Work Text:

Hawks grunted softly as he felt the dull ache again, something he wasn’t quite used to, feeling it smolder hotly inside. He remained where he was, perched high on a skyscraper, but tucked away from sight in one on the air conditioning vents, the old screws having been no match for his dexterous feathers. He gazed out through the vent grills, eyeing the sky, knowing that his performance from earlier had been a bit… unorthodox.

Hawks had gotten word from Endeavor that during a villain attack, when he had had his hands full, his three interns had also been fighting, but they had gotten separated from him. Wanting to assist, Hawks had sped over, but then… realized how BAD the situation was.

He found himself in a dark alleyway with a pair of shady villains. One’s hand smoked with a green gas that made Hawks feel slightly lightheaded, making him realize it was a paralytic. The other man’s quirk was plain to see as he held the three limp interns like tiny dolls in his hands, the students each about 6 inches.

Fortunately, by the grace of whatever deity was watching, as soon as the two men spotted Hawks, their hands flew to their foreheads, index extended, thumb touching. Hawks did indeed recognize them, and while he was quick to return the salute, his mind raced.

He settled on something a bit crazy, and glared at the two men.

“Are you two CRAZY?! Redestro said its not TIME yet! The city’s heroes have those interns and are on high alert!”

The men paused, the gas one looking panicked, snapping at the shrinker, “Wait, INTERNS?! You said they were just from the UA sports festival! Just easy ransom money!”

“They ARE!” The shrinker hissed, now eyeing the unconscious teens like disgusting insects. “I don’t even know who they’re interning wit-“

“Endeavor.” Hawks supplied.

As Hawks crossed his arms, and looked convincingly TICKED OFF, the men paled as he growled, “You just snatched up THE NUMBER ONE’S INTERNS, INCLUDING HIS SON!”

The men looked ready to pass out.

“Do you have any idea what he’ll do to you if he finds out you--"

Hawks was cut off as the shrinker actually THREW the unconscious little bodies at him, and his wings flared instantly, reading the vibrations to easily catch the three on a feather each, cradling the small forms easily.

“OH GOD, TAKE THEM!” the shrinker yelped. “HE’LL KILL ME!”

But Hawks was quick to ask, “Yours is the compressing quirk right? Like the armless guy?”

He nodded. “Yeah. Small and dense, but mine doesn’t reverse at will. It'll just wear off in 24hrs.” He checked his watch. “So, 4p tomorrow.”

Hawks nodded, muttering, “Okay, I interrogated you, but you both slipped away.”

Both men nodded, but then froze as a new voice joined in.

“Simple as that, eh? Won't it look bad for a hero to let cheap bad guys go?”

His wings flaring slightly, Hawks forced a smile. “I’d say its nice to see you, Dabi, but your timing’s abysmal.” He brought the feathers with the small students close, saying, “This is a HUGE mess! I thought you were in charge of this team of yours!”

“Don't lecture me. It's boring.” Dabi grumbled, but then froze as he indeed saw the students. He glared at the shrinker and toxic gasser. “I told you to specifically AVOID these ones, you dumb bastards. You’ll bring Endeavor down on our asses with your idiocy.”

The two men stammered, clearly terrified of the walking crematorium, and Hawks sighed. “Okay. It’s done. But now what?!” He gestured to the feathers. “I can't take them back like THIS! Endeavor will find the quirk in the data base, know he lives in Deika, and from there, knows the connection to Liberation and the League!”

The shrinker and toxic gasser were on their knees, begging Dabi’s forgiveness, but he coldly ignored them, looking at Hawks. “What do you want ME to do about it, Mr Hero?”

Hawks froze as he sensed something. Deku’s muscles were twitching.

Dabi caught his eye, and glared questioningly.

Hawks’ mind raced.

He had to simultaneously play the act of the bad guy to stay in their good graces, BUT also convince the kids he was a perfect hero too!

His amber eyes widened as he got a crazy idea, and he moved his feathers with the kids to the ground, putting them down gently, other feathers snagging the two other villains and tucking them out of sight behind a dumpster, mouthing ‘stay quiet!’

Dabi watched impassively, but curiously.

Hawks then sat down by the wall by the small forms, furthering Dabi’s confusion, but as he gestured, Dabi came to kneel by him. Hawks then hissed in his ear, “You got me and the kids with a paralyzing agent, and just the kids with an experimental quirk drug.”

“Following so far.” Dabi rumbled. He eyed the twitching forms. “And what’s the plan?”

Hawks gave a crooked smile. “You’ll feed polly a cracker. Scare the everliving SHIT out of them. I remain a victim, your idiots’ quirks aren't revealed, and I'll get the kids back and we let them resize as the ‘drug wears off’. No connections.”

Dabi’s eyes narrowed in delight. “Oh now that IS devious. But won't that kill them? Not that I care, but killing that half and half brat will make Endeavor even MORE of a pain than he already is.”

Hawks smiled weakly. “The quirk will protect them. Not much else to worry about.”

Hawks grunted as Dabi’s hand slammed into his chest, pushing him against the wall, but then saw Deku looking up blearily. Quickly, he let his wings droop limply, playing along.

The small green-haired hero was openly shocked at what he saw, but then yelped as the huge, discoloured hand grabbed him. He squealed and yelled, but Dabi only grinned. “Oh yeah, you. The green troublemaker.”

He brought Deku to his face, and for a moment, Hawks was genuinely worried Dabi would try to eat him himself, his stitched mouth in a dangerously wide grin.

“You’ve been trouble from the start, brat.” He then turned Deku around to face Hawks, who played along, his body limp, eyes half-lidded, looking woozy and dozy.

