my dear Kayla?” Apollo prodded calmly, moving his hand up to their daughter’s hair. Kayla placed her head against her parents’ chest, before returning the hug.

“.....I think I'm okay, Mama.” Kayla smiled, feeling her father kiss the crown of her head. Maybe she would be okay after all.

-Apollo and Artemis are half-god and half-titan(this is technically canon in both rrverse and mythology but still)

-Very few gods actually realize how powerful this makes them.

-Zues is hyper aware of this. It's partially why he immediately started to mold them into his control

-that way he still had power over them

-both gods are aware of this manipulation

-Zeus actually has little to no power over either of them lol. Maybe when they were younger, yeah, but after Artemis created her hunt and Apollo was turned mortal for the first time, neither have really ever believed or trusted their father.

-going back to lighter headcanons(plus some non Apollo centric ones!)

-Apollo is demisexual, meaning he has to be close to someone as friends before he develops romantic feelings for the person

-They also don't really see gender(romantic/sexually), but usually just identifies as bisexual or pansexual

-some Cabin 7 trio hcs!

-Will knows how to barbecue. That's it, that's the headcanon.

-Kayla has a lisp! She has mostly grown out of it, but when she's tired or crying, it comes out. Apollo uses this to (lightheartedly!) tease her.

-Most Apollo kids as well as Apollo herself find listening to music extremely comforting.

-Doesn't matter what genre, they just typically find it melodic and homely

-Will has noise-canceling headphones! He doesn't usually need them in everyday tasks, but sometimes during rallies, events, or even meals may be a bit too loud for him!

-Kayla has ADD and Dyslexia, Will has ADHD and Autism, as well as Phonological Dyslexia(he struggles with saying or hearing words, letters, and numbers.) Austin has Autism and is selectively mute(depends on the day but typically won't speak that much).

-Austin uses He/They, Kayla uses She/They, and Will uses He/Him mainly but doesn't mind the use of other pronouns.

-and as you know, Apollo uses any pronouns(my au so please don't get pissed in the comments)

-Surprisingly, Will listens to punk rock. Like yes, he listens to country and pop too but rock/punk is his favorite lol

-Kayla listens to indie and pop music

-Austin likes classical/jazz and occasionally pop but usually he sticks to classical and jazz

-one night a month, the three kids will have a ‘sleepover’ where they'll do all the things you do at a sleepover:facemasks, gossip, do each others hair, etc.

-Apollo makes playlists for his favorite people. Currently, the people that have a playlist include all of the following: Artemis, Hermes, Will, Kayla, Austin, Meg, Nico, Leto, Every one of the muses, The seven have a group playlist, Aphrodite, Em and Jo have a shared one, even Calypso has one(cuz of their trauma bonding in Toa).

-Also he recommends people songs he thinks they’d like

-Surprisingly, Artemis quite likes music, especially the badass women songs? Hell, even the country songs that are like ‘oopsie I killed my husband in gonna go key his car!’ she finds those hilarious(and relatable lol)

-Austin runs cold, Will runs warm, and Kayla’s changes depending on the time of year

-every year there is like two months where cuddle piles with these three are HEAVENLY and every other day of the year they suck lol

-Will’s love languages are physical touch, words of affirmation, and gift giving(daddy’s boy)

-Kayla’s are spending time together and physical touch

-Austin’s are acts of service and gift giving!

-Kayla has difficulty reading and tries to avoid it

-Will can read well but has trouble pronouncing things

-Austin can read music really well and can understand common words and sentences, but more complicated ones confuse them.

-Apollo and Chiron both try to help the three with their processing issues

-After everything, Apollo hires a couple older demigods to act as therapists for the kids(both at CHB and CJ)

-Apollo is also one of these therapists but he tends to work best with younger children and his own

-She mainly helps with self esteem, survivors guilt, family issues, and past abuse.

