Chapter Text
[Third Person's POV]
In a sea of darkness, glittered with faint, sparkling colors, a human-esque was floating about. In the sea that is a void, such a being was an anomaly. A soul. The Void was the Beginning and the End, where Everything is derived from, but would eventually reach Nothingness. As such, when a soul manages to find it way there, they would either immediately collapse, turning into nothing, or become a nameless concept, waiting to gain form and be a template for endless possibilities, just like the faint glitters in the sea.
For an unknown amount of time, or maybe not even, as in the Void, Time and Stagnation existed, the soul floated about, unknowing of what is outside of its perspective. Suddenly, a rift appeared in the Void, in which a different being came. This being can be called many things, a God, Deity, a Higher Being, a Supreme Spirit, for they are connected to the Void, yet not fully. This particular one, though, was simply through the Void, using its measly connection to the Void to travel through the infinite realities. The being, with its form ever-changing, noticed a difference in the Void, for despite its connection being small to the Void, it has used its connection to the Void multiple times to travel for its entertainment, allowing them such familiarity with the vast expanse of the Void, which led it to realizing something was...different.
With its curiosity piqued, for something affecting the Void would be nigh-impossible, it began its search. Spreading its senses, it reached around the far expanse of the sea, until it eventually found what it was searching for. Not even a blink later, it was above the floating soul, "eyes" sparkling in wonder. "How curious! A soul! In the void nonetheless!" The being was not unfamiliar with souls, its travels allowing them to meet various iterations of the concept. It had even played with a multitude of souls, its curiosity always asking for it to meddle and gain knowledge. This, however, was an anomaly. Various travels to different realities, meetings with beings like itself that specifically resided over the concept of Souls, had made it knowledgeable, if not, familiar with Souls themselves.
Excitement filled its entire being, a new thing to sate its curiosity and prove to be a source of its entertainment making itself known. Wordlessly, it began to use its powers to learn more about the soul that found itself in the Void, working to dissect the reason for its existence in such a volatile, yet peaceful, environment. An unknown amount of time passed yet again, the being chipping away at the souls past and being, before eventually, a "smile" adorned the beings "face". "Such a curious thing. A soul, passed around by beings similar to me."
With a deep dive to the soul's pass, the being came to realize that the soul was passed around to various beings such as itself, albeit weaker, as most were stuck to their reality. It wasn't an uncommon occurrence, as some realities would have multiple Deities in which they would fight for souls to fill their pantheons, but the curious thing was, this particular soul was among the thousands of souls that had been sought for, for a multitude of times, each Deity not giving up to repopulate their failing pantheons, saturating it with a miniscule amount of "Divinity". At that time, a being such as itself had visited its realm, this one having a particular connection to Souls. It had noticed the plight of the Deities, and the multitude of souls that was gaining "Divinities" because of the constant battle. The being was a benevolent one, and in exchange for new souls for the realm and the Deities, it asked for the souls that gained a hint of "Divinity". After a successful exchange, it took the souls with "Divinities" with it, planning to deposit them to various realms that were just beginning, allowing them to have Gods of their own. Its mission was going well, with this soul being the last one it needed to deposit, when suddenly, the being was attacked with a similar being that had a grudge against it, finding its mission to be repulsive. A battle ensued, and during this, the soul was left to wander, the benevolent being unable to care for the soul during its fight.
The soul, left to float around untethered in a realm which it didn't belong to piqued the interest of a different being that was travelling aimlessly. Seeing the soul, the being took it with it simply out of curiosity, keeping it during its travels. After countless of travels to different realities, the soul left to be forgotten in the possession of the being, like with its original realm, was then saturated with the existence of the Void, until, eventually, it gained enough Void "essence" where, after using the Void to travel to a different reality, was then tethered to the Void, albeit weakly, leaving the being's person and was left to float through the endless void.
Looking down upon the soul, the being couldn't help but "smile", its mind running a thousand miles. The soul's circumstance couldn't even be considered as one-in-a-decillion! The path which the soul followed was so unlikely that it was impossible for it to reach this point, and the being couldn't help but ponder if this soul's circumstance was the will of the Void itself! And, if it was, then the Void itself was the reason for their meeting now! It also meant that what came after also planned by the Void!
Rubbing its "hands", the being couldn't reign in its glee! If it was the Void's will, then the being shall follow through! The being was deep in thought, thinking about what it should do about the soul, until, eventually, it reached a consensus. Placing its "hand" on the soul's forehead, it willed its powers and woke it up.
