Chapter Text
This mission was fucking stupid. Who in their right mind would send two mafia executives to a hero school ? At least he wasn’t in the same class as that Mackerel Chuuya wouldn't be able to handle the bastard and hero students. He walked into homeroom acknowledging the person lying in a giant yellow sleeping bag with a subtle nod then found his seat. Before he could sit down a very stiff kid rushed up to him. “Your uniform is incorrect please take those gloves and choker off immediately! Additionally unnatural hair color is unacceptable please change it as soon as possible,”
Was this kid serious? There was a girl not even five feet away from Chuuya who was entirely pink and there was someone right next to him with dyed hair and he was concerned that Chuuya had red hair? “First of all, my hair is natural. Second, these gloves help me with my quirk. Think before you speak asshole.” The boy who was visibly insulted started to reply but was interrupted by the sleeping bag man.
“If you're here for socializing then get out. My name is Shouta Aizawa I will be your teacher for this year,” as he said this the newly named teacher pulled tracksuits out of his sleeping bag. Chuuya wondered how conformable those were to sleep on as Aizawa continued, “Put these on and meet me outside in ten minutes,” there were a few seconds of hesitation before his classmates scrambled to the front to find a suit in their size and filing out of the room towards the locker rooms.
Once in the locker room, he found a nice abandoned corner to change in, or at least until the red-haired kid approached him. “Hey man, what are you doing all the way over here?” the kid slapped his hand on Chuuya’s still bare shoulder understanding filling his eyes. “Oh! Is this about your scars?” he practically yelled to the entire locker room. “Don't worry man, we’ve all got some scars,” he said as he pointed to the very tiny scar going over his eyebrow something very insignificant compared to the swirling scars that covered Chuuya’s body. The red-haired kid ran off to finish changing before he could respond so Chuuya decided to finish changing as well, ignoring the feeling of eyes in his back.
“How far could you throw a ball in middle school?” they were testing their quirks instead of going to orientation which was great because he didn't want to go to a stuffy ceremony anyway. Chuuya liked the sleeping bag man he seemed to be very practical and not interested in any of the flashy hero stuff. The boy he was questioning stepped forward into a chalk circle and got into a pitcher stance before launching the ball with a well-timed explosion, the teacher turned around to show the screen on his phone the boy got over 700 meters. Yeah, this was going to be fun.
Chuuya stood next to the robot boy for the 50-meter dash waiting for the signal to go. A whistle was blown and Chuuya was off like a bullet “1.35 seconds!” The robot at the end called out, it wasn't his best time but it’ll do.
He accidentally broke the machine for the grip strength test he thought it would've been stronger since people with strength quirks attend the school but apparently not.
Did a standing long jump matter when you could fly? Chuuya didn't know but the teacher just sighed and wrote down infinity so he guessed it was alright.
He got infinity on his ball throw as well feeling a little pride when the gravity girl realized he was better.
After all the other kids left for the locker rooms, the teacher called for Chuuya to stay back. “Why were you holding back?” shit, how had he seen through the act so easily?
“Ah well you know I didn't want everyone to feel weak so I figured I'd try to stay on par with them,” he lied
“Do you have time to do it again? With your full power of course,”
“Uh, sure,”
Shouta watched Nakahara fly (literally) through the tests doing much better than he did with the class, he was pretty sure Nakahara lied when he told him his reasoning for holding back but at least he wasn't holding back as much anymore. Once he finished the tests Nakahara approached him. “How’d I do?”
“Better but you can’t keep holding yourself back it’s going to get you in trouble someday,” the kid looked surprised that he still saw through the facade he was trying to put on.
“I think I’ll be okay sir,” his face was completely serious.
“If it is a problem with your quirk there are people here that can help you,” Shouta offered “It can be me if you really want it to be. Go change and head on home, don't forget to take the syllabus before you leave,”
“Yes sir,”
He waited till Nakahara was gone to start heading up to Nedzu's office. The doors opened on their own just as he went to knock. “Hello Shouta! You're here to talk about Nakahara correct?”
“Correct, I'm worried his quirk is too powerful to handle,”
“Ah yes, all that holding back will sure pose a problem for him,” How Nedzu knew that was beyond Shouta but at least he was on the hero's side. “Though I believe Nakahara will be alright. If he needs help I am sure he will come and get it,”
