Work Text:
The Outskirts of A City
There lies a place,
Far beyond the city walls.
No one knows your face -
No one knows what you are called.
There's a sense of anonymity -
Like a shipwreck undersea.
Where distant lights can't find
My former self I've left behind.
Here I’m someone new.
Someone who -
could be good for you.
Might, be good for you.
Here I am, in our sacred place.
Far beyond the city streets.
With lights like a fire’s blaze.
And I long for the days to repeat.
Will you stay?
Please don’t run.
I’m so tired of - trying to outrun
My problems for the day
There lies a place,
Far beyond the concrete jungle.
Where we can make our space -
And get into good trouble.
Just a couple of wild ones,
With the witness of the sun.
Say you’ll run away with me -
Never to return.
