Work Text:
It was Sunday evening, they were just lying around and chatting on caelum talk.
That's when the conversation happened.
Noah: <guys, let’s work out>
Hamin: <have a safe a trip~>
Bamby: <let’s gaur>
Hamin: <bamby hyung, pyongnaeng (pyongyang naengmyeon), go?>
Noah: <yu hamin and chae bonggu, you're the chosen ones.>
Bamby: <pyongnaeng let’s gaaaauurrr>
Hamin: <noah hyung a lo~~~ner>
Noah scoffed at the maknae's text calling him a loner. It's been two weeks since that day when the two younger members secretly admitted to him about their current relationship. He was surprised to know that as no one saw this coming, or maybe they were just being a little too subtle all this time for anyone to notice. Only after they were caught by Noah, hugging each other and looking a bit too friendly than normally in that practice room, that they told him the truth. So, now it was a secret between three.
Yejun: <aigoo>
The leader interrupted the conversation because how naughty the younger members bullying their Noah hyung~? Was it just him or the 3 and 5 seemed even closer now? Of course they had to spend most of the time together brainstorming for choreo and all though, but other than that time too, they had started spending more time outside schedule together. Or maybe it's just me overthinking.
Noah: <🦙 paca ya, give 🖤💗💙 a ride>
He just felt like texting that to make it seemed like the three of them would go together wherever they plan to go; whether the gym to join him or the restaurant to eat pyongnaeng, or else fans might smell something fishy going on between the two. Or maybe it's just me worrying too much.
Besides, he had given them some advices regarding their current status. "I'm not against this, I swear. But I just need you two to be more careful with your surrounding and the way you act around each other when you're on camera. Do not make it too obvious. You know how the society works. Even to our company, I bet they won't like this as it will break the ships concept of our group. You get what I mean, right? Just be careful not to be caught."
Honestly, Noah was so worried for the two young members. They could be too innocent and naive to realize how dangerous one wrong step could impact their rising career.
The next day, the dance liner went out for the said pyongnaeng Bamby had been craving for. They met at a subway and took the train together, heading to this one restaurant the older male had shortlisted.
"You look so happy." Hamin chuckled as the pink haired male beside him hummed to their new song happily.
Wearing almost matching outfits, walking side by side like this and having a half day off, it was impossible for Bamby not to be happy. He glanced down on his hand that was linking around Hamin's arm.
"You don't?" He asked with a hint of disappointment in his tone.
"N-No, no, that's not it! Of course I'm happy too."
Bamby just grinned quietly, enjoying Hamin's flustered reaction every time he teased him.
Later, they spent nearly one hour and half there at the restaurant. Bamby purposely chose somewhere far from the company building and the resident so they wouldn't bump into someone they knew.
After ordering the meals and while waiting for it, Bamby just stared at the younger sitting opposite to him, chin rested on his palm. Hamin blinked in confusion at the sudden attention he received.
"W-What is it, hyung? Something on my face?"
"Nah." The pink headed slightly pouted as if something was bothering his mind. "I wish we could just do this without the fear of being found out or ruining people's expectations."
Of course, me too. Hamin thought to himself. "But remember what Noah hyung told us, right? We have to be extra careful for the sake of our career."
"Right." Bamby nodded and let out a low sigh. Only just now he was in a good mood though.
Seeing that gloomy face, the younger came up with an idea. "Hyung, I have a new game that I wanna show you."
"So sudden?"
"Come here, sit with me."
Knowing they both actually had many in commons and one of them was the interest in gaming, Hamin found it interesting. It was good to share a lot of interest and hobby but he found their differences in food preference rather endearing. If two people have different taste, they get to learn and try each other's taste. He personally thought. So, it didn't matter.
Bamby got up from his seat and moved to the other opposite, settled himself beside Hamin. "What game?"
"Subway Surfers."
"Are you kidding me? This is not a new game. Hamin, I've seen this game years ago."
"Ah, really? But I just found this out." The guy in dark blue hoodie sounded less excited, maybe a little disappointed. He was about to close the game again when Bamby quickly held him by wrist.
"Wait. Let's play. I haven't played this game for ages anyway."
"You don't mind?"
"Of course I don't! But I won't go easy on you~" The other guy in pink sweatshirt said purposely in provoking manner to bring out the competitiveness in Hamin. He knew him too well because now the younger one got fired up and fixed his sitting position.
"Okayyy~ I won't go easy on you too even if you act cute, just so you know."
Bamby scoffed at that. He leaned back against Hamin and one of Hamin's arms wrapped around his shoulder while the other hand was holding the device.
"But isn't this game too easy?"
"Let's see who got the highest score."
"Of course me."
"Nah. Me."
Both of them broke into chuckle, eyes focusing on the character on the screen. They just needed to collect money and all the features while avoiding train and danger.
Bamby purposely made distractive noise during Hamin's turn and Hamin distracted Bamby by tickling his waist and nape during the elder's turn. They were so into the moment, just them in their own little world, being close and fun like this. Luckily, their table was at the back in the corner, so it couldn't be seen clearly as it was more hidden than the rest.
After few more rounds, Bamby won the game. He grinned smugly and annoyingly that Hamin scoffed at the antic before pulling him closer and peppered his face with kisses. Bamby laughed as quiet as he could because it was ticklish and he got to pissed Hamin off.
"You little--!"
"Your little." Bamby corrected him casually.
Hamin smiled against the other cheek. Right. We are each other's now.