“Fortunately, I know a perfect way to take care of you AND your friends.” Dabi rumbled out, his other hand grabbing for Hawks’ face, messing with his mouth.

Before Deku could even ask, Dabi was shoving the tiny hero into Hawks’ jaws, making the winged hero shudder as he felt the terrified scrabbles against his tongue and palate. He played his part, weakly fighting, but Dabi ignored him, focusing on pushing Deku in deeper and deeper, snapping, “Forget it, birdbrain. That paralyzing doze is good for a few minutes still.” He stuck his fingers into Hawks’ mouth, forcing the tiny booted feet down Hawks’ gullet, his throat reacting instinctively and swallowing the little hero down. Hawks grimaced, but kept playing, looking as horrified as one could while being ‘paralyzed’, easing the small form smoothly past his crop and down to his belly, where Dabi’s patchwork hand waited impatiently. He didn't want Dabi to know about his crop just yet. He had to keep SOME secrets…

They both felt the panicked kicks inside, and Dabi smirked, seeing Shoto and Bakugo wake. Not giving Shoto time to properly wake up, Dabi grabbed the little Todoroki and RAMMED him into the open jaws, taking great delight in pushing the confused form along the slick tongue, Shoto too bleary to understand what was happening as he was swallowed whole and alive.

Bakugo was noisiest, especially as he was fully lucid. He screamed, he threatened, he bit when he found he was temporarily quirkless, but Hawks was soon shuddering as his third helping of hero was shoved down his gullet, Dabi massaging and rubbing his belly firmly as the three little heroes squirmed, thrashed, and panicked in his stomach, their voices begging for release.

Dabi bent his head down, saying clearly, “Not my problem anymore. Hawks’ metabolism is your priority now. His paralytic will last for another 5 minutes.”

As Hawks openly frowned at him, glaring, Dabi added, “If you brats are still alive by then, the shrinking serum wears off in 24hrs.”

Hawks then had to grudgingly play along as Dabi took sadistic pleasure in kneading, rubbing, and massaging the winged hero’s belly while it churned and sloshed the little students around. He could feel they were TRYING to figure things out, feeling small hands push at the two openings and the movements became more calculated than panicked as most likely Deku realized they were safe.

After four minutes, Dabi stood, growling at Hawks, “You got lucky I'm busy today, birdbrain.” and without another word, him and the villains slunk away.

Hawks grimaced as he felt another kick inside, the steady beating on his stomach a bit more than he felt comfortable with. He waited another minute before he dramatically gasped and jumped, like he had been released from a quirk, and he felt the three students freeze, and then IMMEDIATELY thrash and writhe and scream for his attention, making him hiccup and groan, “Jeez, kids, CALM DOWN! It’s a stomach, not a bounce house! Stay still and let me focus on getting you out!”

“NO!”

Hawks froze as Deku called up, asking, “WaitWHAT?!”

“If we come out, we’ll get lost or kidnapped or hurt!” Deku reasoned, but then grunted as the belly churned around him again. “Just go NOW! We… We seem safe. Like Kacchan when he was compressed. I think its a serum from a similar quirk. We’ll be fine, and will tell you if it DOES hurt, so GO!”

There came an angry, furious punch and a livid, “GET YOUR FUCKING WINGS IN MOTION, BIRD! I AM NOT STAYING IN YOUR GUTS ANY LONGER THAN NEEDED!”

Hawks grunted as there was another kick, and stood up, acting wobbly. “All right, all right, quit the kicking!” He sighed, but then shakily took to the air, his belly churning unhappily around his heavy meal, feeling like it was actually weighing him down!

He used his headset to privately get in touch with Endeavor, explaining the ‘attack’ and after waiting for Endeavor to finishing screaming about the situation, Hawks said he was on his way.

“No, not a good idea.” Endeavor stated.

Hawks groaned, especially as Bakugo kicked again. “Oh come on! What’s with all the ‘no’s?! I’m getting heartburn!”

“They may follow you to attack the boys when you release them.” Endeavor returned evenly.

Hawks sighed, rubbing idly at his belly to soothe the ache. “Ugh, yeah you’re right. And Deku says they’re safe in there, so I'm as good as an armored transport for them right now.” He sighed again. “So what? I lay low?”

“For now.” Endeavor agreed. “Keep yourself and the boys out of sight. Come find me tonight. Don't let yourself be followed. This could still be a trap.”

Hawks grumbled as he felt yet another kick, and he paused to rub his belly, “Hey, stop with the tantrum! I’m in a bind here too, you know!”

Fortunately, while was another bit of squirming, the boys all went still, allowing Hawks to finish his conversation, and then hang up. “Okay, boys, you’re staying in Hotel Hawks a while. I’m finding us a quiet place to hole up.”

He heard some soft mutterings, and from the anger they carried, he gathered Bakugo hated the situation, but knew he had to deal with it for a while.

Hawks sighed as he rested in the vent, keeping an eye out for anyone looking for him, leaning back, a hand on his slightly rounded belly, his thumb rubbing idly at the lump under his skin. The boys were very quiet now, had been for a while. He knew they were safe though, able to feel them breathing calmly, but if they were resting, talking quietly among themselves, or actually SLEEPING in there, Hawks couldn’t tell.

But regardless, he wore a broad smile, his fangs on full predatory display, licking his lips idly as he recalled the delightful forced feeding. He regretted that it had been so rushed, but this felt excellent, and while his belly ached from being overly stretched for so long, he savored the situation, wondering just how long he could get away with not reporting back to Endeavor and releasing the kids before the 24hrs was up…
