Work Text:

Haitham likes when Kaveh touches the back of his neck.

Well, maybe “like” isn’t the right word.

He folds, it does things to him that he doesn't understand.

The first time was innocent, he was reading on the divan when Kaveh came up behind him and placed his fingertips on the back of his neck. Alhaitham remembers how his eyes fluttered at the gentle touch. Kaveh had to repeat his question because Alhaitham had been too busy with the prickling feeling rolling through his body.

The second time was when he was carrying Kaveh home. Kaveh was on his back, it was easier when he was so drunk and Alhaitham could move faster.

Until Kaveh started pressing his lips to the junction of his neck and shoulder while Kaveh traced little shapes on his neck, sometimes going up into his hair. Alhaitham had to stop and lean against a wall to compose himself before gritting out, “Kaveh, enough of that.”

It was one of the few times Kaveh listened to him the first time and he almost regretted it. It was better this way though, he spent the rest of the walk home willing his dick to calm down.

That night he had tried to repeat the gestures himself but to no avail, it seemed to be something only an outside source could do. Probably something only Kaveh could do.

The third time was after an argument, Kaveh had come home late and Alhaitham, for all his self control, lashed out at Kaveh. It would have been fine if Kaveh was drunk, that was typical. What wasn’t typical was the sparkle in his eye as he talked about another man.

Alhaitham was less than pleased, Kaveh had trysts before but none ever had him out at all hours where Alhaitham didn’t know where to find him. He remembers that conversation perfectly.

“So you just go out with strangers now?”

Kaveh gave him a look of confusion.

“He’s not a stranger, we’re just getting to know each other.”

Alhaitham rolled his eyes, getting up to go to his room, he wasn’t willing to listen to what another man had done to Kaveh or how Kaveh would defend him.

“I’m going to bed.”

“Hey! Don’t walk away from me! What’s the matter with you?”

Alhaitham would never admit it but he let himself be intercepted. He let Kaveh come between him and his bedroom door. He looked down into red eyes and sighed.

“I just don’t feel well, let me go.”

He watched Kaveh’s hands come up to his face, one on his cheek to stop him from turning away and one to his forehead.

“Well, you don’t seem to have a fever, is it a headache?”

Alhaitham couldn’t answer, not when he was lost in the feeling of Kaveh’s hands moving down from his cheeks to his neck where his fingertips played with his hairline at the back of his neck.

“Haitham?”

Alhaitham leans his forehead against Kaveh’s, a bold show of his weakness that has Kaveh starting to step back. Alhaitham quickly responds.

“Yes, headache, but this helps.”

“What helps? Oh. Do you want to sit down, I can do it until you feel better. Or if you wanted to go to bed I could do it until you fall asleep.”

Alhaitham wanted to say yes so bad. To either. Just to feel more of Kaveh’s attention on him, more of his hands, but he couldn’t risk Kaveh knowing the extent of its effects.

“No, thank you though. I’m just going to sleep.”

And then he steps around Kaveh and rushes to his room to avoid the risk of Kaveh looking him up and down.

Alhaitham remembered hoping Kaveh would forget that bit of information. He didn’t. All the fleeting touches Kaveh had used against him in the past week had finally boiled over when Kaveh boldly sat in his lap, demanding his attention.

“Kaveh, what-“

“You like when I touch your neck.”

It’s a statement, not a question, that has Alhaitham feeling the heat crawling up his neck.

“Yes.”

“Do you like me?”

Alhaitham glares at him, but it softens when he sees the vulnerable look in Kaveh’s eyes.

“I let you into my home, didn’t I?”

Kaveh frowns, but leans forward and places his hands on Alhaitham's neck. He giggles when Alhaitham’s eyes flutter shut.

“It’s a yes or no question, Haitham.”

“Yes.”

As soon as he breathes the word out Kaveh kisses him. Alhaitham’s arms immediately pull Kaveh tight to him to deepen it. Kaveh’s fingers dance along the back of his neck, and Alhaitham’s hands grip Kaveh’s hips tightly.

With great difficulty, Alhaitham pulls away first.

“What about you, Kaveh?

“What about me?”

Alhaitham pulls Kaveh’s hands away.

“Do you like me?”

Kaveh smirks at him.

“I kissed you, didn’t I?”

“It’s yes or no question, as I recall.”

“Then my answer is no.”

Kaveh watches Alhaitham’s face fall, feeling a bit guilty.

“I have no interest in being one of your temporary playthings, Kaveh. Please get off.”

“Well, that’s good. I don’t want this to be temporary. I think I love you, Haitham.”

Kaveh looks away as Alhaitham searches his eyes.

“That was cruel, Kaveh. I’m surprised. You’ll have to make it up to me.”

Kaveh laughs, it’s full of joy as he meets Alhaitham’s eyes again.

“Sorry, I couldn’t resist trying to get you back after all your jealous nagging. I can certainly make it up to you.”

Then Alhaitham is pulling Kaveh back into a kiss. Kaveh’s hands back on his neck and Alhaitham can’t think of anywhere he’d rather be.
