Chapter Text
the sole reader of the
story
dictating the rules of a ruined world
the one who's salvation is more of a
curse
than a blessing
the one who stands upon the cliff watching the point where the
light and darkness
meet
the fifth one constricted by the
golden headband
the constellation clad in a
flowy, white coat
the being who never dreams
of his own happiness
kim dokja is a
Liar
kim dokja, you are nothing but a
Liar
i think
maybe
i might love you more than i love myself
than you love yourself
than you love me
i think
maybe
we shouldn't think of these scars on our wrists
as something insignificant
as haunted
as Lies
as a reminder when things went wrong
you should wield your sword again
you should wake up, you know?
you should read it again
again, again, and again
for all of eternity
but you
won't
you say you will
but you
won't
because
kim dokja, you are nothing but a
Liar
being wheeled away on that hospital bed
“You, just who the hell are you?”
a
Liar
that’s what you are
kim dokja, you are nothing but a
Liar
time is ticking by too slowly
for how much longer will you stay trapped behind the wall?
for how much longer will you hide?
for how much longer will you ignore your scars?
for how much longer will you Lie?
so you say you are a hypocrite
but i am too
I love you when I can’t love myself
I read your story when I can’t bear to look at my own
I call you out on your Lies when I don’t even know what’s the truth
saved by the story, weren’t you?
well
so was i
sacrificing yourself
again and again
sly, cunning
intuitive, intelligent
did they believe you
when you told them
it was all just a story
was it all just a story to you?
i don’t think so
I, like many others,
read your story to the end
and even though
the story doesn’t end unless the reader gives up on it
i watched you split yourself into two
49
51
those two
though they had separate egos
separate memories
separate thoughts, feelings, will
they were still you
still kim dokja
and, kim dokja, you are nothing but a
Liar.