Hugging each other freely like this without feeling worried to get caught by someone they knew, it felt so good. Only when the waiter came to serve their foods that they pulled away to respect the lad. Bamby's face lit up right away and almost drooled at the sight of pyongnaeng.
"Hyung!" Hamin laughed at Bamby while preparing the cutlery for the elder. "Here is the tissue." Always so gentle and caring, the boyfriend material he was.
He smiled the whole time seeing Bamby enjoyed the food a bit too much. "Answer in a second, hyung."
"A game so sudden?" Bamby frowned a little but played along anyway.
"Me or pyongnaeng."
"Pyongnaeng!"
Hamin scoffed, "You didn't even stutter." He pouted a little and continued eating his own pyongnaeng. Bamby took a glance and smiled at the adorable sulking face.
"Me or ramyeon." This time, Bamby asked.
"Ramyeon."
The pink headed scoffed, "See? So easy to choose, right?"
"Eyyy that's because you chose pyongnaeng over me, so I was just taking my revenge!"
Bamby laughed at that, silently admiring the pouty face.
Having a chill yet fun conversation over the meals, they spent the rest of the hour there.
Their next destination before coming back to their place was arcade game. Yes, another gaming session~ This time, Hamin was more expert as he kept winning in those games. Bamby huffed after the forth time losing.
"Tch. Why is it so hard?"
They just played car racing, gun shooting, and basketball earlier. Now they were playing a claw machine. Bamby took his second attempt and still didn't manage to get the bunny.
"ARggHH--!"
"H-Hyung, calm down, ok, calm down." Hamin briefly hugged the smaller from side. "Let me do it now." It was his turn. He moved to stand right behind Bamby and played the machine in such position with his chin resting on the shorter shoulder. The elder was just too small, could easily fit in the space there. "Which bunny are you targeting for?"
Bamby frowned, arms folded across his chest and grumpily replied, "The pink one in black shirt."
In a blink and a skillful swing move, Hamin won exactly that.
"Wtf-?" Bamby shot him a disbelief look. "Why was it so hard for me?!" He got even pissed off when Hamin smirked smugly. "Aghh so unfair!"
Hamin bent down and took the said pink bunny. "Don't be angry. This is for you though." He gave the plushie to Bamby which the pink haired male gladly accepted it.
"Thank you." Bamby suddenly looked around. "What should I win for you in return?" Because he thought it would be more fun to exchange gift like this.
"Get me that keychain." Hamin pointed his finger at one of the game vending machines. They just needed to place in some coins and twisted the knob, then a plastic ball with an item inside would came out.
It was too easy for Bamby, not even a game, in fact. Fortunately, he didn't think Hamin underestimated him or get offended at how easy it was though. So, they went for it. One Piece keychains got Hamin's attention, so Bamby would win one for him.
"Wow thank you~"
"What character did you get?" Bamby peeked as Hamin split the ball into half to take out the keychain inside.
"Zoro~" The taller male grinned. "Thank you."
"Do you like it?"
"Yes, I do."
Then, that was enough for Bamby. As long as Hamin liked it. They exchanged smile and looked at the gifts they received from each other; the pink bunny plushie and the Zoro keychain.
Now, it was time to go home. The time shown was twenty minutes passed two. They had to attend their group schedule later at four for a comeback practice.
Bamby put the bunny plushie inside his bag pack while Hamin hung the keychain on his own bag zipper.
"Let's go. We gotta hurry." Hamin held the other hand as they walked along the road, heading to a bus stop. He seemed a bit rush. Meanwhile, Bamby just didn't care even if he late. He was always late for their group practice anyway, but Hamin was different. The maknae was always the first and early to come. Quite punctual when it came to timing.
"Can you chill?" Bamby lifted up an eyebrow. They were now inside the bus.
"No. I don't want to be the center of today's controversy." Hamin said innocently, causing the older one laughed at it.
"Okay, okay. We gotta hurry then.".
For the few times in awhile, Bamby was early to come~ Thanks to his tall boyfriend.
"So, thank you for today. I have so much fun and I got my pyongnaeng too."
"You're welcome, hyung. I have a great time too. Thank you."
"What do we call today's hang out?"
Hamin hummed shortly. "Pyongnaeng date."
Bamby suppressed his laughter at how lame it sounded. "Okay. Pyongnaeng date."
They cracked a smile, a contented one. Hands intertwined between their seats. Bamby hid his mouth with the back of his another hand, he couldn't stop smiling as he felt so happy. A date. Their first one.
Later, they arrived at the bus stop nearby Vlast building. Now, they had to let go each other's hand, put a little distance between them and back to their respective role. As long as they weren't get caught, then everything would be okay.
"I'm gonna miss us like this."
"Me too. Until next time, hyung."
Then, they got off the bus and went to the company building for their group practice. They were the second to arrive after Yejun and Noah hyung. Luckily, the leader didn't ask anything since the two youngers arrived together for the first time.
"Hi, hyung~" Hamin greeted the other two and hugged Noah from behind. Bamby acted like he didn't care, they had to get used to something like this anyway. He went to Yejun and talked about what they were gonna do for today's practice.
Just like that, Eunho arrived later. He was the last one, as always. The latter grinned and rubbed his nape apologetically, "I overslept, guys. Sorry."
"Dinner today will be on Eunho hyung~~!!!" Hamin announced from behind Noah and the other three hyungs cheered at it. Eunho whined loudly and hugged Bamby, asking for some mercy. Yejun laughed at four of them and they finally began their practice.
