Chapter: Damian's Bath Time

Dick Grayson entered Damian's room with a confident smile, carrying an armful of towels and bath essentials. Giving Damian a reassuring nod, he began setting up for what he believed would be a straightforward task—giving his younger brother a bath.

"Alright, Damian," Dick said cheerfully, "let's get you all cleaned up for the dance."

Damian eyed the bathtub warily, his expression guarded. "I don't need a bath, Grayson."

Dick chuckled. "Oh come on, Dami. Everyone needs a good scrub now and then."

Damian's eyes narrowed, a determined glint in them. "I don't want a bath."

Dick knelt down to Damian's level, his smile unwavering. "It's just a bath, little guy. Trust me, you'll feel great afterward."

Damian crossed his arms defiantly, his voice tinged with irritation. "I refuse to cooperate."

Unfazed, Dick began to undress Damian, his tone gentle. "Come on, Damian. Let's not make this more difficult than it needs to be."

As Damian's clothes were removed, he scowled at Dick. "I can't believe you're making me do this."

Dick patted Damian's shoulder. "Hey, even Batman needs to take a bath."

Damian's eyes flared with annoyance. "I'm not Batman."

With Damian now stripped down to his underwear, Dick guided him toward the bathtub. Damian planted his feet firmly on the ground, arms crossed in defiance.

"I'm not getting in there," Damian stated, his tone adamant.

Dick let out a patient sigh. "Damian, we're just trying to make sure you're presentable for the dance."

Damian's expression remained resolute, his cheeks slightly flushed with frustration. "I don't care about the dance."

Dick held back a chuckle, understanding that Damian was simply exhibiting his usual stubbornness. He decided to approach the situation with a different tactic. "You know, Damian, if you take a bath, you'll be all fresh and clean. You'll feel better and you'll smell nice."

Damian's frown deepened, but he seemed to be considering Dick's words. He let out a reluctant sigh, his arms slowly uncrossing. "Fine, but I'm not happy about it."

Dick smiled warmly. "That's the spirit."

As Damian finally stepped into the tub, Dick began to fill it with warm water. Damian's posture was tense, his expression a mixture of annoyance and resignation.

As the water level rose, Damian cast a cautious glance at Dick. "I can't believe I'm actually doing this."

Dick chuckled, grabbing a washcloth and soap. "See? It's not so bad."

As he started to wash Damian's hair, Damian squirmed slightly, clearly uncomfortable with the situation. Dick maintained a soothing tone. "Relax, Damian. It'll be over before you know it."

Despite Damian's initial resistance, the soothing warmth of the water and Dick's calming presence seemed to have a positive effect. Gradually, Damian's tense shoulders relaxed, and he even allowed himself a small sigh of contentment.

By the time Dick was finished, Damian's hair was clean and his skin glowed with a newfound freshness. Damian stepped out of the tub, wrapped in a towel, his irritation from earlier now replaced with a sense of satisfaction.

Dick ruffled Damian's damp hair affectionately. "See? That wasn't so bad, was it?"

Damian cast a grudging smile at Dick. "I suppose not."

As Damian dried off and got dressed in his formal attire for the dance, he couldn't help but acknowledge that perhaps his initial resistance had been a bit unnecessary. He looked at Dick with a hint of gratitude.

"Thanks, Grayson," Damian said, his voice genuine.

Dick winked. "Anytime, little brother. Now, let's get you ready to rock that dance floor."

As they left the room, Damian couldn't shake the feeling that even the most stubborn of battles could lead to moments of connection and understanding. He had learned that sometimes, even if you don't initially want to, giving in to the efforts of those who care about you can lead to surprising and positive outcomes.
