One day, Comet woke up to find it still dark outside. Suddenly, a familiar sound reached her ears. She climbed up onto a windowsill to look outside. "Rain..." she thought despondently.
Naturally, she could go back to sleep. All the kittens were awake now from the rain pounding on the castle walls. The loud sounds of thunder and flashing lightning had just begun! "Is the castle going to catch fire, flood, or collapse?" Rose asked, fear filling her amber eyes. Comet couldn't fault Rose for not knowing how magical or sturdy the Crystal Palace was built.
"Don't worry, Rose. Neo-Queen Serenity ensured this place was built to mirror her home on Earth and withstand natural disasters." Asteroid calmed his girlfriend.
"I don't doubt it." Quartz agreed if only to soothe his sister more.
Thinking, Diana piped up, "Let's play pretend! We can dress up and act like the Neo-Senshi!"
Despite being teens, the kittens do not want to hurt Diana's feelings by rejecting her idea. Nor did they have anything else to do. Walking into the playroom, which the Neo-Senshi had not used since they were little, the kittens began rummaging through anywhere they could find outfits. Which consequently resulted in both a big mess.
However, they failed to look like the Neo-Senshi they had intended. Transforming into humans did not help much either. Diana remained the only one who looked most like Neo-Sailor Moon. Comet had found a cute pair of glasses she wanted to wear and an outfit with varying shades of blue, similar to Neo-Salior Neptune! Rose found an outfit identical to Neo-Sailor Uranus to pair up with Comet. Elizabeth sported an ensemble of all different colors, wanting to be Sailor Universe!
"Where are the boys?" Asteroid's redhead mate-to-be questioned, looking around for her brother and boyfriend.
"They went to the bathrooms to change." Luna's eldest daughter informed.
Minutes later, Quartz and Asteroid walked out. Shockingly, the outfits looked exactly like Tuxedo Mask and the Moonlight Knight! You would have thought it was them if their eyes were not different colors! "Is it weird I find those outfits attractive?" Rose felt immensely uncomfortable. She'd never seen her brother in formal attire, and Asteroid looked like an Arabian.
Asteroid blushed at hearing his girlfriend's comments. Suddenly, Quartz cut in, "Not at all. I'm flattered. Uranus." Rose's black-haired brother laughed. He was attempting to act like a gentleman.
Rose laughed, too. For hours, the kittens reenacted various adventures of the Senshi. How they thought they would have been if it was just Neo-Sailor Moon, Neo-Sailor Uranus, Neo-Sailor Neptune, Tuxedo Mask, and the Moonlight Knight fighting evil. They were so devoted to their play they did not even notice when the storm stopped. Suddenly, they heard the Neo-Sailor Senshi and their parents calling for them, and they ran out of the room, completely forgetting to change! Freezing for a second when the Neo-Senshi saw them, they then burst out laughing.
"I'm seeing double!" Chibiusa giggled.
"That is the silliest thing I've ever seen!" Christen snickered.
Ariel swung at Christen's head, but she ducked, so Gracie hit her instead!
They look lovely, like an alternate version of ourselves. Alexis admired Comet's costume.
"It's raining outside and-" Diana began, but Shadow interrupted.
"WAS raining. It's over." Shadow opened the blinds to let sunlight pour in through the window.
"Look!" Excited, Emily pointed into the sky: A bright rainbow had formed!
"That's the most beautiful rainbow I've ever seen!" Dawn gasped in amazement. As everyone admired the rainbow, the kittens admitted, in their heads, that they could not wait for the next rainy day so they could do this again!