[???'s POV]
Opening my eyes, I was expecting to see the maybe the pearly gates of Heaven or the damning fire of Hell. I wasn't a bad person, per se, but I wasn't entirely a good one either. I even expected complete darkness as well, my soul floating about the abyss, waiting for my new life. What I didn't expect, however, was the ever-changing visage of something in front of me! I would have screamed, truly, I would have, but I just felt...nothing. I didn't know how long time passes, with us simply staring each other, the visage, the entire being of the...person(?) in front of me changing from the ugliest and scariest thing, the the most ethereal and beautiful creature, simply remaining silent. Then, after an unknown amount of time, the being just nodded, as if coming to an answer. Spreading its "arms", it spoke, its voice changing with every shift in form. "Hello, little soul. I am, well, I have no name, but you may call me, Kier."
....That was a rather anticlimactic name for, who I assumed to be, a god. "Bah. I have no care for cool names. Plus, the reactions of mortals are funny when they hear such a name." The god "replied", and it didn't even take me a second a realize as to why.
'Mind reading?' I idly thought, to which the god, Kier, just waved their "hand" to. "Nah. I mean, I can read minds, but, well, souls have no mouths, or rather, a physical manifestation, so both your thoughts and words are just freely conveyed. Mortals won't hear it, but beings such as I and those lower can hear it easily." They explained, and after a moment of contemplation, I just nodded in understanding...which was weird? I mean, I should really be panicking right now, but I'm just...calm about everything.
Kier, then, began to float around me, my eyes following their form, and subsequently, allowing me to see my surroundings. "Well, that's mostly due to you being free of your mortal coil, free of your emotions. Well, most of it, anyway. You still have your emotions as a soul, but it's more subdued because you don't have medium, your brain, to properly process them." Kier answered, and once again, I nodded in understanding.
Shaking their "head", Kier stopped, putting their gaze back to me. "Well, why don't we get back to you." Suddenly being the subject of the conversation, I pointed to myself confusedly.
Nodding their "head", Kier pointed at me. "Yes. You, little soul. What are your thoughts in reincarnating with powers beyond your imagination, going on exciting adventures, making waves and living a life you would be proud of?"
I..."stood", there, stumped with the proposition. I wasn't unfamiliar with this form of reincarnation, having watched various isekai animes and having read multiple fanfiction regarding this concept. But did I want to accept it. Sure, having badass powers and going on adventures was cool and all, even fantasized about it myself, but such things meant that, along with the joys, excitement and fulfilment, it also came with a lot of trouble, angst, and pain. I didn't like pain. Like, at all. But...
'Maybe...?' I answered, unsure. As fantastical as the offer was, the thoughts of pain dissuaded me from immediately accepting it. All I wanted to do in my life is to draw, write, sate my coffee/milk tea addiction, and find a woman I could eventually settle down with. It was a simple dream, but a rationale and realistic one...but didn't seem possible now, considering I'm dead as hell.
Unbothered by my answer, Kier was steadfast with their offer. "I mean, you could live life like that. Just think about it. You have unimaginable power at your disposal, and with that power, you could protect your life with it, use it to make you achieve your dreams." Kier, like a devil, whispered into my ears, my earlier thoughts easily heard by them. It was grossly tempting, especially when, despite my grievances, there was this tiny part of me that wanted it.
There was one thing, however, that kept me from completely falling into temptation. 'What do you gain from all this, exactly? Why do you seem so adamant with having to accept you offer?' As a writer who wrote multiple fanfictions pertaining isekai, I had a thousand thoughts that ran through my head about Kier's motive. It could be to use me, planting a seed in me that would eventually bloom into something destructive, for chaos, or maybe eventually empower themselves down the line. That was one of the worst possibilities. There could also be one where-
"It's for my curiosity and entertainment, hun."
-that. For their entertainment. But was it truly for that? No other motives, hidden behind a veil of golden opportunities?
My thoughts free and heard, Kier remained smiling, twisting slightly in place in a weird sort of dance. "Of course, I have my own motives. You must understand, little soul, that you shouldn't be here."
I stared at him, watching how carefree they were. How honest they were seemingly to be. "This place is the Void, where Contradictions exist in Harmony, where both Nothingness and Everything are in Unity. This is where the concepts of everything we know are rooted in. If a mortal soul ever manages to enter the Void, they would either cease to exist, or be used to bring about a new concept. You, being here, not being torn to shreds to become either of the two, is a complete impossibility, simply brought about a series of impossible circumstances as well. That is why you make me very, very, curious about what your future will be, especially with my help."
