Work Text:
The ocean calls my name,
A tempting siren song.
The sound of waves -
Washing over me;
With empty threats of drowning.
For I can swim stronger
Than the raging current all around.
People say its deadly,
For me it's my escape.
Dive beneath the surface,
And explore the depths below.
In solitude and tranquility;
Where sun's rays can’t find me,
But the moon always knows
And watches me below.
Deep beneath the solid ground,
All I've lost has now been found.
The sea owns a piece of me,
And I am thankful for the lightened load.
I wonder for how long
I can stay in paradise.
Until my lungs begin to burn;
A desperate air hunger
I breach the surface,
The salt air stings my lungs.
And the waves long
To bring me down once more
The sun is setting now,
And the moon is up above.
I make my way to the sandy shore,
And kiss the waves goodbye.
With sore muscles I take a seat,
Watching waves in summer heat.
I wonder and long
For this addicting siren’s song.
