There used to be a kid who was like the sun…
Smiles so bright it made you smile too!
That kid is no longer now.
It was replaced with a colder person instead.
This kid was Monkey D. Luffy. The only Monkey D. Left alive.
A kid who lost all of their biological family seven years ago.
He did what he could to survive. Made a treehouse since he never had an actual house.
He wanted to be alone. He stopped talking and being social to anyone.
And he would be, no one dared to even remotely go near that treehouse.
The pirates? Gone.
Until one day there’s two kids wanting to be friends with him, he’d think about three years older probably.
“Heyyyy!”
“Caaaan you hear us?!”
Luffy groaned out of annoyance.
“Go away.”
“No!”
Luffy turned to look down at the two kids.
“What do you want?”
“To be your friend!”
“I don’t need friends, I’d prefer to be alone.”
“No!”
“Yeah, our dad said being alone is far worse than death!”
Luffy got a bit startled by this.
“Worse than death, huh?”
It reminded Luffy how he used to think the same thing.
But here he was Cold, touch starved and alone.
“Yeah! Isn't it lonely to be there alone?!”
“Of course it is, that’s the point.”
“Fine! We’ll drag you down here then!”
“Be my guest and do that.”
The two kids climbed up and started dragging his arm.
‘They’ll annoy me even more once they let go and know I have a devil fruit or think I’m a monster.’
“Well. It’s whatever.”
The twins kept dragging the stretched out arm, they felt a tug and turned around and only saw the arm stretched out and quickly went back to its owner.
“We’ll need dad’s help…”
“We definitely will Sabo…”
Portgas D. Ace or Gol D. Ace and Gol D. Sabo or Portgas D. Sabo were twins and did everything together one was stronger then the other like how one was smarter than the other
The two ran to their house
“DAAAAAAD!”
“YEEES?”
The twins barged into the house
“We need help.”
“Well? Spit it out, what do you need help with boys?”
Roger was sitting on the couch while Rouge was taking care of the decorations for the house, she insisted.
“There’s a kid with a devil fruit here!”
“Here? In the east blue?”
“YES!”
“Oh boy…”
Roger practically felt him getting a bunch of gray hairs already.
He immediately realized who it could be since there aren’t that many people with devil fruits that haven’t been to the Grand Line.
“Did he have this scar under his eye, and have a straw hat?”
“Uh… Strange question dad?”
“Well, yes he did actually.”
Roger sighed.
“I know who that kid is.”
“WHO?!”
Rouge came in
“That kid is the kid Makino warned us to not have the boys near, Yes?”
“Yep!”
“But dad, how do you know the kid?”
“More I know of him than anything.”
“Just tell them honey.”
“Right, that kid is the kid Shanks always talks about. Monkey D. Luffy and the only Monkey D. left alive.”
“Wait, you don’t mean the Luffy who’s described as the literal Human Sunshine?”
“The exact one.”
“No way!”
“Yeah! He’s so… Cold!”
“Well Makino did say Luffy was never the same once he found out his family was all dead except him.”
“It makes sense… He was alone for seven years.”
“SEVEN YEARS?! NO WONDER HE WAS COLD!”
“We may need to call Shanks.”
“But honey, Shanks is in the new world.”
“I know. There was one thing he’d always say to me.”
Roger got up and grabbed the DDM
“What did he say dad?”
“He always said Luffy was one of the greatest treasures to ever find in the world.
In fact he even said he was a treasure to everyone on the ship.”
The DDM rung
“Hello?”
“Hey Shanks, I think you should get here, it’s bad. Really bad.”
Roger then heard someone in the background, probably Benn.
“CAPTAIN! WE’RE HERE!”
Shanks turned to Benn
“ALRIGHT!”
Shanks turned to the DDM
The boys looked outside and saw Shanks’ ship
“Heh, You’re already here aren’t you?”
“Yep! See you soon Roger!”
“See you soon.”
Roger put the DDM down

With Luffy.
Luffy looked out and saw the Jolly roger of the red haired pirates, jumped out of the tree house and immediately ran out to the ship.
The twins saw this and spied on him.
Shanks stepped out of the ship,
Some of the villagers came out to see what was happening.
Luffy launched himself into Shanks.
“SHANKS!”
The twins were surprised to see such a cold person sound so happy.
Shanks smiled at the stretchy teen
“Hey Anchor, sorry I didn’t come sooner”
Luffy just clung to Shanks and started crying, all the pain for the last seven years was finally being released.
Shanks sighed and hugged him back for half an hour until two hands stole Luffy
Luffy knew who it was immediately and his sorrows were all released.
Buggy rubbed Luffy’s back comforting him.
The twins seeing this finally realized how much pain he really had.
But what gave Luffy more relief than anything was that people who he knew who cared for him who he knew were still alive were around him.
He needed that more then anything.
