Chapter Text
What the hell am I doing here… Saiki thought, sitting next to Akechi in a booth at Cafe Mami. Across from them were Toritsuka and Aiura, who were currently bickering about something stupid, Saiki didn’t bother listening. Aiura had called an “Emergency Psykickers Meeting!!” but he knew it was just an excuse to hang out altogether. Saiki appreciated the sentiment, no matter how mentally taxing it was to be around these guys.
Well, except Akechi - he was getting better at keeping the rambling to a minimum, trying not to be the number one cause for his best friend’s reoccurring migraines. Akechi quietly sipped his iced tea, turning to Saiki, who leaned against the table, head in his hands. He had long since finished his coffee jelly. Akechi pouted, placing a hand on Saiki’s back to get his attention. “Kusuo-kun, you okay?”
Saiki rubbed his eyes, shifting to face Akechi. ‘Tired.’ Akechi nodded, twirling the straw in his drink.
“You wanna leave?” he asked. “I’ll walk you home.” Saiki nodded, giving Akechi one of his barely there smiles as a display of his gratitude. Akechi smiled back.
“Hey Miko-chan, Tori, I’m gonna walk Kusuo home. He’s getting tired. Thank you so much for paying, Miko-chan.” Aiura grinned, flashing a peace sign over her eye with a wink.
“No problem, Toumachi!!! Kusuo, rest up, kay?” Saiki gave a thumbs up in response.
“See ya at school on Monday, Saiki-san!!! Get your beauty sleep!!!” Toritsuka said flamboyantly. Saiki rolled his eyes, moving out of the booth with his bag slung over his shoulder. Akechi offered a hand, helping Saiki up. “Bye Miko-chan! Bye Tori! See you Monday!” Saiki gave a small wave, too exhausted to speak.
Aiura and Toritsuka waved goodbye to their friends, figuring it was about time for them to head out as well. As she stood by the table waiting for Toritsuka to get out of the booth, Aiura couldn’t help but smile at Akechi and Saiki through the window. “Toripori, look!!” she squealed, pointing outside to where they were walking.
“Eh, what’s- OH MY GOD, ARE THEY HOLDING HANDS?” Toritsuka gasped, staring at Aiura with wide eyes.
“Yeah dude!! You can like, pick up your jaw from where it’s resting on the floor, though. It’s not THAT surprising. Awww, and they’re totes cute together!!”
Toritsuka ran a hand through his hair, shellshocked. “Y-yeah, I guess you’re right…”
“I always am!!! Oh, right, I’m supposed to go to Chiyopipi’s house right now. See ya Toripori!!” Aiura gave a two finger salute.
“Bye Miko-chan, catch you later.” Toritsuka felt paralyzed as he watched her leave. This is INSANE!!! Saiki and Akechi are DATING???
Toritsuka left a couple minutes later once he fully processed it.

The sun was setting as they reached the Saiki residence.
‘Thanks for walking me home, Touma.’ Saiki unlatched the gate, pulling Akechi with him to the front door.
“Any time, Kusuo-kun! I’ll see you Monday, unless you wanna hang out tomorrow, or on Sunday…?” he added, shyly smiling.
Saiki squeezed his hand. ‘Tomorrow. I’ll text you, alright?’
Akechi nodded profusely, smiling so hard it hurt. Saiki reluctantly let go of his hand, instead opting to enfold Akechi in a quick hug, to which Akechi quickly reciprocated.
“Night, Kusuo-kun.” Akechi said into Saiki’s shoulder. ‘Goodnight, Touma.’ Saiki projected, clutching Akechi a little tighter before letting go. He ruffled Akechi’s hair before turning around to unlock the door with his powers.
Akechi made his way home with a smile on his face and kpop blasting in his airpods.
