Work Text:
Old Dolio wakes up promptly at 600 am for her shift at the gas station. Her watch alarm illuminating the room, with a soft glow. She looks over at Melanie, the heavy sleeper not needing to be up for another hour.
Old dolio carefully grabs Melanie's arm and moves it on to the bed while climbing out to start her day.
Working at the gas station around the corner was a blessing in disguise. It's close enough that the walk to work is short, but never in her life has Dolio spoken to so many people in such a short time. But hey, most people follow the script Dolio keeps a mental check of in her head.
Life with Melanie is beyond anything Dolio could ever dream for. Having always longed for connection and the certain kind of intimacy only real love could bring out, Melanie made it all real.
Just the other day while cooking dinner, it dawned on Dolio, that she was living the life she's been yearning for. For as long as Melanie would have her, Dolio would stay.
Sitting at the front counter Dolio thinks on her relationship and ponders the unknown. Her future for once feels bright and with that feeling the unknown doesn't seem so scary anymore.