That explanation stumped me. I turned around, looking at the Void. Initially, I just imagined this place to be where souls were sent to, to be met by gods for reincarnation. Now knowing where I truly was, a tiny shiver of fear passed through my being. From what I assume, my soul ceasing to exist meant that I wouldn't be sent to my next life. "That's true." And with Kier's confirmation, I couldn't help but hug myself, feeling dread encompass my being as I came to realize the situation I was in.
'...if I refuse, what will you do to me?' Despite all that, however, I still tried to keep a sound mind, not letting myself be irrational, despite my options seemingly leading to only one conclusion.
"Sitting" on an imaginary chair, Kier spread their arms wide, a genial "smile" adorning their "face". "Well, I ain't no bastard, so I would just send you to a random reality where the gods there would place accept your soul in their Cycle of Reincarnation. Of course, if I do, you would forget our interaction your past life." That was...more than I was expecting. Huh. Memory wiping aside, that seemed...decent enough. However, at Kier's "frown", things didn't seem to end there. "That is, if the gods don't notice the hint of Divinity in you, much worse, your connection to the Void. If they do, the gods would surely stop at nothing to dissect you in hopes of gaining ways to ascend. Not only that, even if you do manage to bypass their senses, they would eventually find out, or maybe another being like myself may pass through the realm I would send you to, earning their interest. I don't know what they would do to you, but there are beings like myself who are...less benevolent."
As Kier's words sank, all I could do was weakly chuckle. I don't know how I got here, much less find a way out of it, but it seems that there truly were no other options but this, huh. "Yep." Kier added, popping the "p". Despite my current inner turmoil, I couldn't help but roll my eyes.
Crossing my arms, I stared at Kier, who was casually "sitting" in the air. 'So. How are we doing this?' I asked, finally coming to terms with the cards that were dealt. Their "smile" widened, and suddenly, two large roulette wheels appeared behind them, the things written on them being incomprehensible as they kept on changing. "Let's see how lucky you are! Borrowing the Void's concepts, I'll be giving you your powers and the reality you would be sent to!"
At Kier's wild "smile", "hands" grandly pointing at the roulette wheels, I was both overwhelmed and scared. I wasn't expecting to be given what I wanted so easily, or to at least make my situation easier, but this was just absolutely horrifying. If the realities Kier was talking about meant were movies, animes and shows that I knew, following normal fanfic isekai rules, then that was absolutely mortifying, considering that there were a multitude of animes, movies and shows where there were a gross amount of superpowered beings that could crush me like an ant by accident! That's not even thinking about any of them that I didn't watch or know about! There is, of course, the possibility where these realties were realities that didn't exist in any form of media, and that was a scarier thing!
Hearing my thoughts, Kier tried to placate my worries with a wave of their "hands". "Hahaha! You don't have to worry about that, little soul! With the best of my abilities, I narrowed down the realities to all of the realities that existed through a form of media in your own reality!" At that, I let out a sigh of a relied. However, it seems that Kier had a mischievous side, as they quickly added in, "And by "all of the realities that existed through a form of media in your own reality", I truly meant all of it! So, there is a chance that you may go to, I don't know, the DC Universe!"
Shock and fear aside, all I felt like doing was stare at Kier, letting my eyes bore into theirs. I know that they were trying their best to help me as they could, if only to sate their curiosity and entertainment, but they could have at least be kinder with it! Laughing heartily, the waved their "hands" again, gesturing me to calm down. "Alright, alright. Though I wouldn't be able to lower your chances of going to a dangerous reality, since I already narrowed down the vast realities to existing ones from yours, I did make it so that the powers you receive would be rather strong. There are ones that would allow you to at least fight against gods and survive, and there are ones with limitless potential!"
That, at least, was the silver lining in all of these. With a sigh of relief, I stared at Kier's "eyes", nodding. Leaning against one of the wheels, Kier gestured me to come closer with one of their "hands", while the other was pointing at it. "Come. Come. Let's first pick the reality you'll be going to!" At their excitement, I rolled my eyes once again. Despite my fear clinging on to me, shouldn't I be the one be excited about all this? "Should I spin it, or you?" He questioned, and as I stared at the imposing roulette, I was stumped. Yeah, there was no way I was spinning that thing.
Turning to Kier, all I said was, 'Since you are the one helping me and all, why don't you the honors? Plus, I'm not that confident in my luck, so I do hope yours would be far better than mine.' This seemed to excite them even more, and without much fanfare, their body stretched to reach the middle of the large, imposing roulette. With a grunt, the pulled down, bringing their body along. Kier stepped beside me, and silently, we watched as the wheel continued to spin, the ticking being the only thing filling the Void. Eventually, the spinning slowed down, then, it finally stopped, and my "eyes" couldn't help but widen to where it landed.
