Suki and Eve were headed for their third trip to Leeds. Suki had managed to convince Nish that because they were so close to finishing the deal, they should spend a couple more days than they usually would, to make sure everything was finalised. Suki had text Eve a few days before to let her know the good news. Eve rang her almost instantly on receiving the message, “6 whole days, eh? Whatever will I do with you?”. Suki let out a shy giggle, “I can think of plenty”. She hung up. The excitement was real.
They arrived at the hotel, checked in and made their way to the room. As was now a bit of a ritual for them, Eve pinned Suki to the wall as soon as the door closed, kissing her deeply. “That never gets old” Eve sighed, grinning from ear to ear.
Usually, they would immediately fall into bed together, unable to wait. But Suki was feeling different this time. She had told Eve she loved her. And she wanted this trip to be more than just sex.
“I.. I, uh...” Suki started, struggling a little to convey exactly what she wanted to suggest. This would be a big deal for her.
“What is it, love?” Eve asked, slightly concerned. They were in a good place, she thought.
“Okay.. I don’t want to sound silly but.. the other day, you brought up the night we had drinks last time we were here and how I had pulled back when you went to touch my hand. I want to rectify that. I want to try, Eve. I want to see how me and you work in reality, what we would be like once Nish is gone. Thoughts?” Suki raised an eyebrow.
“Believe me, I have thoughts” Eve smirked, “I can’t think of anything I want more. What did you have in mind?”
“I want to.. I want” Suki felt a little shy, childish even, at how simple what she was about to suggest was. And yet it wasn’t simple for her. Eve was being patient, not wanting to push her. Suki took a deep breath, “I want to hold your hand down the street. I want to take you out for dinner. I want to flirt with you openly. I want..” Another deep breath. She could tell Eve was holding hers at this point. “.. to be your girlfriend.”
“Well, girlfriend..” Eve winked, exhaling. “As you can imagine, I have absolutely no objections. It’s all I’ve ever wanted. Come here” Eve held her arms out for Suki to embrace her. Suki threw her arms around Eve’s neck naturally, pulling her in for a soft, tentative kiss. Eve slowly lowered herself backwards on to the bed, lifting Suki in to her lap, legs wrapped around her. The kiss deepened, tongues desperately fighting for dominance. Eve lay down so that Suki was now straddling her. The mood shifted and suddenly they were ripping their clothes from each other, hands and mouths everywhere and anywhere.
It was the first time they’d had sex since they had confessed their mutual love for each other. It was everything. Passionate but loving. Rough but caring.
Laying in their afterglow, Suki rested her head on Eve’s chest, feeling completely content. “So..” Eve started with a smile she couldn’t contain, “date night?”
“Absolutely. Indulge me.” Suki responded, excited.
“I think from the sounds you just made, I’ve indulged you already.” Eve whispered into Suki’s ear, nibbling at the lobe.
“I guess we both know how to work a woman hard” Suki giggled again, unable to hide the happiness Eve brought her.

“Any requests on what I wear tonight?” Eve asked, knowing full well what the answer would be.
“Don’t think I need to say, but you know how much the sheer top gets me going.” Suki looked away, knowing full well what would happen if she allowed Eve to see her face in this moment.
“Happy to oblige, on one condition..” Eve looked at her intently. “Have you brought your blue dress?”
Suki gave her a knowing look, “Yes, obviously. I knew you’d want that.”
Eve had goosebumps arise all down her arms at just the thought. She wasn’t going to be able to keep her hands to herself tonight, and seemingly Suki didn’t want her to.

As Suki had planned, they’d held hands from the minute they left the hotel to sitting down in the restaurant. Suki thought she might feel a little uncomfortable, but to her surprise, she felt so blissfully happy. Eve was everything she had ever needed and she was slowly but surely accepting this was the life she truly wanted.
Dinner was just as comfortable. An Italian meal, where Eve chose all the dishes for them to share. Suki felt like her heart must be visibly beating out of her chest. It was becoming slightly overwhelming. She had never experienced this before. This feeling of true love.
Before she could let her mind run away with her, she placed her hand on Eve’s. “I love you more than anything” she said to Eve, with so much conviction, like she’d never felt something so deeply before.
Eve couldn’t help but portray her signature lopsided smile at the declaration. “Suki, you have no idea how much I love you. You have single-handedly changed my life.”
Suki’s mood immediately shifted. “But what if this can never be enough for you? I’m trying, I promise you that. But I can never give you a timeline and that breaks my heart every day. You deserve the world, Eve. And what if I can’t give you that?” As a single tear rolled down her cheek, she looked away. It dawned on her that giving Eve the world was now the only thing she cared about.
“Suki. Look at me.” Reluctantly, she did. “Today has literally been the best of my life. It just about tops the day you shoved me against the fridge. God, that was a good day.” Eve smirked, wanting to both reassure Suki but equally instill their usual banter. She continued, “But seriously. I want nothing more than for today to be a constant reality, for you to be my girlfriend for real. I love you so much, Suki. And as I’ve always said, I will wait.”
In that moment, Suki realised she couldn’t wait any longer. Eve was it now. She couldn’t go back.