-Apollo’s ‘Lesterpollo’ form is around 5’5, so he's shorter than a lot of the people at CHB which they all find hilarious

-However she refuses to change it

-every now and then a camper will be witness to Apollo babying Chiron(cuz in the myths he took him in and basically adopted him)

-Chiron is always very flustered with this and Mr D. finds it hilarious

-the campers bring it up when they want to bully him lol

-Apollo genuinely sees Chiron as his son

-the reason he is so attached to Chiron is because his children don't typically survive into adulthood. Chiron is one of his oldest kids(I don't remember if Asclepius came before or after Chiron)

-when the battle of the labyrinth took place, Apollo lost almost a dozen and a half of his kids. He felt every. Single. One.

-The sun rose a bit late the next day because it was his turn but Apollo didn't show up

-Frey had to take over his ‘shift’(they do a week and then trade off’

So sorry for not posting for a month y'all 😭
I've been busy as hell, and when I wasn't I didn't have any motivation. Sorry this chapter is pretty short, but again if y'all have anything you want me to elaborate on, go ahead and ask.(also how would y'all feel if I started writing for bsd/bungo stray dogs? Lemme know in the comments!)

-Nico is autistic

-Drew(Tanaka) has two moms(Aphrodite and then her mortal parent)

-Many famous celebrities, actors, singers, etc are either watched by or literally are the gods.

For example, Melanie Martinez? Apollo and Hecate watch her together and make sure to give her motivation and ideas.

-a lot of people from history are also demigods/legacies

-king Henry IV(the sixth) was a child of Zeus

-Queen Elizabeth I? A legacy of Zeus(because of her dad) and Athena(Anne Bolen, her mom, was a daughter of Athena)

-When a child of theirs turns ten, Apollo kids get a piece of celestial metal jewelry. It can be bronze, silver, gold, even platinum. It all depends on the child’s appearance.

Whatever metal looks best on the child, that's what the jewelry will be forged out of. Oftentimes, there is a jewel of some kind in the piece as well.

-Will has a pair of golden earrings. They are a pair of wings, a beautiful ruby at the base of each wing. The red jewels clash wonderfully with his blue eyes.

-will is close friends with Clarisse. They started to interact when Will first came to camp. He had healed Clarisse after a game of Capture the flag, and Will was one of the first younger campers that weren't scared of her. 

He didn't see her as this scary daughter of Ares. He just saw her as a girl who needed to be healed.

-At first, Micheal was apprehensive about their friendship, but quickly decided they would be good for each other.

-Micheal had a watch he had stolen from his dad(mortal) when he ran away. After he died, Percy enlisted some upriver nymphs and creatures to find his and all the others’ bodies.

When they found him, they told Will and asked if he wanted to see it. Will immediately said yes, even though there were tears in his tired eyes.

Micheal hadn't died on the bridge. He was knocked unconscious and drowned in the river. While bittersweet, it was confirmed that he didn't feel any pain.

They buried him, along with all the other corpses, in the woods surrounding camp half blood. Some were sent to their mortal family for a proper funeral, but most were runaways, and so were buried at camp.

-Will got the watch Micheal stole from his dad. He keeps it under his pillow. Nico has felt/seen it, but never questions why Will has the watch he saw on Michael's wrist years ago.

-No one questions it if some days, Will wears the watch, along with dark bags and heavy eyes.

-Nico has amazing luck with finding money on the street. He finds this hilarious.

-Apollo considers Rachel one of his kids. He never outright calls her their daughter, but oftentimes she’s roped in with them. For example, cabin sleepovers. Another one is that whenever he's talking about his kids and Rachel, he'll go “Rachel and the rest”

-Rachel really appreciates it(cuz of her kind of shitty parents)

-When Will goes to med school, Apollo is listed as his emergency contact. He would put his mom, but she's a famous singer and probably wouldn't be in the area. Apollo(a god) would drop what he's doing and materialize wherever they were needed.

-At percabeth’s wedding, Annabeth asks Paul to walk her down the aisle(and through tears he says yes)

-estelle is the flower girl, of course.