[Honkai: Star Rail]
It was...decent? I played [Honkai: Star Rail], to its latest update with defeating Phantylia. Bitch was hard to kill, especially with the requirement to keep Jing Yuan alive until the end. The cons with [Honkai: Star Rail] was that it had Aeons, god-like beings that reached their positions after having complete mastery with their Paths, which was basically their "Class", in gaming terms. Not only that, there was the Stellarons, Antimatter Legion and the Emanator of Destruction, together with Nanook. The Stellarons were basically Seeds of Destruction, a cancer of worlds. Emanators were people following paths are those who are "gazed upon" by the Aeons, basically people with stronger powers. And Nanook himself was the Aeon of Destruction, whose specific plans were unknown, but was generally placed as the destruction of all civilization. Lastly, [Honkai: Star Rail] was still in development, the plotline still shrouded in mystery, and it didn't help that I was mostly focused on the gameplay, rather than the lore. The pros, however, were the faction of the Nameless, and though I can't remember their mission exactly, it had something to do with exploration, and with it, giving their help to worlds they travel to. I'm not so sure about this, but the Nameless weren't necessarily the heroes, but they were the closest faction to being space cops, to what I know, at least. I could be wrong, but at least there were people I could go to for help, more specifically, the subgroup of the Nameless, the Astral Express. Actually, now that I think about it, were the Nameless actually a pro here?
"I don't think so." Cutting into my musing, I could only groan at Kier's confirmation. "The pro here, though, is that there are an endless amount of worlds in [Honkai: Star Rail], so that means that you don't have to be part of the events off it. See? That also means you could live your life without being troubled! Just let the protagonists do their job while you lay down the foundations of your life."
Well...now that seemed delightful. As cool as it is to go to an adventure and ride the Astral Express, I could just live a life far away from it all! Cool powers without the need to follow some convoluted plot? Things are starting to look up!
Knowing my thoughts, Kier patted my shoulder, before stretching themselves to reach the middle of the second roulette. Looking at me for confirmation, I nodded in turn. With another mighty grunt, they pulled, harder than earlier. Silence reigned between us once again, and after what felt like hours of ticking, the wheel slowed, until it came to a stop, the needle stopping at...
[The Gamer System]
I... I couldn't believe my eyes. This power was something I was familiar with, had meddled with it myself in fanfiction, read multiple versions of it! It was a power with unimaginable power, one that I myself had fantasized about multiple times. Unconsciously, I held onto Kier's "arm", tugging it slightly. Pointing at it, I asked. 'Am I seeing this right?' To which they answered with a grin, party poppers suddenly appearing in their "hand", which subsequently erupted with confetti. Like a game-show host, they said. "Cong~gra~tu~la~tions~!!! For the winner's prize, your main reality is [Honkai: Star Rail], along with the powers of [The Gamer]! As an additional prize as well, you'll be allowed to customize your own body!"
If I could see myself, I was sure that there were stars in my eyes. Not only would I reincarnate with [The Gamer System], in a reality where I didn't have to necessarily fight and get hurt, I would also choose how I would look like!? However, I realized something strange with Kier's words. 'Main reality?' I asked, finding it quite unusual for them to deem it as such.
Clasping their hands, Kier answered sweetly. "But of course! You should know that the Void is the root of everything, meaning everything, and I mean Everything, like other realities, are connected to it. When beings like I travel to different realities, they must pass through the Void! And, since your soul, you, are more or less "touched" by the Void, you could eventually go to different realities as well!" At their explanation, my suppressed excitement can't help but come out, causing me to squeal at the prospect of going to different realities, to my favorite shows and anime! "Now, then, why don't we make you a body?" This was a no-brainer. With barely contained glee, I immediately appeared in front of the floating screen that suddenly appeared, a figure of featureless female being displayed.
[Timeskip]
Honestly, I don't know how long time passed. When it came to character creation with various options, I usually went all out, trying my best to create my ideal female character, with [Cyberpunk] being the only one that gave me the most freedom. I was actually tempted to create my V from [Cyberpunk], but considering that this body would be mine instead of for a game's, I eventually settled for something resembling Kafka, which was a bit dumb considering she was wanted all around the universe, but I couldn't help myself! Of course, I just closely resembled her, not fully, adding other features like a mole under my left eye, at the upper right breast, close to my armpit, and lastly, at the inside of my left thigh, a darker shade of purple hair, longer as well and styled similarly to Momo Yaoyorozu from [My Hero Academia]. I was also two inches shorter, at the average height of 5'4", in America, anyway, which was 4 inches higher than the average of my home country. And despite liking large breasts, I made mine smaller than Kafka's E-cups, now having respectable D-cups to accommodate my smaller frame. Like I said, I go crazy with character creation.
