Common Enemy

Summary:

KID's reply to Furuya's offer.

Notes:

Work Text:

Amuro was working when a dove landed next to him, a ribbon attached to its leg.

"Coo!"

He smiles as he receives the message from the dove's leg, untying the ribbon. The dove nuzzled him before flying away.

He meets KID on a rooftop.

"Have you considered my offer?" Furuya asks with a smile.

"Yes,” KID nods, “But before I accept, I need to ask you something."

"What is it?"

"Is there a branch of your organization that has animal code names, by any chance?"

"Hm…" Furuya hums before answering, "The branches don't usually interact with each other, but I have heard of them. Why?"

"If that's true, then it seems we have the same enemy, Furuya-san," KID sighs.

"Oh?" He raises an eyebrow.

"They keep trying to kill me…especially Snake or Jackal as he's called internationally. Sometimes snipers show up at my less public heists as well."

His brow twitches, "...I see…"

"Then let me ask you this. Why are they your enemy?"

It takes a moment before KID answers with a frown, "... they killed my predecessor.” Then he smiles even though there’s fire in his eyes, “As for revenge… I plan to destroy their hopes and dreams, and kick them into the depths of despair."

Furuya chuckles at the thought of that kind of revenge coming true before grinning, "Well… I think that can be arranged."

They agree to work together as collaborators and accomplices from then on.

Bonus:

A white rose appears in KID’s hand out of nowhere, giving it to him as a courtesy, “To our cooperation then, Furuya Rei-san.”

Furuya smiles as he takes KID’s hand and lightly kisses the petals of the rose, “I look forward to it, Kuroba Kaito-kun.”

KID blushes, not used to anyone flirting back with him. And did he just…?

He laughs, “You’re cute.”

Embarrassed, KID --Kaito tries to poof away with a smoke bomb, but his wrist is caught by a large hand.

Pulling Kaito in and preventing him from escaping, Furuya wraps his arms around him.

“Caught you,” he murmurs into Kaito’s ear, causing him to shiver.

Sighing, Kaito lays limp in Furuya’s grasp. He knows when it’s time to give up.

Then, he notices the older man’s frown, and asks, “Furuya-san?”

“...you’re too thin and light,” he hears Furuya mutter under his breath before he’s picked up like a sack of rice and carried away.

Apparently, Furuya fed him well that night.
