“How could you do this!?” you demand, since none of his explanations made sense. You were happy to see him at first, but confusion and anger starts to swell out from you.
You piece it all together and the result is a barrage of catastrophic what-ifs which worsens the more you think about it.
“Why did you have me sent here, in this isolated place? Why me? Why not let me die with them?”
He doesn’t show any emotion. He’s cold. He’s silent. He’s what you never expected from a friend.
“Earth is a home. It is my home! It’s a home for the billions of people in it as well!” your lungs hurt as you try get your point across. “You can’t drag your intergalactic war here and end our planet in ruins, just like what you did with yours!”
Nothing.
“Are you keeping me away? Are you doing this because I saved you? Well, I don’t want it. I don’t want anything from you at all!”
His silence terrifies you. It’s proof of your unintentional compliance which will destroy Earth— A butterfly effect on your life, leading up to this bad shit moment.
If only you hadn’t seen him that day. Then maybe—just maybe— you would be spared from what was to come. You kept your head up, looking at the stars, slapping yourself to wake from this nightmare, digging your heels into the white sand.
But the stars were all the same.
It simply stares as your life heads into ruin once more.