As for my clothes, as much as I wanted to have the same outfit as Kafka's, once again, wanted criminal. So, I went for my second favorite outfit, the YoRHa issued combat outfit! 2B was my sexual awakening, and Kafka, was obviously, my most recent obsession. Staring at the model on display, I couldn't help but fall in love with my new body. 'Wait. Did that mean that I'm narcissistic?' I questioned myself, but it was ultimately unimportant as I pressed complete.
With my body finished, Kier, who had been watching me and allowing me free reign on my body, giving their own opinions from time to time, smiled genially as they opened their "arms" wide, a circular light suddenly appearing behind them. "Good. Good. With this, everything is done! This is the beginning of your new adventure! Little soul, no, Celestia! May you have a fulfilling life filled with joy and adventures, and may your trail leave a blaze in its wake!" With their smile morphing the a smirk, they "sat", leaning forward slightly with their "chin" on their "hand". "And though I know you seek a peaceful life, do keep in mind to make it entertaining, because I most definitely be checking up on you from time to time!"
Then, from behind me, a rift appeared, a faint purple glow emanating from it as it sucked in my attention. "This is goodbye, for now." Turning around, I stared at the ever-changing being, countless faces and forms coming about each second. Though I was suspicious of them at first, still am, honestly, all I could feel now was gratefulness. Nodding in gratitude, I faintly said, 'Thank you, for everything.'
I took a few steps forward, but before I could enter it, I faintly hear Kier say through the loud rift, "Oh! As a little parting and sorry gift, check your [Inventory]!" Before I could ask them "Why?", I was unexpectedly sucked in through the rift. Then, as I passed through, it was like I was going through a tube at a speed I never knew was possible! For a long while, it was just like that, and during it, I could physically feel my body forming! For what felt nothing, as I legitimately felt everything, from my nerves, bones, organs, and skin! Eventually, I was fully formed, just in time for things to suddenly slow down. The purple "tube" I was in suddenly turned into a a series of purple rings, allowing me to see the wonderous cosmos I was travelling through.
Unconsciously, I let out a, "Woah.", which subsequently surprised me. Upon hearing my voice, I immediately noticed the similarities from Kafka's, as well as the lazy, yet husky drawl it came with it. But there was something slightly different. "Umm... Hi... Hey~... Mm~mm?" I kept playing with my voice, until I finally pinpointed the difference, which wasn't much, that being me having a slightly higher pitch in tone. With that done, eyes finally leaving the beauty of the cosmos, I looked down, to where I was being sent to, and my eyes couldn't help but widen in surprise! "Is that...Earth!?"
From what I know, Earth in the...Star-Rail-verse(?), didn't exist. This info was from what I knew about Welt's lore, who was one of the only two people that came from [Honkai Impact 3rd]. Despite the name, [Honkai Impact 3rd] and [Honkai: Star Rail], despite the similarities in many characters, weren't entirely connected, with the only thing connecting them was this tree thing that connected different realities. Anyway, back to Welt, when he and his friend was stranded to this reality, they were eventually found by Himiko, with Welt staying with the newly formed Astral Express, and the other person going somewhere else. After a bit, Welt had said he was from Earth, but it seems that the planet seemingly didn't exist here, according to Himiko's reaction. Of course, it was unknown if Earth truly didn't exist here, or if it somehow wasn't able to be in the radar of the IPC or any people that searched for any existing civilizations. Heck, this planet may just be one similar to Earth, but entirely different! But, Earth or not, all I could hope for was this planet had people in it and had modern technology! It didn't really matter if this was Earth or not. All I care about was the convenience of technology, people my introverted ass could hopefully make friends with, and curry with tonkatsu!
Eventually, I was getting closer and closer, to the point that I was finally able to see a...building! Seeing sign of civilization, I couldn't help but let out a "Whoop!" in excitement! Then, suddenly, with a weak *Boom!*, I was on the other side of the rift! It was slightly discombobulating, but after a while, I was able to get my bearings. Once I was able to shake the nerves, get used to my body, I took a deep breath, enjoying the air. Idly, I felt like the air was more...fresher, than I was used to? Shaking my head, I just smirked, marveling at the trees as I noticed put my hands on my hips. That was then I noticed surprisingly supple skin against my knuckles, and as a breeze passed through, it was then I noticed that I was naked!