-Nico is the ring bearer 

-Grover is Percy's best man and Thalia is Annabeth's maid of honor

-Percabeth propose to each other on a vacation to Athens 

-They both thought it was symbolic that a son of Posedian and a daughter of Athena got engaged at the place where the rivalry started.

-They both separately went to Nico/Hazel for the metals they wanted for the rings, and then to Leo to smelt the rings

-all three meet up with Percabeth after the trip and explain that they all knew

-apollo was absolutely their dj lmao

-it followed the tradition of three days of celebration

-they invited all of CHB and some of CJ

-Reyna was both a guest and in charge of guarding the area

-She had legionaries stationed the whole three days, rotating shifts to stay alert but still be able to enjoy the celebration as well.

-Some gods were invited as well specifically, Poseidon, Athena, Dionysus, Artemis, Aphrodite, just ones that were important for the development of the relationship/family members

-Zeus was bitter he wasn't invited but he his it lmao

-Sally and Amphitrite actually do get along! They agreed it would be better to get along than fight. So Percy has two moms and two dads!

-Percy does visit Atlantis pretty often, once or twice a month at least. Not only to help out the citizens, but also to see his dad, step-mom, and Tyson.

Chapter Text

-Apollo and Thanatos have a platonic relationship(ask me about this because I love them)

-Apollo actually visits Elysium and the Isles of the Blessed surprisingly often.

-Personally, I think gods can visit those parts of the underworld, but only with permission.

Apollo, someone who is very intimate with death in two different ways(his relationship with Thanatos as well as most of his well known stories ending in death), has the ability and exclusive permission to visit his loved ones and the loved ones of people he knew personally.

-Hades was very hesitant to place such a large amount of trust in Apollo, but he soon realized something. Apollo knew the permanence of death was almost always certain, with very few and rare exceptions. Very few times, had he asked for an exclusion.

Apollo, of all gods, would be the most likely to understand mortality. He had lost many loved ones to it. Yet, he still loved. He still became close to the beings that he knew would soon die.

-Apollo learned about lots of different weapons and how to use them whenever he got bored as a god. During his trials, he was able to retain these skills because they weren't connected to his godly power.

-somewhere in Kentucky, Lester and Meg got cornered in a not quite mortal general store(which happened to have quite a few guns). Needless to say, Lester left the store covered in dust and Meg left with a new sense of respect for her servant.

-Apollo was friends with Elvis Presley. I don't have a story for this or anything, I just think it's funny.

-Sometimes Apollo forgets what language she’s supposed to be using. She could be with her kids and accidently start speaking in fluent French. He doesn't notice until someone points it.

-Valgrace are t4t :D

-Leo is transmasc and uses he/him

-Jason is nonbinary and uses he/it + neos!!

-Piper questioned her gender when she figured out she was a lesbian, but ultimately decided she liked being a girl.

-After his trials, Apollo stopped flirting with the hunters(for the most part). He still flirts with them jokingly, but if they are uncomfortable with it, he apologizes and stops. 

The first time this happened, the hunter aimed her bow at him and asked what he'd done with the real Lord Apollo lol

-Nico and Thalia bond over a couple of different things 

-they bond over their love for Jason, respect for Artemis, hesitance in trusting new people, catching up with modern terms, technology, etc.

-when they were kids, Apollo would play the lyre for Artemis after she came back from a hunt. 

-They would cook and play music for Leto together as a thank you gift for creating them and giving them life.

-this next one is more of a theory than a hc but still. Skip if you want → §

-Hyacinthus is not entirely dead. His mortal/human form is long gone, yes, but hyacinths still exist. A good portion of his soul is still in these flowers as well as a bunch of Apollo’s power because of how desperate he was to save him.

-Alongside the Delos’ Curse flowers that grow in the Apollo cabin, hyacinths also populate the area around it.

-Chiron knew something was up with the plants but didn't really take any action until they started finding hyacinths wherever something big had happened in camp.

-there were hyacinths under Thalia’s tree, growing around the Athena Parthenos.

-hyacinths were also located on the path Lester and Meg took to the Grove of Dodona.

