Tango fell back with a yell as the whole cave shook around him, bits of dirt and rubble raining down on him, cracks appearing in the ceiling. That was what felt like the thousandth time that had happened during his mining session, and it was slowly but surely driving him insane. There was a time and place for brain-rattling explosions, but while he was excavating for the new level of Decked Out and right over his excavation spot for the new level of Decked Out was just not it. Tango pulled himself off the ground with a huff, dusting himself off before the ground shook out from under his feet again, sending him tumbling down once more. There should have been smoke pouring from his ears, he felt, as he simmered in his frustration on the rough rock covering the floor, breathing shallowly so as not to breathe in too much of the stone dust.
“That’s it,” he muttered. There was really nothing else to do at that point, but to mine his way up to the surface, have a nice little chat with whoever was responsible for all the bruises on his bottom. The walls crumbled easily under the hits of his pickaxe, aided by the enchantments imbued in the shimmering gems it was made of. The stone gave way to pockets of granite and andesite, pieces of the minerals tumbling down the makeshift staircase around him. There was one point when his head popped through an opening to a massive cave system, the roof so high up he couldn’t make it out in the darkness. The hoards of aggressive mobs making a beeline for him right away were quick to chase him up the nearest wall, blocking off the space behind him with a large pile of rubble before continuing on his way up. The faint clattering of a skeleton falling over behind it as another rumble shook the world around them. This time, he managed to throw his arms wide open, catching himself in the uneven rock face that made up the walls of the narrow channel around him. The force of his renewed anger pushed him onward, through the shower of dust and pebbles that he made his way through with furrowed brows and a frown on his face. The last bit of stone crumbled to dust under his pick, the dirt above joining it after just a few more swings. Twinkling sunlight beamed in through the perfectly Tango-sized hole he’d created, blinding him for a few, long seconds after so long spent in his dungeons and the mine. That was probably a good thing considering that as soon as his vision cleared, he very nearly fell right back down the hole at the sight that awaited him. Two towering robots, sunlighting glinting off of their redstone components, slime blocks squelching as the pieces that they bound together moved through the air. They seemed to be approaching one another, which Tango did not take as a good sign. The rim of the hole crumbled a little bit more around him as the ground shook again, the explosion ringing in his ear this close to its source. Tango most definitely did not want to stick around long enough to find out what happened once the two met, though he did have a fairly good idea, judging by the stacks of TNT that were attached to the front of the larger one.
Tango, very wisely, pulled his head back into his tunnel, blocking off the opening he had bade and retreating back down the shabby staircase toward his own base. The best thing to do, it seemed, was to wait out the explosions, after all.