I quickly covered my privates. Instinctually, I shouted, "[Inventory]!". Then, in front of me, a transparent, purple screen appeared. Immediately noticed my clothes, and without much urging, I pressed on it. Infuriatingly, it didn't immediately made it so that I could wear it, instead giving a description, but when I noticed the [Equip] button, I pressed on it! Finally, with the clothes disappearing from my [Inventory], and then appearing on my body, I let out a sigh of relief. Looking around my surroundings, thanking God for the lack of human presence.
Now clothed, I checked out the outfit. Since there were no mirrors, or any reflective surfaces, all I could do was check myself out as is. Firstly, the dress was a bit snug at some parts, more notably around my breasts, but it wasn't all that distracting. The puffy things around my shoulder would take some time to get used to, and so with the feathery ends of my sleeves. The heart-shaped hole on my back was a bit distracting, but it was acceptable. The only thing that peeved me was the slit that reached up to my waist, along with the skirt that just reached above my knees, things which I wasn't used to, since I barely even owned any dresses, but all in all, it was acceptable. The evening gloves were badass, the white against black complimenting the colors greatly, the stockings were fucking sexy, and the leather, thigh-high boots made me feel cool. The heels were a bit befuddling, but I could work with it. Twirling in place, I felt absolutely badass and sexy! I was fairly decent looking in the past and have worked out from time to time, but I never felt all...this about myself!
With my morale at its highest, I looked around, finding a place to sit on, and noticing a large rock, I walked towards it and sat on it. Once seated, I said out loud, "[Menu].", and as expected, a transparent, purple screen appeared, and this time, it showed different options.

The first thing I went to check was [Status], understandably.

- Unallocated Attribute Points: 55
Seeing my stats, I whistled in delight. It was cool that I wasn't starting out as [Level: 0], which begged the question, did people naturally have [Levels]? Anyway, I wasn't expecting this much [HP] and [MP]. The scale didn't look like it was a thousand each level, and a hundred per attribute point. Would need some manual or something for that. The curious thing was my [Charisma] going from [19] to [32]. But...thinking about it now, I was, like, absolutely divine. Was I being narcissistic? Fuck yeah I am. No offense to my old self, but I preferred being absolutely sexy than cutesy. There was also the [Unallocated Attribute Points] which was easy to say was five per [Level], but I'll leave it there until I find out more about the [Attributes]. It also had a model of my, with slots beside it showing my currently equipped items.
Swinging my legs, I went to check my [Inventory]. There seemed to be 25 slots, with two of them filled, one with a gift box, and another was a letter. Curiously, I tapped on the letter, the first thing coming out was its description.
[Gamer Guide]
- A Guide on the ins and outs of the of [The Gamer System], made by Kier!
Raising an eyebrow, I tapped the icon once more, and this time, the manual popped out. Turning it around, checking the cover, it wasn't much exciting. There wasn't that much pages, probably just ten-ish pages, and the book itself was quite small. Opening the guide, I quickly read its contents.

[Gacha]
- Come on, do I really need to explain this to you?
After reading all that, I finally understood my [Attributes]. Still, I left my [Unallocated Attribute Points] untouched. Though, I am a bit peeved with how it was written. Kier really wasn't all that...eloquent with their explanation. Also, why didn't they just make a scroll to keep things straight, having to separate them unnecessarily like this? My interest, piqued, however, I went to check my [Perks] and [Skills].
[Perks]
- [Beginner Artist(+)]
- [Indecisive(+)]
- [Down Bad(Lesbian)(+)]
- [Imaginative(+)]
[Skills]
- [None]
Okay...as offended as I am with the [Down Bad] [Perk], I can't refute the claim. But, why were they [Perks]?
[Indecisive]
- You are really bad at making decisions about yourself.
....."That's it!!? What the fuck!!?" This was unbelievable! This wasn't a [Perk], this was a simple flaw in my personality! But why was it the only one considered a [Perk], when I'm sure I know I have other flaws? For some time, I just stared at it, then, suddenly, it suddenly blinked out of existence. Raising my eyebrow, I rechecked my [Perks], and [Indecisive] just wasn't there anymore. Seeing this, I just took a deep breath, calming myself. In the back of my mind, this just felt like Kier messing with me. Not having the energy to check my other [Perks], and being slightly disappointed, yet understanding, that I have no [Skills], even the [Gamer's Body] and [Gamer's Mind] wasn't there, whatsoever, I went up to check my [Quests]. Surprisingly, there was one [Quest].
[Getting to Know Where You Are]
- Learn more about the planet you were sent to!
