Work Text:
The neatest garden is Anne Flanagan’s,
Her life is ordered with a careful hand;
She disapproves of all shenanigans
And keeps her home the cleanest in the land.
Oisín her teenage son knows to beware
Her wooden spoon and disapproving gaze;
Yet Anne’s intent is to raise him with care,
As lovingly she schedules his days.
Oisín’s best buddy Barry never knocks,
But makes himself at home when Anne is there;
Though first she’ll carp about his smelly socks,
She ends up feeding him his favourite fare.
For Anne must always do what’s kind and right,
And never would be cruel or impolite.