-Hyacinthus has been watching Apollo’s children through the flowers. He has guided and encouraged them whenever he can hold enough energy to give himself a voice. 

He has only ever been able to create a humanoid form once, and it was because he wanted to help a lost 8 year old Will. He had gotten lost during a game of Capture the Flag, and as soon as Hyacinthus had clocked him as a child of his former lover, he attempted to help. However, all he could manage was point towards a group of older campers who'd come to look for him.

Will never told anyone about this, but eventually, a few weeks after he comes back from Tartarus, he tells Chiron. Chiron tells Dionysus, who makes the decision to tell Apollo. They wait until Apollo visits next, and decide to tell him after that week's game of Capture the Flag.

When they tell him, Will gets up and hugs his father, holding him as he breaks down and cries in shock. After he calms down, Chiron asks what he wants to do about it. Apollo states that, as ecstatic as he would be to have his first and only true love back, he had to tell Hades that a soul had escaped him. 

After he says goodbye to everyone at camp and kisses his children goodbye, he makes his way to his temple on Olympus. After a few more tears, he cleans himself up and begins writing a letter to Hades.

Once he finishes, he wanders off, letter in hand, to find Hermes. Once he finds him, he asks Hermes to deliver the letter to Hades whenever he gets a chance.

 A few days later, Apollo is summoned to Hades’ Palace. He materializes outside of the front gates and is let in immediately. He asks that everyone that doesn't need to be there be removed from the room. Hades complies, and Apollo is left with only Hades and Persephone. Apollo smiles slightly at that. Hades knew he and Persephone had been very close when they were younger, and still were.

He explains the situation, that one of his long-supposed to be dead lovers was not in Asphodel as he should've been. Persephone got up and motioned for Apollo to come closer. Apollo complied, and was quickly pulled into a hug. 

He buried his face deeply into her shoulder, breathing in the scent of spring. Hades waited patiently with a hidden smile, glad that his wife and his nephew had such comfort and trust in each other.

Hades explained that, because of how much healing magic had been put into his body, Thanatos couldn't fully take his soul because he was more immortal than mortal.

Personally, I think when Hyacinthus got struck, Apollo’s first instinct was to turn him immortal, because then the injury wouldn't be fatal.

Anywho—---§

-i want to expand more on Apollo and Persephone growing up together

-Personally, I think Apollo and Artemis were two of the oldest kids. Here's how it goes(based on my knowledge+my au)

Oldest → Youngest: Athena, Ares, Artemis, Apollo, Persephone, Dionysus, Hermes.

-Dionysus was turned immortal barely a few years after Hermes was born :)

-Artemis is only a few minutes older than Apollo(which he refuses to admit)

-Apollo basically raised Hermes and Persephone

-He also looked up to Athena as a third opinion on things. Artemis was always his go-to for advice, as well as Leto.

-kind of off topic but I think Persephone wandered into the underworld herself. She found an entrance in one of her fields and decided to explore it without telling anyone(especially her mother). 

Hades was too stunned to see such a beautiful woman just waltz into his domain that he forgot to warn her not to eat anything. He only remembered when she ate the sixth seed in front of him.

Persephone(at the time) didn't love Hades, but he didn't try to force her into anything and was content to just have a friend(it can get lonely in the underworld okay?)(am I lowkey a Hades sympathizer? Maybe).

It took awhile for Demeter to notice and over that time Hades and Persephone became quite close. They weren't in love yet, but both felt something there. By the time they did, Demeter had stormed Olympus and demanded Zeus to take Persephone away from Hades.

Zeus, wanting to use his daughter to lessen the likelihood of Hades rebelling, made the 6 months compromise.

Apollo was hesitant to allow the girl he'd basically raised to be shipped off somewhere(especially somewhere he couldn't easily get to her) but Persephone told him that she would visit whenever she could.

Hades pulled Apollo and Artemis aside and asked why they were almost as protective as Demeter.

“Artemis, Apollo, I have a question,” he paused, steeled himself, and dealt the card. “Why are you two so protective of Persephone?”

