Work Text:
One beautiful evening, Sheep was staring through one of the windows in his unrealistically-affordable apartment, and looking down upon the Big City. He was thinking about his life and reflecting on his decision to move to the city. It had been so long since Sheep moved there, so long in fact that he had forgotten when he moved. But that didn't matter to the sheep, as he was more focused on if things had changed. Things indeed had changed, for the better and for the worst.
City life was not perfect for Sheep. He had to go along on what the Big City brings for him, from paying bills and rent, having to go to work for his different jobs, and doing community service every now and then (though Sheep did enjoy it at times). Alongside it, Sheep had to avoid a secret military organization, ran by General Specific, trying to capture him for a sheep-powered ray-gun that only he can fit in. If that wasn't enough, Sheep also had to avoid Lady Virginia Richington, who would often smack him on the head whenever he tried to see his friend (or her poodle), Swanky. Sheep also had to occasionally avoid several of his enemies like Lisa Rental, who is now older and realized that Sheep is not a dog, but still wants him for a pet; and Farmer John, his ex-owner who is hyper-fixated on him and try and try again to get him back to the farm via perturbing means.
Despite all that, there were a lot of benefits that came with living in the Big City. Though still present, Sheep can enjoy life more peacefully and felt like he had more of a purpose without Farmer John. Sheep had found a more nicer place to live in: a cozy apartment that was located in a nice neighborhood and was conveniently priced for him. Sheep also had found some new friends, like Swanky, a poodle who is always supportive of Sheep and is fun to hang with. But nothing can come close to him than finally finding a love partner after so long. Back at the farm, Sheep always wanted to have someone he can love and grow close to, and had developed a crush on Clammy and, later, Frammy. However, that quickly faded away when these two sheep had lost interest in him, and that only solidified when he found out the aftermath of them along with his other former friend, Sammy, when he visited the farm for a reunion. When Sheep just moved to the Big City, he saw Swanky for the first time and instantly fell in love with her, despite not knowing who she was. Sheep felt silly about it all of these years later, and was surprised that Swanky actually felt the same for him until she grew out of it and got to know him more. Sheep did eventually fall in love with her for real, but that was short-lived after Swanky told him how she really felt and would prefer just being friends with him. Though he was upset at first, Sheep felt more happy to be Swanky's friend and thought they're better off as friends. Eventually, his quest for trying to find a love partner finally concluded when Sheep became boyfriends with X Agent. Sheep had never met such a caring and supportive sheep like X Agent, not even his old buddies at the farm were like that, and it was such a blessing that he was able to be his love partner and grow more close to him. Sheep loved X Agent very much, and that made Sheep more proud than ever that he had decided to live in the Big City, rather than the farm.
Overall, while the Big City may come with some problems, Sheep was happy to live there and thought it was the right place for him. He maybe a sheep, but that didn't stop him from being independent and to make his own choices in life. Sheep continued to think about how much he enjoyed city life, until he heard someone call for him. “Sheep, your tea's ready!” It was X Agent, who had done Sheep a cup of tea. He and Swanky decided to visit Sheep's apartment and spend some time with him. Sheep was surprised that X Agent had made him some tea, “How did you know tea's my favorite?” “I have my ways...” X Agent teased. “I guess that what happens when you have such a caring love partner!” Swanky laughed. Sheep blushed a little, “Yeah... I guess you're right...” As X Agent placed Sheep's tea next to him, he noticed him staring through the window. “Sheep? Is there something wrong?” He asked, “Is there something you want to talk about?” “Don't worry. Nothing's wrong. Just been thinking about my life, that's all.” Sheep replied. “I see.” X Agent nodded, “But I'm always here if you want to talk!” “Same here!” Swanky added. Sheep then gave the sheep and the poodle a smile, “Thanks... I couldn't ask for better friends...” X Agent and Swanky decided to join Sheep and look down below to see the beauty of the city. Inspired by Sheep, they also decide to think about their life in the Big City. Do they also enjoy it? Or do they prefer living somewhere else. No one knows for sure, but one thing is certain...
“Sheep, your tea's getting cold.” X Agent called. “Oh, right...” Sheep responded as he began to drink his tea...
