Diya woke up and rolled over to turn off the obnoxious alarm and opened her eyes, she doesn’t remember setting it at 7:00 in the morning. To her knowledge she had nothing of importance going on that day, just a Saturday full of relaxing & snuggling with her girlfriend, who was also missing from the bed they shared. Instead, Min was sitting next to Diya, Still in their pajamas (which consisted of workout shorts and a large MCR shirt) wearing a big smile on their face.
It was a smile full of admiration and kindness, a rare expression only Diya usually sees. Ever since they started dating she has begun to see that smile more often.
“Morning” said Min, sounding chipper for somebody who just woke up at 7:00 AM
“Morning”
Min leaned in and peppered Diya with little kisses along her neck, which she gladly reciprocated by embracing them in her strong arms. Both of their bodies radiate warmth as they lie together on the bed.
“You’re up pretty early”
“yeah! we got a lot planned today!”
Diya gave her a perplexed look, “but it's Saturday, neither of us have work today”
“Mhm, we still have plans though”
Diya, now thoroughly confused at what Min was saying, loosened her grip on Min to allow them to escape her hug.
“Are you talking about the Lego movie theater set we got as an anniversary gift?”
The two had recently celebrated their 5th anniversary together as a couple, and received many gifts. Noelle gifted the two a Binder full of handwritten notes on how to properly handle finances as a couple, While Akarsha got them a Lego set haul to sedate the couple’s newly acquired hobby. It's no contest to figure out what Min was more excited about.
“Nope, just get dressed, it's a surprise”
Unsure what to make of Min's statement, Diya got out of bed and proceeded to assemble an outfit for today. “We’re gonna be doing a lot of walking today so wear something comfortable” Min stated, they were putting on a Gorillaz T-shirt. “That's kind of hypocritical considering what you wore a few days ago at the dog park” Diya accidentally let the word slip without realizing it, Pom & Shibe bolted into the bedroom with the energy of a thousand suns, ready to go to the dog park. “Hey! The leather jacket made me look badass! So what if it was 98 degrees?” Min retorted, nearly falling over onto the bed when Shibe rushed past them. They leaned back onto the bed playing it off as a intentional move
“You almost passed out and I had to ‘princess carry’ you home” Diya said with a hint of concern in her voice. She was now out of bed only wearing pikachu pajama pants and a plain black bra. “I was so worried we would have to take you to the ICU” Thankfully, it was just a minor heat stroke that Min quickly recovered from.
There was a five second pause in the conversation, Min got distracted admiring Diya’s abs for the thousandth time. “What were you saying?” Diya teased. They pulled their eyes away from her girlfriend’s toned figure, they looked at her in the eyes and had a pink hue “Well…., I HAD to wear it. You got it for me. I looked awesome!”
“You always look awesome” said Diya. She walked over and planted a kiss on Min’s lips.
After showering and going through her morning routine, Diya settled on wearing loose workout shorts with a gray tank top, she tied a floral pattern hoodie around her waist. A comfortable yet versatile outfit. Min has settled on wearing the aforementioned T-shirt and loose black jorts.
Whatever Min had prepared for her, they thought it out well. On the counter sat two pull string backpacks filled with what she can assume to be supplies for the adventure they had in store today. Looking inside one of them, there were waters, protein bars, and one of those handheld electric fans. Just as she was about to look inside the other bag, Min quickly snatched both bags from the counter, Eyes wide. “I-I’ll carry them, cmon! I already have the car started!”
“What time did you wake up to prepare all of this, you only act like this when it's something super important” Diya, now very curious to what Min had planned today. “Everything is ok right?”
Min paused, and looked back towards Diya with a reassuring smile “yeah, You ready என் காதல்?”
“Yup, lead the way 내사랑”
Both of them say goodbye to pom & shibe, close the apartment door, and start walking down the stairs to the car. The car is an old gray SUV that her parents managed to score from a Facebook listing, as a gift for Diya’s 18th birthday. While it wasn’t the corvette that Min talked about when the two were younger, it got them both from point A to point B just fine.
Min hopped in the driver's seat and started up the car before immediately scrambling out of the car. “HOLY SHIT!” they yelled, and raced over to prevent Diya from entering the passenger’s seat. “DON'T ENTER, YOU WILL GET COOKED”
Diya chuckled and leaned down to give her girlfriend a kiss. “For looking out for me”
The two stood outside the car for a bit “I think it is now safe to enter” said Diya
Min, having recovered from nearly getting air fried now enters the car with Diya. They put the location into the GPS, ‘Now heading to Oakland Zoo, Take a left.’