Hades spoke carefully, despite being older and most likely more powerful. Artemis glanced at Apollo. Apollo took a deep breath before answering the elder in an empty voice.

“With all due respect, my lord, we are her older siblings. I raised her when her mother was too busy. I taught her almost everything she knows. Can you see now why I am hesitant to allow her to spend 6 months each year in a place where I cannot go to her aid?”

Artemis nodded along, then spoke her own speech, just as calm and void of emotion.

“I may not have raised Persephone like my brother has, but I still adore her. I, too, am uncomfortable with her being unavailable to at least one of us.”

The twins stared at the King, awaiting his response to their proclamations.

“I understand your hesitation. I enjoy Persephone's company and am privileged to be able to spend so much time with her. Please trust me when I say I would hate it if anything hurt her. I am unsure of how willing Zeus is to let you two visit but he might allow one of you to visit the underworld regularly.” Hades finished with a slight smile, prompting the other two in the room to do the same.

“Well, I guess she'll be okay then…” Apollo muttered, more trying to comfort himself than add to the conversation. Artemis grasped her brother's shoulder; Hades assumed she was attempting to comfort her brother.

Hades nodded and turned back towards the throne room to guide Persephone back underground. He made it only a step before he heard a frantic voice call out.

“Wait!” Apollo said, sounding close to tears.

“Can I…can I please say goodbye to her before you leave?”

Hades paused, feeling sympathy for the god. He watched as Artemis put her arm around Apollo and pulled him in closely. He nodded before also confirming it verbally.

“Of course. I have no qualms with waiting a while to leave.”

Artemis nodded gratefully, before drying her brother's face with her sleeve. That's no way to enter the throne room, after all.

When the trio entered the doors, the first thing they saw was Demeter arguing with Zeus while holding Persephone tightly. The subject in question, Persephone, looked annoyed and a bit embarrassed by all the attention on her. She glanced behind her and finally noticed the newcomers.

“Mother, please let me go.” Persephone mumbled, not taking her eyes off of the slumped form of her older brother. She felt herself start shaking as tears welled up in her eyes.

“What?! Why on Earth would I do tha-” Demeter looked at her daughter's face as she yelled, finally noticing the shaking form of her daughter.

The throne room went dead silent, awaiting Demeter’s decision.

Reluctantly, she released the white-knuckle grip she had on her daughter's arm. As soon as she was released, Persephone sprinted into the awaiting arms of the young sun god.

As soon as the two touched, they both sank to the ground in a heap of emotion. Persephone sobbed into Apollo's shoulder as Apollo's soft hands met Persephone's scalp. He pet her head gently, trying to soothe the girl. He attempted to whisper comforts in her ear.

“Hush, my girl. Everything will be fine. Lord Hades is going to sit down with the King and request permission for me to visit you often.” Apollo spoke just loud enough for Persephone to hear. The relief that flooded her was enough to cause more tears to flow. 

It wasn't like she hated Hades. In fact, from what she had learned from interacting with him, he seemed quite sweet. It also helped that he was very pretty as well. At least in her opinion. 

It was the fact that she'd be so far from her family. Apollo, her mother, Demeter, Hermes, she wouldn't be able to see them. That fact broke her heart. Hearing that at least Apollo could visit her was like a warm bath after bathing in a winter spring.

She felt a cool hand graze the back of her shoulders so she looked up from Apollo's shoulder. Artemis was holding her gently, in contrast with the tight grasp Persephone had on her brother's toga.

Artemis looked at her lovingly, summoning her mother's eyes to add onto the soothing appearance. Persephone swallowed loudly before smiling gently at the twins. They hugged once more before Persephone fixed herself and stood up. She turned and looked at the man who would guide her to her new home.

She was hesitant but she quickly made her way to him. Hades knelt and offered his hand to the goddess. Persephone's smile widened before becoming polite once more. She placed her delicate hand in his. Hade couldn't help but smile.

Apollo watched the scene quietly. He was still hesitant to allow his baby sister to go with the King of the Underworld, but maybe, just maybe, she would be alright.
