"Love, you know I don't like surprises."
Suki explained, trying to keep a serious tone, all despite her actual deep down excitement for knowing Eve had planned something for their evening, just to spend some proper, quality alone time together.
It felt like forever, especially with their businesses to run, families to tend to. It was always pleasant the times they "accidentally" bumped into eachother whilst either were working, just for a chance to see eachother, even if it was checking up on one another, embracing one another and chaste kisses.
Since Nish was gone, Suki now had to take over all of the businesses, which were rightfully hers to begin with, but forgot how much work it was going to end up being. Of course, she did infact have Eve's help whenever she felt Suki was in arms deep with it all, not wanting to get to involved due to wanting her to keep her financial stability and independence, but never wanted Suki to feel as if she was carrying too much of the stress on her own.
By the time they both got home from work, high chances are it was a quick meal and in bed with one another, both exhausted and especially knowing they both had an early start in the morning. This, however, was enough for them, they still saw eachother, and both were secure in their love for one another. Both being able to be curled up in their warm bed together, embraced in eachothers company, knowing they were safe and despite the stress-load that work gave, they knew by the end of the day they'd be able to return home together and be surrounded by the person they loved the most.
"Darling girl, I know you don't like surprises, but sometimes a woman just wants to treat her beautiful girlfriend to something for a change- ignoring the flowers I bring home after work- atleast once a week of course-" Eve started, suddenly getting flustered at remembering just truely how head over heals she really is for Suki.
Not wanting to take no for an answer, Eve took Suki's hand gently and started walking them to the nearby park, the sun had atleast another two hours before it was going to begin setting, but the picnic blanket which Eve had set out was underneath an old oak-tree, giving them enough cover to protect them from the sun and to hopefully avoid the Merlot going warm, which Eve carefully picked out earlier that day, right before she even began work- which did infact result in her being 20 minutes to work, but in her mind it was all worth it. Every part of this was worth it.
Eve shook her hands in an over-exaggerated way, to present the picnic blanket, which had a bunch of their favourite fruits, snacks and of course, a large bottle of Merlot in an iced bucket to keep it all nice and fresh, everything had been bought atleast within 24 hours so nothing had went off, she wanted this to just be perfect for Suki, despite knowing anything she would do is good enough for her.
"Oohhhh, Eve this is beautiful!" Suki said her eyes glistening with happy tears, she had never had this sort of thing before, had someone care about her happiness as much as Eve does, and especially wanted to spend quality time with her, as fun as every night which they spend together in bed.
Suki quickly moved over to Eve to kiss her softly, not surprised when Eve went to deepen the kiss, but quickly pulled her into a tight embrace. She pulled away, but proceeded to look at Eve in pure awe.
Eve helped Suki sit down towards the picnic basket which was placed ontop of the classic red and white checkered picnic blankets. They both sat down and immediately shuffled closer to one another.
Wanting Eve to be even closer, Suki carefully brought Eve down so she could lay her head comfortably on Suki's lap as she prompted herself up with her hands.
"Always the best for you, it's what you deserve- Now-" Eve started looking up at Suki with nothing put pure love, "I am starving." She laughed as Suki went to pick up one of the strawberries from the small plastic box to gently feed to Eve.
They couldn't help but both laugh, as when Eve attempted to swallow, she must have clearly been too dazed by Suki looking down on her to even think to chew. "Christ- That was like-, actual attempted murder right there babe!" Eve laughed, trying to stop the coughing as she sat up, but then very quickly laid back down, wanting to gaze up again to meet Suki's eyes.
"I promise you- If I wanted to murder you my love I'd do it more discreetly." Suki smirked, whilst enjoying a strawberry herself.

9.30PM - Park
After talking for what seemed like eternity, they were now laid side by side on the picnic blanket. Eve's arm wrapped gently around the back of Suki's neck and her other arm drapped carefully over Suki's stomach.
Suki noticed Eve must have fallen asleep, she did have a pretty productive day in comparison to how she normally does, Suki didn't wanna ruin the adorableness of hearing the small noises Eve makes whilst she's asleep, and how she automatically nuzzles her head further into Suki's shoulder, which of course, she never minded. She wanted nothing else than to be next to the woman she loves, feeling her breathe slightly tickle her neck.
It was now dark out, and for a summers night, the stars were alot more noticable than they used to be so Suki looked up to gaze into the dark sky, admiring all of the stars.
She could gently feel that Eve was waking up from her small nap, so she turned back to Eve and began placing light kisses to the top of her head, then slowly began brushing her hair with her fingers, not only did she know it was relaxing and comforting to Eve, but Suki loved touching Eve's hair, and of course, Eve let her, knowing how much comfort it brought them both.
"Mhmnmm-" Eve mumbled sleepily, still trying to process the fact that she was now awake.
"Good morning sleepy head, did you have a good rest, darling?" Suki lightly whispered, placing a delicate, gentle kiss to Eve's forehead again.
"I did- Yes, especially knowing I was next to you, however I am sorry for falling asleep on our incredibly peaceful picnic date-" Eve said, feeling a slightly bit of regret after not realising how she had drifted off, but non the less, still gazed up at Suki, even with her half open eyes, and doing her classic, lopsided smile, which she knew Suki loved and reached up to hold Suki's cheek to pull her down slightly so she could gently kiss her.
"Hey, hey, don't apologise, you know I don't mind, you do what you have to do- However now that you're awake, I do infact want you to watch the stars with me, that is a given." Suki laughed whilst admiring the smitten look on her girlfriends face, both of them now looking up to watch the stars.
"Do you even have to ask?" Eve smiled knowingly.
They proceeded to stay there for a hour later, snuggled by eachothers side, both making comments and pointing out different patterns they could see in the stars.
Eve began rambling about different facts she knew about space whilst still proceeding to point out different constellations in which she could make out.
Suki could listen to Eve ramble about her interests for hours, especially never knowing Eve had such a strong interest in astronomy. All she could do was lay by her lovers side and listen on, listening to how happy Eve looked, especially with the wide grin she had on her face eachtime.
"I love you, Eve."
"I love you too Suki."
Suki couldn't help but interrupt her for just a moment but soon Eve very quickly picked up where she was at, she felt honoured to be able to lay here, with Eve and knowing Eve rarely ever rambled on this much to anyone else but her.
Suki kept placing light kisses to her forehead and played with Eve's hair as she continued to go on.