- Requirement/s:
- Locate Civilization or,
- Gain clues from your surroundings.
- Failure Condition/s:
- None
- Reward/s:
- 1,000 EXP
- 1,000 Credits
- 10 Packaged Meals
- 1 Survival Kit
- 1 Weapon Ticket
- 1 Emergency Healing Talisman
- ??? Skill
"Huh. That's rather straightforward." I say to myself, looking at the description and at the [Rewards]. It looked rather good, but the curious thing was the [Survival Kit]. Why, exactly, did I need it? With no one answering my question, I just sighed, waving away the screen. Going back to my [Inventory], I tried doing as was written in the guide, and once I thought about the gift appearing on the palm of my hand, it suddenly came into existence! With the item in hand, I observed it for a bit, turning around, checking for anything suspicious. When Kier gave me the gift, they said something about being sorry, for some reason. Was this a prank? Hopefully not. Of course, I can't just leave this as is, and whether it was a prank or not, I have to open it, mostly for my curiosity.
Sighing, I slowly pulled the end of one of the ribbon. Eventually, I fully pulled it, untangling it and suddenly causing it to burst into particles! Afterwards, a screen appeared in front of me!
[Parting and Apology Gift~!]
- Phone (Infinite Charge and Data Plan)
- iPad (Infinite Charge)
- 5x Clothes (Casual)
- 5x Undergarments
- 2x Dagger
- 10x Packaged Meal
- 10x Water Bottles
- 10x Chips
"Fuck yeah!" After my exclamation, I went to my [Inventory], seeing 10 of my 25 slots filled, with one of them being the guide book. Taking out a water bottle, I tapped on my Phone while taking a sip.
[Phone]
- As a parting gift, I'll let you have your phone! I also made sure that you wouldn't need to charge, and even added a Data Plan compatible to every network.
Reading the description, I rolled my eyes as I chuckled, glad to have something that could help me out in my current dilemma of searching for civilization. Taking out my phone, I realized that it was the same model as my old one, which peeved me a bit, considering I hated that phone, but you win some, you lose some. When I turned it on, I noticed that it really was my old phone from my lock screen. The time was 8:24 A.M., plenty of time to search for any sign of people and..."Fuck! What's the use of the infinite data plan if there's no bars!?" I shouted in frustration, seeing not even a single bar present. Huffing, I looked around, coming to terms that I would have to search with no help whatsoever. Not even a compass!
Shaking my head, I put my phone back in my [Inventory], together with the half-full water bottle, which didn't stack up with the other water bottles. "If I didn't get turned around when I left the rift, the building I saw should be..." Remembering the sight of a building while "falling" from the sky, I pointed at where I felt was the direction of it. "...That way?" Still, I was unsure whether that was right or not, but it was better than just staying here and waiting, hoping, that someone would find me. I, then, began walking towards where I hoped was civilization, and while doing so, I went to check my [Class], years of checking my phone while walking allowing me to easily multitask and dodge the trees in front of me. As for why I was checking it, it was left as undecided, not none or anything else.
Opening my [Status Screen], I pressed on the [Class] section, which then replaced the [Status Scree] with a different one that showed three options!
[Class Select]
[Mage][Rogue][Warrior]
A grin couldn't help but appear on my face. Yeah, I was really starting to feel like a [Gamer]. First thing first, as cool as [Mage] was, like, who wouldn't want to be shrouded by any element and go fucking beast mode with it, I opted to not choose it, for my first [Class], anyway. Flinging magic around would be a dream come true, but I would rather go for something that would increase my survival first and foremost. I mean, I know being a [Mage] would let me teleport and shit, but I most definitely not get a [Skill] like that right off the bat. So, that leaves me with [Rogue] and [Warrior]. The former allowed for a more stealthy option, making me get past enemies, if such people did exist here, then I could just slip past them! As for the latter, I could probably fight my enemies head-on, but at the reminder of a fight, I ultimately went for [Rogue].
[Rogue]
- A rogue is a versatile character, capable of sneaky combat and nimble tricks. The rogue is stealthy and dexterous, able to hide there presence completely to deal a devastating ambush.
- Attribute Points distribution will be:
- - Strength: [1]
- - Dexterity: [3]
- - Intelligence: [1]
- - Constitution: [1]
- - Wisdom: [1]
- - Agility: [3]
- - Charisma: [0]
- - Luck: [0]
- Reward/s for choosing [Class]:
- [Perk: Stealth]
- [Perk: Backstab]
Nodding my head, I felt much safer. This way, I could protect myself, even if it was by hiding. Checking my newly gained [Perks], the first one was [Stealth].
[Stealth]
[Level: 1]
A predator, presence concealed, unknown by the prey. People may call it cowardly, dishonorable, unfair, but as the Executioner in the Shadows, it matters not.
- Passive: Conceal your presence by 10%.
- Passive: Increase Crit Rate by 10%
[Stealth] was straightforward, and though I don't know how much 10% meant when it came to stealth, I began experimenting. I was already rather stealthy in the past, steps always quite, silent when with friends, preferring the dark. As best I could, I made so to avoid stepping on things that would make any noticeable noise, gently walking while remaining at a decent pace, while also keeping close to the shadows, both in hopes to increase my level in [Stealth] and avoid the heat from the sun. While doing so, I went to check my other [Perk].
[Backstab]
[Level: 1]
Betrayal is one of the most painful things in the world a person can experience, emotionally. Physically? A stab from the back.
- Passive: Increase Damage by 10% if enemy is stabbed in the back.
With that done, I went to check my [Music], feeling that it was getting too quite. Opening my [Music], I was glad it didn't look complicated. Going to the [Search] tab, I looked up [Rain Paris] and was elated to have her rock covers pop. Uncaring which song it was, I pressed shuffle on one of the playlists shown. At first, there didn't seem to be any change, but moments later, I heard the riff of an electrical guitar directly to my ears! Smiling, I began bopping my head to the music, [Astronaut in the Ocean]! However, despite the music blasting to my ears, I was still able to clearly hear my surroundings, from the rustling of the leaves, to the sound of the breeze.
For some time, as I continued my trek, listening to music, I was trying my best to get a [Skill], specifically, the [Skill: Observe]! The guide said I could get [Perks] and [Skills] naturally and if I work hard enough! So, after constant trial and error, my efforts were finally rewarded!
[Congratulations! Through sheer dedication, you managed to gain the [Skill], [Observe]!]
[Observe]
[Level: 1]
The eyes are the window to the soul, and actions speak louder than words, observe all this, and you'll know how a person ticks.
- 150 MP per use
- Allows you to know the target's [Name], [Level] and [Attributes].
- Targets who are 30 [Levels] higher than you are can not be [Observed].
"Hell, yeah!" Achieving this wonderful feat, I raised my fists in joy. Not only did I confirm that I could gain [Perks] and [Skills] through hard work, but I also gained a very important [Skill]! Knowing my enemy's [Attributes] was a huge advantage, and not only that, I was really shit at names! With [Observe], I didn't need to remember people's names! Spirits high, I continued my trek and [Stealth] "training". I have yet to see any improvement with my [Perk], but I continued to do it anyway.
Then, after a few more minutes of walking, where I was contemplating I should just sate my hunger with chips or just eat a meal, I saw signs of a clearing! Quickening my pace, I was getting rather excited! Hopefully, hopefully, I could finally find something!
Pushing my way through the bushes, I jumped out of the forest, landing on a patch of grass. Looking up, the sight of a road met my eyes. I would have squealed in delight, because finally, a sign! But I immediately noticed something wrong, dousing my thoughts of celebration. In front of me was a road, but it wasn't well-maintained. Fuck, it looked like an earthquake came and ruined it!
Taking a deep breath, I told myself, "Calm down, Celestia. There should be a logical explanation to this." Did an earthquake really come and ruined the road? I mean, it did look like it...but that didn't explain the claw-like gouges, or the tiny craters, like a laser hit them. Shaking my head, calming my beating heart, I took out another water bottle, downing its contents. "Cough! Cough!" At my urgency, I managed to choke on fucking water! Throwing the empty water bottle to my [Inventory], I ran my arm around my mouth, wiping the water away. For a moment, I just stood in place, calming my erratic heart.
I had a rather imaginative mind, you know, one that wasn't helping me to calm down, at all! Imagination running rampant, I could just visualize what could have happened here. An attack. By who? Unsure, but my mind came up with the most logical conclusion, considering what reality I was in, the Antimatter Legion, or maybe the Fragmentum. What did that mean? I'm in a planet either being invaded, or have been destroyed by the Antimatter Legion. Was it true? I sure as hell hope not. And considering my [Quest] didn't get completed from my speculations, it kept me grounded, but only somewhat.
Clutching my heart with my left hand, I equipped a dagger on my right hand. There was no other choice. If I wanted to find out where I am, I have to keep on moving forward. Making my decision, I began following the road, but I didn't walk on it. Instead, I walked beside the trees, keeping to the shadows, just in case. "You better not have sent me somewhere dangerous, Kier." I threatened the being weakly, knowing it was useless.
